3/14. My quitiversary. This year marks 5 years from when I quit my 11 year career as a manufacturing engineer.
This episode is about what has made the biggest impact on me being able to...
1) Finally learn what I want to do until I'm 80. Hint: it's teaching you how to make tons of money doing what you love to do.
2) Gain the skills to do it. Hint: I use those skills to help you make tons of money coaching. :)
Blurting out on your sales page that you offer X coaching sessions for Y dollars comes from what YOU want.
It does not offer the information that your clients need to hear for them to tackle their issues.
Showing up with a service mindset is offering them the information they need in order to get to where they want to be.
Launches can feel like... a lot. Listen to how to plan and execute your launch while staying organized and avoiding overwhelm.
You can find the exact tool that I use at bjbutler.com/014
"No one will pay me for my coaching"
"Marketing is too hard/expensive"
If these first two myths sound familiar... the next two will probably resonate as well. You need to hear this!
Have you ever committed yourself to a big goal... and then questioned everything when you suffered a setback? It's very easy to write down a goal that you've been dreaming of. Because, we dream of the glory, praise, rewards... NOT the work and pain required to achieve it. When you experience a setback...
But, what you do next is what matters.
I messed up. I didn't do my market research. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but that was actually part of the process.
Not that I planned to have to redo 2 hours of content creation, but I have no regrets about it.
Because, when you plan on doing B minus work, several things happen...
Many coaches find extremely compelling ways to get out of writing their weekly email to their audience (exact frequency is up to you). Daycare fell through, clients needed extra help, computer decided to be super slow... They may all be facts, but they are not the true reason why your email didn't get sent. Find out the real reason and how to get those email open and click rates to go up once you are repeatedly delivering value to your audience.
You probably already use a calendar and a to-do list, but are you using them correctly? I know that sounds ridiculous, but listen to how to get the most out of these tools you are already using. They can be the most powerful tools you use everyday.
A captivating, free lead magnet can lead to an engaged audience that is ready for your help to get them from where they are to where they want to be. But, it's free. And, that leads most coaches to put a commensurate amount of time into creating it. What they naturally want to put the most, nearly all, of their time into is perfectly curating their coaching offer. On the surface, it makes sense. When a client purchases coaching, you get money and an opportunity to serve, to make a difference in that person's life. The free offer ends up feeling like an after thought. Listen to why you should put just a little more value into your free lead magnet than you are naturally inclined to do and how to do it.
