Today, John and Dave are back behind the mic after a long absence, so they begin by giving all their friends recorded evidence of their mistakes and how smart they think they are by going over our fantasy draft and how we think it went. Spoiler alert, we're obviously geniuses. John runs through the first few weeks of college football news. John is bored with inter league play, and to be honest, Dave liked it better the old way as well. Bunting is so fucking stupid, please stop doing it. With Tom Brady preparing for his career after football, who do we think have been the most successful athletes in their post-playing careers, both those who stayed in the spotlight, and those who chose to be more private. Vlad Jr. says he wants to be a Blue Jay for life, how do we feel about this? Does it even really mean anything?

Dave is joined by WCBL umpire and cohost of the 1420 Sports Bar podcast to discuss the malicious balk call, called on Kevin Gausman by umpire Jeff Nelson, who is the same umpire that was awful in 2015 during the Jays playoff run, and also had an efficiency rating under 70% against the Jays earlier this year.

With fantasy football season quickly approaching, we discuss how we feel about our keeper selections, and discussing our levels of optimism heading into the draft. We also talk about how bad a QB Drew Locke must be to lose a position battle to Geno Smith, and how do you really move forward from something as demoralizing as that? There always seems to be something going on behind the scenes with France leading up to the World Cup, and this year is no different. John gives us the low down on a wild story involving Paul Pogba and his family. The Jays get swept by the Angels, play a few extra inning games against inferior opponents, is this something to worry about, or just part of the ebbs and flow of a long regular season?

John Shefter was first to report that Kevin Durant would in fact be suiting up for the Nets this season, and would not be traded in the off-season. Congrats to him on this accomplishment, somewhere, Woj is crying, knowing that he's been bested. Phil Kessel takes some shots at Arizona after he signs with Vegas, which is justified, but should we be really that concerned about what Phil Kessel is saying? Chet Holmgren gets hurt during Jamal Crawford's Basketball Pro-Am event and will be out for the year. Is this irresponsible, should his decision making change for the future? Patrick Beverly to the Lakers, what a hilarious addition to this team, which has his long-time enemy Russell Westbrook already. Trevor Zegras and Sarah Nurse make the cover for NHL 23, what are our thoughts? Also, help us decide what movie o discuss on The Geeky Dad Podcast, we are picking a sports movie that has kids in it.

Today's episode we start out talking about LeBron James new extension, that gives him the option of opting out during Bronny's draft year, and also makes him the highest paid player in the league by a lot. Dave tells a story about an encounter he witnessed at the drive thru, and then John completely cucks him with a way better story that he didn't even plan on telling, 'cause why would you tell on interesting story when you're hosting a podcast? Kamaru Usman had his sights on cementing his legacy as the best MMA fighter ever, but then Leon Edwards kicked him in the face and changed the whole trajectory of his career. We discuss who public apologies are for, and if they have any value, as Ezra Miller publicly apologizes for his recent horrific behaviour. Everyone's favourite ladies man Andrew Tate continues to make friends and got himself banned from basically every social media platform, will that change how much I see him on my FYP, because I've had enough please. The Deshaun Watson appeal process is done, we finally have a punishment, how do we feel about it? Did the NFL finally get it right? Udonis Haslem (yeah, that old fart is still alive) scheduled an announcement about his playing future, who the hell does this guy think he is? Do you have to have a big three in the NBA to win, or can someone like Luca Doncic get it done by himself? Mark Cuban is betting he can, what do you think?

Today was a bit of a wild one. We start off light, talking about the steroid era, and how it informs our opinions about the baseball history books. We stay in the baseball realm and laugh at the idiocy of Rodolfo Castro running the bases with his phone in his pocket, and having it fall out while he slides into third base. We then discuss embarrassing work stories, and some of the situations we've found ourselves in. We ask, and try to answer the question, why does it seem like far more athletes are demanding/requesting trades these days. This is where things take a turn, where we discuss Serena Williams and her impending retirement, and then we get into a heated debate about how you define the greatest player of all time, in the context of comparing Serena Williams to her male counterparts. We then took a hard right turn, and discussed kids birthdays, and some of the best ones we've been a part of. We went to Twitter for this weeks Would You Rather, we got a bunch of good suggestions, but we read a couple from Two Idiots and a Dog Podcast (https://t.co/2MUYjiUzQI) and Cody from Dungeons and Podcast.

Dave and John begin today's episode discussing the Hockey Canada scandal, and display their disgust and disbelief towards how they've hidden these allegations over the years. Then we keep the good times going by discussing the Deshaun Watson suspension in the wake of all of his sexual assault accusations. We then transition into sharing stories of our dogs being viciously attacked by skunks. MLB Trade Deadline has come and gone, lots has changed, we discuss some of the leagues bigger news. Kevin Durant has reiterated his desire to be traded, and says he won't play for the Nets unless the coach and GM are both fired. John gushes about the debut of the newest WWE Superstar, Logan Paul. We discuss the potential Jake Paul/KSI fight, and wonder if they will actually fight, or if they are just keeping their names in the news until they get into the situations they actually want.

In today's episode, the last before John comes back, Don makes his triumphant return. After giving up podcasting, he makes a special exception to join us and shoot the shit. There was a list of topics, I think we hit most of them. We spoke about Zach Wilson, and his relationship with his moms friends, and how his ex girlfriend feels about those relationships. We talk about the MLB All-Star game, Alek Manoah mic'd up, who cares about the all-star game? We discuss why all the Americans in the NHL hate Calgary. Dave fabricates an NHL conspiracy theory that makes too much sense not to be true. We finish off with our grievances and gratitudes, and Dave actually comes up with a gratitude for once.

Today, Dave is joined by Brent from the 1420 Sports Bar Podcast, and Dave takes the opportunity to respond to some takes he's heard while listening to their show. They discuss if Vancouver could support a Major League Baseball franchise. Is Yankees/Red Sox still the best rivalry in sports, and how rivalries have changed over the years. Brent, a WCBL umpire, who is getting ready to umpire in his first all-star game, tells the story of his two ejections that happened recently, and why he was definitely totally justified. We discuss who the best player in baseball is, and why it's not Aaron Judge. Chris Sale snaps, again. The Blue Jays fired Charlie Montoyo. How do we see the rest of the season going in the AL East? Brent introduces us to a new segment from his show, Nozzle or not a Nozzle, where Brent makes a list of people he thinks is a nozzle, and looks for you to confirm his opinion.
