It’s Not Wrong To Lie To The Evil To Protect The Innocent

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. In World War Two, many people like Corrie Ten Boom lied to the Nazis to protect innocent Jews hiding in their homes. Is what they did right or wrong? A story from ancient Israel may help. In the days of Moses, the Hebrew midwives refused to kill newborn male babies when Pharaoh ordered them to because they feared God. They lied to Pharaoh when he asked them about it, saying the Hebrew women were so vigorous the babies were already born by the time they got there. Rather than rebuke these midwives, God honored them, blessing them with families of their own. The lesson: it is not wrong to lie to the evil to protect the innocent. When we lie, we are usually protecting the evil - that’s us - from the innocent, the people we are lying to - and that’s wrong. But there was everything right about lying to Nazis to protect innocent Jews.

Navy Names Ship After Homosexual Pedophile

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Harvey Milk was a homosexual who enlisted in the Navy in the 1950s as a diving instructor. He soon received a dishonorable discharge for criminal sexual activity in a city park. He also had used his off-base apartment to seduce sailors passing through the base on their way to Korea. He then committed the statutory rape of a 16-year old boy who eventually threw himself off an 8-story building in despair after Milk dumped him. He became the first openly homosexual elected official in the U.S., where he was mainly noted for his enthusiastic support of Jim Jones, who got 900 people to drink lethal Kool-Aid in the jungles of South America. But the U.S. Navy, if you can believe it, is actually naming a ship in his honor. Harvey Milk’s name may belong in a Hall of Shame somewhere but does not belong on the side of a vessel in the United States Navy.

Warren Buffett’s Eternal Punishment

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Warren Buffett, one of the richest men in the world, has given more than one and a half billion dollars to the baby butchers at Planned Parenthood. In the last two decades, he has paid for 2.7 million abortions. In Dante’s Inferno, the 7th Circle of Hell is reserved for those committed sins of violence and murder in this life. In 1984, former abortionist Bernard Nathanson produced a documentary called the Silent Scream, which showed a baby in the womb opening his mouth in a silent scream as the abortionist began his horrible work. When Buffett stands before the judge of the living and the dead, the screams will no longer be silent. It may be that Buffett will spend eternity listening to the screams and the shrieks from the millions of babies whose blood is on his head. Perhaps that’s what Jesus meant by weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus: The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. One of the striking things about Luke’s account of the early church is his account of miracles. Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead, Peter raised Dorcas from the dead, and Paul raised a young man from the dead. Each of them healed the sick and delivered people from demons. The point is simple: the same power that was at work in Jesus was also at work in Peter and in Paul. According to Acts 1:1, the gospel of Luke is the record of what Jesus began to do and teach, which means Acts is the record of what Jesus continued to do and teach through his indwelling presence in his followers. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What Jesus did in his incarnation he did again in Peter and then Paul. And in the same way he is available in our day to do remarkable things through us. Let’s believe him for big things.

Left Can’t Defeat Us So Try To Shut Us Up

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. As soon as Saul, who became Paul, was radically saved, he began to declare the truth about Jesus. And as soon as he did that, his former allies in Satan’s kingdom tried to silence him. Acts 9:22 says, “Saul confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.”The word “confounded” means to baffle or to confuse. So did the enemies of the truth try to improve their arguments against Saul? No, they plotted to kill him. This is what regressives do. They cannot defeat us in the realm of public debate, the realm of ideas, so the only thing they can do is use force to neutralize us and silence us. That’s why they kick us off Twitter and Facebook and college campuses all across the country. Well, they couldn’t stop Paul and they won’t be able to stop us either.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Michael Horowitz’s Inspector General’s report is like a 7.0 earthquake that has rocked the regressive cabal to its very roots. His report has revealed what they thought they had buried - that FBI agents violated FBI protocol fifty-one times and included nine outright lies in their official documents. If these rogue agents had listened to the words of Jesus they could have saved themselves, their careers and their reputations from public humiliation. For Jesus said in Luke 12, “What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the rooftops.” But they thought they knew better and are now paying a bitter price for their treasonous behavior. If they didn’t have a reason to follow the teachings of Jesus before, they sure do now.
