In this episode Jeff jumps on another podcast with an old friend DJ Jose Zouain, whose brother JJ took his own life 6 months after being discharged from the Navy. JJ had been treated at the VA and Jeff and Zouain discuss the dominant treatments being used at the VA and elsewhere and have a lively discussion about what PTSD is. This episode is a different format for the show in that this audio was recorded for Zouain's own podcast with the understanding that Life After PTSD would also air it with edits. We bleeped out any profanity that was used but otherwise preserved the message for the purpose of transparency and authenticity.

We believe the evidence and research demonstrates that Post Traumatic Stress is not a disorder but rather an injury that can heal (see https://bit.ly/3oYxcbZ). Each week we tell stories of clients who are creating a new normal of their deciding, free of trauma and PTSD, and the counselors, therapists and coaches using evidence based memory re-consolidation techniques to help them do it.
⚖️ The show is intended to provide encouragement for the listener but is not a substitute for proper treatment. Please seek help from a qualified mental health provider.
