We're back with another coaching cast. In this coaching session, I uncovered a blind spot in my life — the value of being. I'm in the process of learning how to active my inner observer and learning how to surrender to control so that I can focus on being present — in my mind, body and spirit.

This week on the show, I reflect on the value of rest —asserting rest as the vehicle that will facilitate the care needed to focus on a recovery strategy for burnout. I'm learning how to strive at work in healthy and productive ways, and share a few strategies from Dr. Diana Hill, that I have found helpful as guideposts on this journey. To read Dr. Diana Hill's blog on Healthy Striving that I shared in this episode, check out: https://drdianahill.com/signs-of-unhealthy-striving-and-how-to-strive-better/
This week on the Life Out Loud Podcast, we are getting real about how we feel. This week is Mental Health Week in Canada, and the Canadian Mental Health Association has challenged us to focus on naming, expressing and dealing with our emotions, as a way of celebrating, protecting, promoting mental health. For more information, visit https://mentalhealthweek.ca/
This week on the show, teacher, facilitator and trauma specialist Lynn Fraser joins us for a conversation around the current landscape of the pandemic, the ways trauma manifests within our lives and how we have the power and control in healing trauma. Lynn provides us with lots of wisdom from her personal experiences and her work around healing trauma. If you're looking for more information on healing trauma, check out Lynn's website, https://lynnfraserstillpoint.com/, to find free resources and ways to receive additional trauma support.

Did you know that April 15th is declared as World Art Day? And I am so honoured to have a special guest on the show with me to celebrate World Art Day. Mireka Starr is an artist, a mental health advocate, and a beautiful, bright spirit! Mireka joins me in the studio to talk with me about her journey through her abstract expressionism and portrait art.
I'm turning 36 years young on April 4th — and I've been thinking a lot about this particular birthday. This week's episode is a reflection — a life lesson on some of the experiences I've had over the past 36 years. Even though I'm not celebrating a "milestone" birthday, I am celebrating a significant part of my life's journey — another trip around the sun! Every birthday is special — an opportunity to celebrate another year of life.
