LIFEGATE DENVER SERMONS

Thanks for joining us for our Holy Week Prayer Week! We hope you are encouraged and moved into a posture of prayer through this digital liturgy.

Apostle's Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen.

Lord's Prayer:

Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever, amen.

The Good News | Message 3

On Palm Sunday the people gathered and expressed their worship to King Jesus. This was a significant event because it captures our motivation for evangelism. While people being lost and far from good should break our hearts, our real motivation is that God deserves the worship of all people. Every nation, and all people must worship Him for He is worthy, and “the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in Spirit and the truth.”

Stories are the most powerful way to change a culture. In fact, whoever tells a better story shapes the culture. As followers of Jesus, we are invited to share not only the story of the resurrection but the story of God in our own lives. In order for this to happen we must see that we are Deployed with a Mission, Direction with an Invitation, and Dependent on God’s power. We must see that God doesn’t choose us because He is limited in His options but He is gracious in His invitation.

The Good News | Message 1

As we head into Easter we as a church want to posture ourselves to walk in obedience. Evangelism, or sharing the good news of Christ is not a call reserved for a few gifted and talented people. For everyone who finds their identity in Christ, this is a crucial call and one which we must all take seriously.

In the Scriptures we see that God has designed and defined what marriage is. It is a holy institution where two people are united with Christ and one another. While this sounds romantic it is in fact a collision of two opposing forces now joined together to form one new partnership. Marriage by God’s design is the grace of living in the truest intimacy with another person that requires the deepest level of sacrificial love and faithfulness first to Christ and then to one another.

Sacred Marriage | Message 1

Marriage is not a human institution. It is a gift given to humanity from God. As such God has designed marriage to reflect His covenant love. In the way that Christ gave up His life for His bride and His bride lives in the purity of that holiness, so marriage is a reflection of the Gospel. In marriage we witness the sacred and powerful union of the resurrection life.

Community of the King | Message 2

As a church, we want to anchor ourselves in God’s revelation of Himself to us and the way His master plan moves through the church. The book of Ephesians tells us that the “manifold wisdom of God” is made through the church. Meaning, God created the church as a means for humanity to encounter Him and for the revelation of His plan to be made know throughout the world.
