Shame On Neil Gorsuch

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Neil Gorsuch issued the most wretched opinion in Supreme Court history this week. The Constitution forbids the Court to legislate from the bench. Article I declares, and I quote, “all legislative power is vested in Congress.” All means all. That leaves zero, zip, nada, zilch legislative power to the Court. But that didn’t stop Gorsuch from rewriting a 1964 civil rights law by redefining the word “sex” and granting, not equal rights, but special rights based on sexually deviant behavior. We supported Gorsuch’s nomination because he promised us he would be an originalist and would not legislate from the bench. He either lied to us or doesn’t have the character to keep his promises. Gorsuch has now enshrined sexual depravity and mental illness as fundamental civil rights. Shame on him.

Gorsuch’s Betrayal

Bryan Fischer here. Neil Gorsuch betrayed the trust that President Trump placed in him and we placed in him. We vigorously supported his nomination to the Supreme Court because we had assurances that he would apply the Constitution as written and would not rewrite the Constitution from the bench. But this is exactly what he did. He changed the meaning of the word “sex” on the fly from “male or female” to whatever somebody thinks he is. In one giant leap of illogic, he abandoned biological science, the Constitution, the law, and even the dictionary to reach his tortured conclusion. The consequences of his activist opinion will be felt for decades. The one hope at this point is that the 29 governors whose states do not provide special protections for deviant sexuality will rise up and say, “The justice has issued his opinion; now let him enforce it.”

Abiding Truths In A Day of Race Riots

“He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth.” Bryan Fischer with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Here are several abiding truths to remember in these days of race riots. Number one, there is in truth only one race, the human race. We are all descended from one set of parents. There is just one human family. Second, the law is colorblind. Lady Justice wears a blindfold because her one concern is with conduct, not with the color of someone’s skin. And third, no one should be punished or blamed for the wrong his ancestors did, but only for the wrong he has done. Thomas Sowell puts it this way: “Have we reached the ultimate stage of absurdity where some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, while other people are not held responsible for what they themselves are doing today?”

More People Saw Christ Alive Than Saw Abraham Lincoln Dead

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Christianity is often accused of representing some kind of irrational and blind leap of faith. But it most emphatically is not. Christianity is rooted and grounded in a stubborn, historical fact: the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The Scriptures tell us that there were well over 500 eyewitnesses who saw the empty tomb and saw Christ alive after they had seen him die. There were only 46 eyewitnesses to the journey of Lewis and Clark to the Pacific, but nobody doubts that they did it. More people saw Christ alive than saw Abraham Lincoln die, but nobody doubts the fact of his assassination. Don’t let anybody plant doubt in your mind. Historical evidence says Lewis and Clark made it to the Pacific, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, and Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

Let’s Not Blame People For What Their Ancestors Did

Moses says, “Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.” Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. It is unjust and unbiblical to blame one generation for the sins of another. The Bible is clear that no one is to be held accountable for what his father did - he should only be held accountable for what he himself has done. And yet today grievance warriors routinely assign guilt to people today for things that were done by their ancestors 400 years ago. This must stop. It is a terribly divisive habit that will tear our cultural fabric beyond repair if it continues. If a man today is truly racist, he should be held to account for that, but not for the racism of his ancestors. That is the path of peace and reconciliation.
