The Montana Case On Religious Schools

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. The Supreme Court struck down a Montana law that prevented tax-payer funding for religious schools. This is great news for parents and Christian schools. Education dollars should follow the child to the school of the parents’ choice. However, it’s bad news for the Constitution. The Constitution does not give the federal government any authority at all to meddle with the internal religious affairs of the individual states. As Clarence Thomas said, only Congress, and by extension the federal government, is bound by the First Amendment. Religious affairs under the Constitution are to be entirely within the province of the States. Montana is allowed to do anything it wishes with the regulation of religion. Judicial activism went our way this time. But what if it goes the other way the next time?

The George Washington Of The Cherokee Nation Owned Slaves

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Cherokee nation, along with four other Indian tribes, were relocated to Oklahoma along the infamous Trail of Tears. What most people don’t know is that prominent members of every one of these tribes owned black slaves and shipped them en masse aboard cramped boats to their new territory. According to the Smithsonian, these tribes were deeply committed to slavery, established their own racialized black codes, immediately reestablished slavery in Indian territory, rebuilt their nations with slave labor, and enthusiastically sided with the Confederacy in the Civil War. The lesson: every people group - white, black, red, and brown - has things in its history to be ashamed of. Maybe we should be a little slower to condemn people who don’t look like us and extend the grace of Christ instead.

Bryan Fischer with the Life and LIberty Minute. The real issue in November is not Trump versus Biden, or Republican versus Democrat. The issue is simple: do you like America as it was founded? If you do, you will vote for Donald Trump. If you hate America as founded, as regressives do, and you want us to become like Europe, you will vote for the other guy. The American Revolution was energized by Christian faith, a profound belief in biblical values, and a hunger for freedom. The French Revolution was built on a rejection of everyone of the values of the Founders. Churches were destroyed and desecrated, clergy were sent the guillotine, there was blood in the streets, and politicians were about control, not freedom. The reelection of our incumbent president looks like the only thing that will protect us from the collapse of the American experiment.

The Number Of Blacks Killed By Being Lynched In An Abortion

Bryan Fischer with the Life and Liberty Minute. Lynching was a terrible part of our past. It involved vigilante justice with people taking the law into their own hands. While thirteen hundred whites were lynched overall, the primary victims have been black Americans. According to the Equal Justice Initiative, four thousand and eighty four blacks have been lynched in the history of the United States. That’s horrible. But consider this: through abortion, we lynch more than four thousand black babies EVERY FIVE DAYS. Planned Parenthood puts 79% of its clinics in minority neighborhoods, almost as if they are targeting black babies. I believe all lives matter, which of course means that black lives matter too. But if we’re going to get serious about how much black lives matter, maybe we should start thinking about the ones in the womb.

“Fret not yourself because of evildoers, for they will soon fade like the grass and wither.” Bryan Fischer here. It’s easy to get all worked up over what’s going on in our culture, but that’s not the way for the people of God. Those that are wreaking so much havoc today seem to have power - but they have no root in God and cannot last. My nickname for my bride is the mother of all living, because if it’s alive she wants to nurture it. She’s planted beautiful flowers in the beds in front of our home, and even puts little umbrellas over them on hot days, because she knows it doesn't take long for plants to die in the direct heat of the sun. God tells not to be consumed with worry, because evildoers will in time be exposed to the direct intensity of God’s wrath and wither away to nothing. “In just a little while, the wicked will be no more.” Let’s claim that promise today.

The Counsel Of Jesus On The Media

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. We’ve just seen another mad rush to judgment by the Talking Snake Media, this time over a noose hanging in a NASCAR driver’s garage. After the entire nation had been whipped into a froth, the noose turned out to be a pull rope for the garage door. Remember that Jesus said, “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” The media is so bent on distorting the truth to attack American values that we must refuse to believe what they say until we can confirm what they are telling us. As the people of God, especially in these emotionally charged times, we must learn to be skeptical of everything we hear from the media so that we make our judgments based on facts and not lies. We must+++++++ find sources of information we can trust so that we are not duped by the charlatans who pretend to tell the truth.

What Attack On Statues Of Jesus Reveal

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. Regressives are now arguing that statues of Jesus should be torn down and stained glass windows bearing his image should be destroyed. This at last reveals what the left is really all about. Regressives today have a deep-seated, demonically inspired hatred of Christianity. They hate everything about it, from its celebration of Jesus as the Savior of mankind, to its insistence that we are all sinners, to its declaration that marriage is the union of one man and one woman, to its declaration that there are two and only two genders, male and female. We right now are in a battle for the survival of Christian civilization. The left wants to remove Christianity from America’s public life altogether. If we want a future for our children and grandchildren, we cannot let them get away with it.

What Happens When Police Are Removed?

“If you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.” Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. Police are God’s idea, not man. God has delegated his authority to them to restrain evil. So what happens when man dismisses the wisdom of God and tries to abolish or restrict the police? In Seattle’s autonomous zone, there are reports of numerous shootings in the last few days, and rioters kept emergency personnel from even getting to a gunshot victim. He died. In Minneapolis, where the city council has voted to abolish the police, one shooting left 11 people wounded and one person dead. In New York, 22 people were shot after the mayor reduced police presence in the city. Man’s way leads to violence and death. God’s way leads to peace and stability.

There Is Only One Race

Bryan Fischer with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Here are several abiding truths to remember in these days of racial unrest. First, there is in truth only one race, the human race. We’re all descended from one set of parents. Second, the law is colorblind. Lady Justice wears a blindfold because justice does not see race or skin color or class or gender. Her one concern is with conduct, not the color of someone’s skin. Third, no one should be punished or blamed for the wrong his ancestors did. The Bible says, “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.” There will be no peace until we stop blaming people for what their forefathers did.
