Life Reframed episodes

  • Conversations and Conspiracies with Greg Pinkner

In this episode, Rick and Lauren invite special guest Greg Pinkner to discuss how conspiracy theories are viewed through the lens of the Bible. Together, we explore common conspiracy theories and reframe them in the context of Biblical principles. Listeners are invited to consider the role of faith and skepticism in understanding conspiracy theories, and to gain a new perspective on the world around them.

Greg Pinkner is the Teaching Pastor at Fellowship Church in Knoxville, TN. He co-hosts our podcast, Off Stage, which is bringing a biblical perspective on current issues and topics. Greg previously joined us for a Life Reframed story discussing living with a chronic disease.

If you haven’t listened to our previous episode on polarizing and persuasion, we highly recommend listening in compliment to this episode.

Greg references The Coddling of the American Mind by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt as well as The Death of Expertise by Thomas M. Nichols.

Rick and Lauren reference two episodes of the Podcast Cautionary Tales:

    The Scientist and the Swindler

The Conspiracy Theorist Who Changed His Mind

  • Doubt with Katy Oliver

We don't like to talk about doubt; it's isolating, it's scary and it can leave us feeling deeply unsettled. But what if that's not the whole story on doubt? Our guest today, Katy Oliver, talks about her journey with doubt and how even doubtfully going to the Lord is itself an act of faith.

  • The War for Hope

Hope is easy when it's in ourselves but we know or we find out that hope in us isn't really hope at all: it's pressure. Real hope is found in turning to the Lord, turning to a God who seeks his people and longs to fill them with real hope. But it's not easy -- every day is a battle and today we're talking about how over our lifetimes, it's a war.
