1:32Welcome back to Let’s Talk Wellness Now. I am your host, Dr. Deb, and you’re listening to Episode 132. Why are 97% of the people not asking this question? I’m really serious about this. Like, why are we not standing up and asking the hard question. So I want to give you some statistics. So you know why I’m saying 97% of the people in this country need to ask the hard questions. And that’s because if we look at how many cases as of September 6, how many new cases of COVID we have, it’s roughly about 40 million, I’m going to take off the few change things there. But roughly about 40 million new cases, there’s roughly 388 million plus people in the United States. And that plus is just a few odd change, right. And to date as of September 6 147 million people are fully vaccinated. So if we just do the math, and we look at the number of fully vaccinated people, that means the risk of people contracting the virus is 0.0272%, based on the 40 million new cases that we’re having in a seven day period of time. Now, that is not a pandemic. Those numbers do not equate to a pandemic yet. That’s what we’re saying we’re still in. I want to tell you some research that I was listening to Dr. McCullough talk about the other day. And he believes based on his ability to do research that we have to realize that about 83% of these people are being diagnosed with Delta variant, okay.
3:37However, the only way that we can assure that somebody is sick with the Delta variant is if they’re getting tested by the local health department, because the local health department is doing sequencing gene sequencing to determine if they have the variant or not. Everybody else that’s testing is using PCR testing, which cannot tell the difference between COVID SARS to influenza Delta variant, lambda variant, whatever variants we come up with, but yet people are being told, and the CDC is being reported to that all these people have this new Delta variant. This is not how we do science. This is not precision science. This is anecdotal evidence. Nowhere in any other chronic illness and especially in a pandemic, would we do anecdotal evidence we would do real science. So my first question is, why are we not doing real science? Why? Why is only the health department doing gene sequencing? And why are the hospitals reporting Delta variant cases when they don’t know that they have delta variant? That is question number one. Question number two, is if all of these people 140 7 million people have taken the jab, Madonna, Pfizer, or J&J? Why do we have so many people testing positive? Now, we have to look back and see how many people do we suspect had been infected with COVID prior to the jab? Well, according to the statistics, roughly 67% of Americans were infected with COVID at the end of December 2020, so 67% of our population equates to roughly 259 million. Okay? If 259 million people were infected with COVID, by the end of 2020, they have natural immunity, they don’t need to take the jab. If 147 million people to date are fully vaccinated, according to the CDC record as of September 6, that means we have over 100% immunity, those two numbers equal 406 million people. There’s only 388 million people in the US. People, we need to start asking these questions, we need to actually do the math and not listen to what they’re seeing on TV. We’re completely negating natural immunity. And we’re assuming the American people are just dumb. And they’re not going to look at this. They’re not going to do the math, and they’re not going to question this. I’ve been doing the math all along. I’ve been questioning this all along. They can tell you that they don’t know how long people will have immunity to COVID SARS to if they’ve been infected. We know what happens, it’s no different than if somebody was infected with chickenpox or measles, they will have natural immunity for the rest of their life. Now, how did we get these variants that we don’t seem to have any immunity to? Well, we got the variance because we mass vaccinated all these people at one time and pushed a new variant to come. Yes, there would have been a natural variant that would have happened. How the immune system works is that those variants would become weaker, not stronger. But because we pushed this vaccine on so many people, we pushed this variant ourselves and we created a problem, we created a variant that appears to be quite strong.
7:49But I want to remind you again, for as strong as it is, there is stillv less than 0.2% infection rate that does not make a strong variant that does not make a pandemic. I want to talk about what’s the difference of the definition of an outbreak, an epidemic and a pandemic because I think this is important for us to understand. So an outbreak is a sudden rise in the number of cases of disease. It can occur in a community or geographical area, and it may affect several countries, and it may last for a few days, weeks or even several years. Some some outbreaks are expected each year like influenza, or an infectious outbreak might show up in foodborne botulism, something like that, or anthrax, those kinds of things are considered an outbreak. an epidemic occurs when an infectious disease spreads rapidly to many people like in 2003, when there was a severe acute respiratory syndrome, SARS epidemic that took place in 2003. And it took the lives of nearly 800 people worldwide. Now, a pandemic is considered a global disease outbreak. And this differs from an outbreak of an epidemic because it affects a wider geographical area. It’s worldwide. It infects a greater number of people than an epidemic. And it’s often caused by a new virus or a strain of a virus that has to be circulating among people for a long time. So that is the definition of the pandemic. That’s why we’re saying it’s a pandemic but I also think that we’re using the pandemic word as a fear tactic to make people think that you’re going to die if you get this. And that is not necessarily the case, especially if we bring on early onset treatment. If we were treating early when people got sick instead of turning them away, and saying there’s absolutely nothing we can do for you. Just go home, wait, so you can’t breathe and then come back to the hospital. And we’ll put you on a ventilator. That is not treatment. That is not what we do in medicine. We just never treated any illness that way before. Even when we had the Ebola outbreak, we were trying different things to help these people. But with this particular COVID SARS, two, we’re not giving people any opportunity for any kind of early onset treatment. We’re discrediting any practitioner who’s talking about things that we can do to help people. And we’re telling people that just be prepared, if you get this, you’re going to die. I don’t like fear tactics. I don’t like pressuring people. I think people need to be informed. And in our holistic practice of medicine, we need to have tools in our toolbox that we can use that can help us protect and heal ourselves. So that this doesn’t have to be...
Dr. Ardis and Dr. Muth discuss why people were dying in the ICU in 2020. Learn which drugs you should make sure you avoid and what supplements can you take to protect yourself from viruses and CV19.
Do not miss these highlights:
[06:21] The body is a natural mechanism system, it’s never designed to use synthetic man-made stuff
[07:15] Coronaviruses have existed forever
[10:51] The people are not dying from the COVID-19 infection, they’re actually dying from an additional cocktail of drugs
[13:05] The Chinese government already figured out that high doses of vitamin C could stop this viral respiratory virus
[17:51] In May 2020, Remdesivir was not ever FDA approved, safe and effective for any viral infection in the world
[18:38] Within six months of the Ebola trial in Africa, Remdesivir killed 54% of everybody given the drug and was shown to be deadly
[21:25] In March 2020, 31% of 53 COVID19 patients that were given Remdesivir experienced multiple organ failure, acute kidney failure, septic shock, and hypotension in less than 10 days
[24:20] Doctors and these protocols are causing acute kidney failure flooding the body and lungs with water and drowning patients to death in every ICU across this country
[28:53] Each of these variants are not more dangerous, it actually becomes less dangerous all throughout each mutation
[35:11] Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine help assist in adding zinc into your cells to protect you from viruses. Once they get in, they can’t replicate in the presence of zinc.
[38:00] Ivermectin won the Nobel Prize in 2015 for eradicating human diseases.

Debra Muth 4:10Hey everybody, it’s Dr. Deb from Let’s Talk Wellness Now. I am so honored to have Dr. Ardis with us today. This is going to be an amazing conversation. I’ve heard him speak before. And he is going to blow your mind today with some great content about COVID and what his thought process is around this. So welcome to the show, Dr. Ardis.
Bryan Ardis 4:33Thank you very much. I’m so excited to be here. Hello, audience.
Debra Muth 4:37So tell us a little bit about yourself.
Bryan Ardis 4:40My name is Dr. Brian artists. I’m married to a woman named Jane. We’ve got eight kids together actually we’ve had kids from other marriages but now we have eight together I have five. I am actually a licensed chiropractor, acupuncturist, nutritionists do and have for the last 20 years done what you would consider holistic healing. I specialized for Since 2004, with a practice in Tennessee and one in Dallas, Texas specialize in reversing autoimmune diseases, that was my favorite thing. So we use natural methods to either detox or remove infections from the body repair and heal the body. That’s what I’ve done for the last 20 years had patients from 17,000 patients from 16 different countries. So we had a lot of success.
Debra Muth 5:20That is awesome. That is one of the hardest things to reverse. So it’s amazing the track record that you guys have,
Bryan Ardis 5:27It’s actually very difficult if you’re going to try it in the medical model, because they have no idea how to do it. So that’s why it seems so complex, it’s actually quite easy. If you actually just avoid the treatment of drugs, that drug, there are no drugs that cure any autoimmune diseases. So if you try to go that route, it’s gonna be very difficult.
Debra Muth 5:45There are a lot of things in the quote unquote, traditional world of medicine that people recognize that don’t work for a lot of things. That’s why they find like you and I!
Bryan Ardis 5:56They typically will suffer long enough from the typical medical treatments or conventional treatments, and eventually life just doesn’t improve, it actually continues to wane and get worse, and then they will seek anybody out, then it usually ends up being what are termed the alternative health care doctors, when in reality, the conventional medical model should actually be considered the alternative, you should always go there last, you should always go somewhere natural. First, your body is a natural mechanism system. It knows how to use natural things. It’s never designed to use synthetic manmade stuff. So it’s a it’s a basic principle we’ve lear...

About our Guest:
A longtime researcher of shamanism and spirituality, Sol Luckman is an iconoclastic psychonaut devoted to exploring and exposing the truth about human history and potential—wherever that might lead. His new novel, CALI THE DESTROYER, Finalist in both the New Age and Visionary categories of the 2021 International Book Awards, is a page-turner of a sci-fi tale set in an Orwellian future seeded in the dystopian presents that radically rewrites Gnosticism as well as the origins of the earth and humanity. His previous novel, the multi-award-winning SNOOZE: A STORY OF AWAKENING, was a deep dive into Hindu mysticism, lucid dreaming, parallel universes, and cryptozoology. In his two international bestselling nonfiction books on the “revolutionary healing science” (NEXUS Magazine) of his own unique form of sound healing, the Regenetics Method, Luckman examined the critical role played by DNA and consciousness in healing, transformation, and evolution. On the lighter side, Luckman is also an acclaimed humorist. Of his multi-award-winning satirical lexicon, THE ANGEL’S DICTIONARY, Reader Views remarked that he “picked up where writers like Mark Twain and Ambrose Bierce had left off.” More recently, the forthcoming MUSING FROM A SMALL ISLAND combines fascinating memoir, hilarious comedy and inspirational philosophy in a stunningly self-illustrated coffee table book any Lowcountry lover or contemporary art aficionado would be proud to display.

Nobody knows what end is up, everybody’s getting to the point where they don’t know what to believe anymore. There’s lots of concerns about the jab. And do you take it? Do you not? Well, Sol has a really great perspective on jack scenes and how they cause autoimmune disease. And better yet, how we can use something called Regenetics that he has worked with for several years to heal the body on an emotional level, you guys are going to just love this conversation. It’s going to take lots of twists and turns and go in many different directions. But we’re also going to share with you some sources that you guys can reach out to and get involved yourself. But also I want to have you listened to this episode and just really engage in the power of femininity and the rise between the feminine energy and how that will truly heal the world in its masculine destruction. So, I want to give you a little bit of information about Saul himself here. Saul is a longtime researcher of shamanism and spirituality. He is agnostic, psycho not devoted to exploring and exposing the truth about human history and the potential wherever that might lead. He has a new novel called Kali, the destroyer finalist in both the new age and visionary categories of 2021 International Book Awards. This is a page turner of a sci fi tale set in the Orwellian future seated in the dystopian press presents that radically rewrites Gnosticism as well as the origins of the earth and the humanity. He has many, many different books that he has written. And he has created a unique form of sound healing called rejects method. And Luckman has examined the critical role played in DNA and the consciousness and healing transformation and evolution. I had the wonderful opportunity to have a conversation with him a few weeks ago, and he and I just really hit it off in our conversations about feminine energy and power of goddesses. And this re rejects method that he used to heal himself from a jack seen injury as he calls it. And I want him to be able to share that information with you. So this is going to be a different conversation for us that we’ve had for a while, but I think you guys are going to really love it. And check him out at the Phoenix Regenetics.org where he is works with his partner, Lee. And together, the two of them have helped many, many victims of heavy metal toxicity, Vaccine Injury, medical injury of all kinds with this, this form of sound medicine that he’s created. So can’t wait to share this with you guys. Let’s dive in right now.

Sol Luckman 4:54Thanks for having me, Dr. Deborah.
Debra Muth 4:56So tell us a little bit about yourself.
Sol Luckman 5:01Wow. existential questions, huh? Yeah, well, I come from an academic background. And I was I was working on a PhD in literature when when I had some, I like to call them jack scenes, because that’s what I call them in my book. And I can avoid censorship sometimes that way. So I had some of those for travel for dissertation research, and I ended up getting really ill because of those. So I have first hand experience with what it’s like to have that kind of damage and to have my you know, one’s life torn apart by by that kind of invasive procedure. And I spent a long time trying to get well, I was very ill with an autoimmune, mysterious autoimmune situation that went on for the better part of a decade. And I ended up figuring out how to heal myself using energy and sound, sound healing, through a rather miraculous series of events, I detail all of this in one of my books called potentiate your DNA. I also talked about it in another book called c...

0:02Welcome to Let’s talk wellness. Now, I’m your host, Dr. Deb. This is where we talk about everything wellness, and learn to defy aging, and live our lives on our own terms.
0:17I’m Dr. Deb, founder of Serenity Health Care Center, I want to thank you for joining our let’s talk wellness now podcast, it has been such a pleasure to share our knowledge. Anytime a day. I’d like to encourage you to check it out at Serenity view.com.
1:32So today’s podcast is 01. And we’re going to talk about why do we need hormones. It is really important for me to share the message of how important hormones are to our bodies. You know, hormones are made up from our endocrine system. And they’re basically the body’s chemical messengers. As part of that endocrine system, these hormones, you know, they travel throughout the bloodstream, they go into the tissues, they go into our organs, and literally every cell in the body is in dire need of hormones. And if the hormones are thrown off for whatever reason, we start to become symptomatic. And so it’s really important for us to understand a how important hormones are, what do they do in the body? Why are they important? Where do they come from? How am I going to feel if I don’t have hormones? Or if my hormones are off balance? What’s going on with them? And then secondarily, what do we do about that?
2:48And can I do something about it. So, you know, the endocrine system is responsible for what regulates our heart rate, our metabolism, our energy, foods that we eat our appetite, mood, sexual function, growth, development, sleep cycles, and just so much more. The endocrine system is just such an amazing system in our body. And it’s so important for us to have access to healthy sources to feed that endocrine system. You know, the hormones play a critical role in our chemistry between our body cells and our organs, they actually trigger different functions within different organs. And every hormone has a function in a different organ to for instance, our thyroid gland is a master hormone In my opinion, you know, it controls our metabolism, it controls controls our brain function, it controls our appetite, it controls so much of who we are our body temperature, regulation, all of that. And many times it’s just kind of pushed to the wayside. Like it’s not that important, or people really don’t have a big problem with it, and that women are just looking for thyroid to lose weight. And that’s so not true. You know, I I remember when I was a younger woman, I was about 28 years old and just really feeling rundown and burnt out and just not feeling like myself at all. And I was cold all the time and I was tired and my brain didn’t want to work and I was irritable and had no sex drive and just felt like crap honestly. And I was a nurse practitioner at that time and I had done a lot of research and I had narrowed it down to two things that I thought I had Fibromyalgia or Ms. Never once dawned on me that thyroid could have been a problem back then. But I had researched all my symptoms. And I was for certain that I had one of these two problems. And I remember going to my family doctor at the time and giving him all my symptoms and telling him what was going on. And I walked into the doctor’s office, and the medical assistant took me back. And it was, it was a 90 degree day in August in the Midwest, it was pretty warm out. I had a sweater on, and they took my temperature. And the guy looked at me very perplexed and said, Gosh, this, this thermometer must be broken because your temperatures 95. And, and there’s no way that could be possible. And he said, I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go grab another thermometer. And he came back with another thermometer and took my temperature again and 95.2. And he said, so something’s not right. This is two thermometers, I don’t think it’s you. Don’t worry about it, the doctor will bring it up if something’s wrong. And I really didn’t think much else of it after that, because I was there for you know, Ms or Fibromyalgia back then. And I was very conventionally minded back then I didn’t have an integrative approach to anything. And so the doctor came in and examined me and of course, never made mention at all about my temperature being 95 degrees. And I left with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, and two prescriptions, one for Prozac and one for narcotics. And he looked at me and said, Be prepared to be disabled in four years, this is what you have, it’s a debilitating condition. And we don’t really know what to do about it. And I remember feeling so devastated and so broken and, and thinking, gosh, I’m 28 years old, I just started my career as a nurse practitioner, and I have two children at home that are young, and what am I going to do, I walked out to my car and just sobbed just just broke down sobbing and I felt so lost and so alone. But luckily, I had back then some really wacky friends that I called them. And thank goodness, they’re still my friends today, even though I thought they were wacky back then, you know.
7:37And I called some of them up and said, Gosh, this is this is what’s going on. And I don’t know what to do. But I know one of you has to know somebody that can help me. And so one of my very dear friends Gail took me to her friend that was a nutritionist. And she got me on the path to eating healthy and taught me about nutrition and the importance of a healthy diet and got me off sugar. And talk to me about thyroid function. And again, I still really didn’t think anything of the temperature issue. For for several months after that, until one of my other friends took me to see someone else that was an integrative practitioner. And they said to me, are you sure you don’t have a thyroid issue? And I said, No, there’s no way I don’t have a thyroid issue and, and they said, Well, did they test your thyroid? And that was an aha moment because of course, they never tested my thyroid. And I started going home doing some research on thyroid and realized that Wait a minute, this could all be thyroid. My sister had a thyroid issue. My grandmother had a thyroid issue. My other grandmother had a thyroid issue. And I thought, wow, could this all be thyroid? And it wasn’t until a few years later that I actually started treating for fibroid because I couldn’t find a practitioner that would treat me back then. Nobody would draw my blood. Nobody would treat me I looked perfect. There was no way I could have underactive thyroid, I was then I didn’t have all of the signs and symptoms of a classic thyroid person. And so they ignored me. And that was really my first introduction to integrative medicine to hormonal health from a different perspective. I’ve always been a woman’s health nurse practitioner, I worked in fertility, I understood it all. I understood hormones, thyroid Everything inside and out. Except what came to me. When it came to me, I didn’t understand it like I should have understood it. But I learned, I learned very quickly. And I decided at that moment that no one under my watch as a practitioner is ever going to suffer from a thyroid condition. Because I was too lazy to check, or I was too. Too convinced, I guess is the word that somebody doesn’t have a thyroid problem, because they don’t fit the picture. And so from that point forward, I always looked at thyroid in every patient that complained about typical hormonal imbalances. And, and that’s, you know, the important piece of it. If your thyroid is off balance, the rest of your hormones can’t work. You can’t make estrogen. You can’t make progesterone, you can’t make thta, cortisol, all of it, none of it works properly, if the fiber is not working properly, nothing can communicate together if things aren’t doing that....

Debra Muth 0:02Welcome to Let’s talk wellness. Now I’m your host, Dr. Deb. This is where we talk about everything wellness, and learn to defy aging, and live our lives on our own terms.
Debra Muth 0:16I have the pleasure of interviewing Alison Keith today, who is a holistic skincare expert, and she loves changing the conversation around premature aging. In 2019, Alison and her husband Steve co founded fullstory skincare. with their family ties they’ve created and launched a direct to consumer brand selling premium quality plant based product. Alison saw a gap between the misinformation from the beauty industry marketing and advertising, to what actually was happening with science, and what they were doing to prevent and reversing the signs of aging. I’m so excited to be talking with Alison today. Because she is in her 40s she’s never opted for cosmetic injections. Nor is she self professed product junkie. And she has learned from cell biologists, chemists and skincare industry pioneers. Her passion is really about advocating for a more natural way of aging, without the harsh intensive chemicals, and procedures. So Alison and I are going to have this conversation today about skin and what’s really happening with the aging process. All you need to do is click on my calendly link here in the podcast notes. And hop on pick your time. And let’s start creating that amazing life that you’re looking for. Welcome back to the show everyone. I’m your host, Dr. Deb with let’s talk wellness now and I have a wonderful guest for you today. Alison Keith and Alison is going to talk to us about skincare and aging could not be a better topic for all of us. Because the reality is we’re all aging, right. And we want our skin to age gracefully. And we want it to look and feel as healthy and good as possible without having to do a lot of crazy things to make us look younger. Right. So Alison, welcome to the show. I’m so happy to have you. Hi, Dr. Deb. Thank you. I’m so glad to be here. So Alison, tell us how you got started in skincare and looking at this from an aging perspective. Yeah, so
Alison Keith 3:15I consider myself a holistic skincare expert. And but five years ago, I got involved with my husband’s family who has family ties in skincare. And I just started to kind of dive in and learn about it. And what I realized is there is a big gap between a lot of misinformation that’s coming to us from marketing and advertising in the beauty industry. And then what science says about how our skin is aging. And so from that about two years ago, my husband and I started our own brand called the whole story. Because even though I am you know passionate about skincare, my real passion is educating women who are getting misinformation that you know, possibly cosmetic procedures or, you know, really extreme, you know, measures to to prevent the signs of aging. And I think what I’ve learned when looking at the science is that our skin is incredibly resilient. It knows how to reverse the signs of aging when it’s healthy. And so we started the whole story we have about 14 skincare products, we have an essential system and then we have some anti aging systems as well but it’s really formulated for sensitive skin to prevent and reverse premature aging. Now lump that’s when I’m talking about premature aging. I am not talking about our genetics. Now all of us our skin started to age at about age 20. And about every year after that we lose about 1% of collagen and As we age, the natural functions of our skin just start to break down. So we start to make less hyaluronic acid, well, that causes less moisture in our skin, we start to make less acidic water, which causes our skin to become dehydrated. And so all of this is naturally happening. Now, what’s going on in our skin today is that due to the standard American diet due to our lifestyle, and due to environmental toxins, our skin is starting to age prematurely, which means all of these natural functions of our skin are now going to war with things like excessive sun exposure, or environmental toxins or toxic particles in the air. If you live, you know, in a in a large city, that combined with what we’re putting in our bodies, like, you know, gluten and dairy, and alcohol and sugar, all of that is actually causing our skin to possibly look up to 10 years older than our actual age.
Debra Muth 6:07Wow, that is a huge difference. Because you know, people don’t talk about this kind of thing, we talk a little bit about what we put in our bodies and how it reflects our skin. But you rarely hear people talk about the toxins. And I think that’s important because too, when we look at traditional skincare lines, they’re full of all kinds of toxic chemicals, or chemicals in that nature, if we want to just call it that things we can’t pronounce. And those things can’t possibly be good for our skin can they?
Alison Keith 6:38No and then also, you know, when you talk to women, you know, 20s 30s 40s, they are being told the message that our culture is getting is to inject your skin, with Botox or with fillers, and to use, you know, really harsh anti aging chemicals to really shock your skin and to stop it from showing signs of aging. And what we know now is that the body doesn’t necessarily respond well, you know, to being shocked. And sometimes I compare the skincare industry to Western medicine, where it’s kind of popular to put a bandaid on the problem, or write a prescription or do something immediately to make the symptoms go away. And that’s not how the body responds, and the skin is no different. So as a company as a brand, I really want to change the conversation around skincare and really align our brand with functional medicine, which goes to the root cause and addressing the root cause to really stop. You know, the problem from persisting and getting worse, I like to kind of explain it, like getting your teeth professionally whitened because they look beautiful, and they look clean and radiant. Well. It’s, it’s a cosmetic procedure, it’s your teeth have been, you know, professionally whitened. But you still need to brush, you still need to floss and you still need to get your your cleaning. And so that’s kind of how we can look at what’s going on in procedures, and then how you can actually reduce and prevent premature aging in your skin on a daily basis.
Debra Muth 8:28So awesome. You know, and I think one of the things that people don’t realize is, skin is an organ of our body. It’s actually the largest organ of our body. And when we’re talking about skin health, we’...

And this amazing center that she’s created as a result of something that she went through. So welcome to the show.
Karese Laguerre 3:49Thank you for having me. It’s so such a pleasure to be here. Thank you.
Debra Muth 3:53So Chris, tell us your story. I always love to start with people’s stories, because that’s where all the meat and potatoes is. Tell us about your story and your children because they were they suffered some sleep issues. And that’s kind of what got you on this journey. Correct?
Karese Laguerre 4:08Yes, absolutely. So I think that as a parent, that’s always going to be the Spurs so many wonderful adventures we wind up on is definitely the children. But I started my career as a registered dental hygienist and in working as a registered dental hygienist. I was working for this fabulous pediatric dentist who kind of put together some dots for me. So what I think as parents we tend to do is we hold a lot inside so somebody will come by and they’ll ask, you know, how’s everything and you tend to just give them all the good stuff like yay, Johnny’s doing great and soccer and you know, we’ve got ballet on Monday for Susan, something that’s so light and fluffy and it makes your world sound amazing. But the reality of my personal situation was that my son, my eldest and my only son had a big issue with impulse and behavioral control ADHD and for a long time, we ignored it. And it got really bad to the point where now we had to medicate it and really pay heavy attention to it. And then my oldest daughter had every sleep issue under the sun. I mean, you name it, she suffered with it. So whether it was sleepwalking, sleep talking night terrors, bedwetting, everything and it was consistent every single night, there was something going on for 10 years, the first 10 years of her life, it was major. And then the younger two, we just felt like we you know, my husband, at one point told me that we should just ask for a keg on the prescription for the antibiotics because we’re just back and forth so much with them with the year and throat infections and constant constant congestion. But it was my pediatric dentist that actually was the one who kind of put together all that. So while there were a myriad of things going on in my home, and it manifested in different ways. He was the way in which they were breathing and using their oral facial muscles that were really impacting their upper respiratory system, their sleep, and therefore everything else declined as a result with their health. So that sent me down a rabbit hole, and got me into what I do now. myofunctional therapy and helping both children and adults alike, discover functioning on full from better sleep better breathing.
Debra Muth 6:27That’s amazing. And you know, so many times we don’t ever think of our oral facial muscles impacting our sleep. So it was really just kind of a blessing that your pediatric dentist saw them and kind of uncovered this.
Karese Laguerre 6:44Yes, absolutely. Working with a lot of stuff, so a lot of different appliances and so forth. Because right now, I think dentistry is going on that trajectory where they’re starting to work more with sleep and different appliances. But very little do we think about the impact that that might have as a youth, on children, their sleep matters to their at these critical stages where, you know, they don’t get in that stage three of sleep, that’s the only time when human growth hormone is secreted. And so they’re missing a lot of their growth potential. There’s a lot of impact and be just on their sleep or their behavior, but actually their growth and development if they’re not actually cycling through the way that they should in their sleep stages.
Debra Muth 7:29Absolutely. You know, and there’s so many kids that struggle, like you said, with the bedwetting and the walking and the night terrors and all of these things. And we keep looking for infections or neurotransmitter imbalances, or are they on the spectrum somehow, but we don’t look often to what’...

Debra Muth 0:02Welcome to Let’s talk wellness. Now, I’m your host, Dr. Deb. This is where we talk about everything wellness, and learn to defy aging, and live our lives on our own terms.

Debra Muth 3:00Hey, welcome back. This is Dr. Deb from let’s talk wellness now. And I have the pleasure of speaking with Rachel Freiman who’s going to talk to us about fat loss, not necessarily weight loss, but fat loss. And she’s got a way that we can eat donuts and still lose fat. Is that right, Rachel?
Rachel Freiman 3:18That is right. I know it sounds too good to be true. But yeah, 100% I always like to joke that, um, it’s not really a joke. But I always say that if someone held a gun to my head and said, Listen, you get to choose a life and fitness, or a life that includes doughnuts hands down door. But this is not a competition, my priorities are very straight on that.
Debra Muth 3:36You and me be both!
Rachel Freiman 3:39And the beautiful thing is you don’t have to choose because there there absolutely is a way to do both. And it’s not a quick fix fad diet. It’s a sustainable lifestyle. I’m excited to jump into that with you,
Debra Muth 3:50Oh, I’m so excited to hear this. Because so many times when we’re talking about diet, it’s restrictive. It’s give up this give up that you can’t cheat, you can’t do anything. And that’s just not realistic, you know, you’re gonna have that wonderful wedding. And those people have an amazing wedding cake that you want to just have a little bit of, and if that blows your whole diet, and you have to reset your metabolism for 90 days, because you have that one piece of something. Most of us can’t do that. We want that sustainable life.
Rachel Freiman 4:18Yeah. And that what you just said is hitting the nail on the head. You know, there, I there’s an extra I have a book. It’s called becoming mind strong on Amazon. And one of the exercises we do in the book is we actually make a chart with three columns. And we list every single diet you’ve ever tried in your life. So for some people that’s 50 for some people, that’s 550. Yeah. And then we list the logistics. And then we list at the end after we do some mindset work, why the diet was never destined to last. And what we find is exactly what you just said, as human beings. We’re designed. We’re pleasure seeking creatures. We’re designed to avoid pain and seek pleasure. And every single diet, whether it’s 50 or 550. They’re the same diet at their core, whether it’s low Whether it’s keto, whether it’s low fat, whether shape systems, they’re designed to put horse blinders on and say, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, these are good foods, these are bad foods, these are allowed, these are not allowed. And that is completely pushing against human nature that we are not designed to live in a state of restriction like that. So when we put those horse blinders on, and we try to say I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, we’ve all been down this path, right? We’re on great havior for like five days a week, maybe three weeks. But then when we cave, we don’t just cave, we cave and we binge. And we say, well, I’ve already ruined it, I had one piece of cake, why not have three pieces of cake right. And I’ll start again, Monday, I’ll start again Monday. And there, there’s two pieces to this that are just the the key to the Holy Grail. And the first is getting out of this all in all out mindset. And the second is getting away from this restrictive nature. And that’s exactly what when I talk about nutrition being a learnable skill, and why we can eat doughnuts and lose weight. It’s because there’s no more of this good food, bad food, it’s the idea of not living off restriction and fitting in everything into what I call your your budget.
Debra Muth 6:07I love that. Because if you you know, it’s kind of like if you’ve got a bucket, and when the buckets full, you’re full, we get that. And however we want to fill that bucket with whatever is that what we’re talking about here, something similar to that.
Rachel Freiman 6:22But that’s a great analogy. The analogy I always used as a financial budget. So if I hand you 100 bucks and say, Here you go, this is your 100 bucks to spend, the only rule is it doesn’t roll over, you have to spend it all today. Well, now you have the freedom of choice, you could make little purchases throughout the day, you could go on a shopping spree in the morning and be stingy at night, you could hoard your money all day and go shopping. And it doesn’t matter to your $100. So when we approach nutrition as a skill, it’s called macro tracking. An...
