Light on the Hill on Oneplace.com

Today on Light on the Hill we turn your attention to the end of Mark chapter twelve. Jesus watched as people put in their offerings into the Temple Treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts, but what really caught His eye was a poor widow who put in two very small copper coins, worth very little. He would take this opportunity to teach His disciples and us a very valuable lesson about obedience and sacrifice.

Just as there are good and godly teachers in the world today, there are also many false teachers. They seek to manipulate, deceive, and even destroy the minds of those who genuinely seek God. As discouraging as that may sound, the Bible has not left us without warning. Scripture clearly reveals who these false teachers are, what drives them, and how we can discern the truth from deception.

God did not design us to perish. From the very beginning He created us to walk in immortality, but sin ruined everything and brought death into the world, even corrupting our ability to think in terms of eternity. Today on Light on the Hill we’re going to take a very close look at what Jesus Himself teaches about life after death, and our prayer is that your perspective will be lifted as we consider the amazing future that waits for those who put their trust in Jesus.

What happens after we die? I think it’s safe to say, many of us have given that some thought or even stayed up late at night pondering over it. And I’m glad to say the Bible doesn’t leave us without answers. Today on Light on the Hill we’ll take you to Mark chapter twelve where the Sadducees approach Jesus with a question about the resurrection. Pastor James Kaddis will encourage us to focus on what we have in the Lord, rather than on what we don’t have.

There’s no shortage of people talking about how Christians should deal with the government, but many of them don’t really understand what the Bible actually says. Today on Light on the Hill we’re going to talk about what happens when the government tells you to dishonor God, or go against His Word. Do you simply submit, or do you take a different stand? We’re going to get into all of that in this study.

We enter into a discussion today on Light on the Hill about the government. And the question we’re confronted with is, “Who’s in charge?” And along the way we’ll see why we must stay focused on the main thing in life, the work of the Kingdom.
