We start out today’s episode talking about Brian Flores and his lawsuit against the NFL for discrimination in their hiring practices. We mention how Hue Jackson’s comments actively hurt the validity of real claims. We revisit the Kyle Beech/Blackhawks fiasco after Rocky Wirtz acts like a spoiled baby at his first media availability since the incident came to light. John finally gets to see Spider Man: No Way Home, we discuss the movie, and the future of the MCU and compare it to what DC has been able to accomplish. As always for our Monday (Tuesday) episode, we finish off with our grievances and gratitudes of the past week.

FIFA President puts his foot in his mouth again while still trying to sell his biennial World Cup idea. Dave explains to John what robot umpires, and why he’s not fully on board with the change. We try and figure out how the UFC is only paying guys $10,000 to get their skull caved in while being a billion dollar company. Dave gives John a primer on Evander Kane’s history, and why new and prospective teammates wouldn’t speak out against him joining the team. Finally, we introduce a new segment, “Would You Rather”.

  • MLB Hall of Fame is a joke

    Send a text

Fresh off going a combined 1-3 in their picks, Dave and John start the show talking about the Championship Sunday games they had just watched. Dave rants about how stupid the MLB Hall of Fame is, and how the reporters who vote on it care more about bringing attention to themselves then making rational decisions about the Hall of Fame. In honour of reports leaking that James Harden will test free agency in the off-season, we talk about our favourite over hyped failures in sports. We spend a few minutes discussing Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger retiring. We also discuss if we just witnessed the golden age of quarterbacks, or if it’s an ever evolving position and the next generation will always surpass the old ones. We finish off this Monday’s episode with our usual grievances and bright spots of the week.

  • If you want the flowers, you gotta take the shit

We begin by talking about another potential Westbrook for Wall trade. Revisit the crazy story of Ben Simmons and how it kind of floated away. We discuss how we view certain athletes who took stances in the media and how our opinion has or hasn’t changed amid the fluctuating covid policies. We then try and figure out if the credit or blame of a GM is always deserved because of unforeseen circumstances, or if the result is the result and they have to live with the outcome.

Dave begins the episode thanking the birthday Gods that Tom Brady was eliminated from the playoffs today. John explains why he’s seemed to be emotional about Wrestling and how it’s perceived lately. Dave and John discuss “The Next 5” in the NBA 75 debate, and end up battling about Vince Carter’s legacy. We dissect John’s abysmal trivia performance. And we finish off by trying to make sense as to why sports franchises are allowed to suffer and fail rather then move to a potentially better situation.

  • All in our feels

In this one we discuss soft as baby shit Russell Westbrook for complaining that Sacramento plays a song after he bricks a shot. We talk about Novak Djokivic and his clusterfuck trying to get into Australia. We discuss how we normally resolve conflicts and how that has changed as we’ve gotten older. And then John keeps it deep by asking what each of us think we are known for, and what we’d like to be known for that maybe other people don’t always see. And we finish it off with a grievance of the week and a happy moment of the week.

  • A Night With Fourteen Twenty Sports

    Send a text

Tonight the boys from Fourteen Twenty Sports joined us, we jumped back and forth between topics a bit. We spoke about how our Albertan friends agree with John’s disgust over An American Underdog. We talk Ben Roethlisberger’s Hall of Fame resume. Our conversation leads us down the path of reminiscing about Kawhi’s buzzer beater against Philly. Us 4 Canadians do our best to discuss College football, and if it’s impossible to hope for more then moral victories if you don’t cheer for the top 3-5 teams. Thanks to Dave and Brent for joining us for this very fun episode. We look forward to talking again in the future.

  • The truth lies somewhere in between

In today’s episodes we discuss the bizarre situation Antonio Brown finds himself in…again. Who are we to believe about what really happened? Kyle Lowry gets inexplicably ejected from a game for underhand tossing a ball towards the ref, and that leads to a conversation about which sport has the worst refs. Fred VanVleet is having a star level all-around season, why isn’t anyone talking about it, other then us? Pope Francis found it necessary to let everyone know what he thinks about how many kids people are having in the first world, and called kid-less, pet owners selfish. Dave has a rude encounter with a grocery store employee, and John complains his job is too hard…again.

  • Who Could Hate an American Underdog?

    Send a text

Dave hates attention and praise. Haters gonna hate as John spews vitriol over Kurt Warner’s new movie. We talk about the influence John Madden had on our football fandom. Can/Will Derrick Henry break the single-season carries record? We break the news about school being shut down for two more weeks, and discuss new Covid restrictions at sporting events. Mario Lemieux turns $24 million owed to him into $350 million. Jake Paul and Dana White’s “beef”. And as always we finish off with our grievances and happy moments of the week. We recorded this episode remotely, so the sound quality didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to. The release was also delayed because we were working to get the sound to be even as good as it turned out. Hope you all enjoy the episode!
