Letters From Home

Let’s face it. Most of us struggle with worrying about what other people think, and keeping up a good image. Sometimes though, left unchecked, it can lead to a hard path, and hidden choices. Jernise walks us from her happy childhood through her conflicted and transformational thirties…with choices she never thought she would make, and trials she never thought she would face. Her loving God gently transformed her, from the inside out, and kept her, all along the way. And today, she stands strong, in her own shoes, with her little daughter hand-in-hand.

This episode was made possible by Jernise’s loving parents, Jervins & Tina Young, who raised her in love, and are still walking alongside her & her daughter.

The Passion Translation: Psalm 139:5-“You have gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me, to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me.”

How many of us can say the worst time in our lives was the best time. Dominique Young can. For her, the joys of motherhood unexpectedly turned into a crucible of pain…and misdiagnosis. Thankfully, her story doesn’t end there. Her season of affliction led her to a beautiful ministry, one which any Mama can participate in.

Job 23:10-“But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Have you ever seen a girl wandering around the red light district or on the streets scantily clad…and u know what she’s doing…and it breaks your heart, and you just pray & wonder where her parents are, and what happened? When tragedy comes, it affects everything. But through tragedy, hope can bloom. In the Bible Hebrews 6:19 says “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul…” Heidi’s story is about the hope that has anchored her life. She takes us through her darkest…and hardest days… and in every step you see her faith in her ever present Lord…who is holding her up…guiding her path…through valleys and leading her to beautiful but rocky pastures…pastures of forgiveness…healing…and ultimately, pleasant gardens. Truly our God is the great designer of the landscape of our lives.

In her story, you will hear her unwavering determination to serve in far-off lands, her years of struggle and pain to get there, and her rising as a phoenix from the ashes, to soar into a vast ministry the Lord had prepared for her.
