  • Calm emotional overwhelm with imaginative play (HSP/INFP)

Dear soul, when emotional overwhelm floods us, it can be unreliable to depend on tangible comforts such as loved ones, favourite places and familiar things. So how can we find a portable peace that is always available?

In this journal entry, I share a practice of imaginative play that will help INFPs and/or highly sensitive persons (HSP) build intangible comforts that truly soothe our nervous systems and minds.

I talk about two different imagination practices to help us find calm:

    - Building a Portable Inner Sanctuary: Use our imaginations to construct a detailed, sensory-rich inner place (like my Secret Garden) where we can instantly retreat and find grounding.

    - Create Invisible Armor: Practice visualization to build a protective bubble of light around us that calms our inner child. This serves as an effective mental barrier against outside chaos.

✨ What comforting imaginative place are you going to create inside your mind? Share your ideas in the comments below!

  • Journal to recover from emotional overwhelm (HSP/INFP)

Dear soul, if a wave of emotional overwhelm hits you like it did for me yesterday, this 3-step journaling process can help you recover your peace and get back on your feet.

As a highly sensitive person (HSP) and/or INFP, being caught in a swirl of anxieties, fears, and negative thoughts can feel like drowning in mental chaos. In this journal entry, I walk you through the simple journaling method I used to move through panic and find calm.

This process will help you recover by focusing on these practical steps:

    - Step 1: The Admission. Write a "stream of consciousness" to release all your fears, worries and negative thoughts.

    - Step 2: The Reorientation. Find equilibrium by asking yourself what positives exist and what past challenges you've overcome.

    - Step 3: The Action Plan. Convert clarity into momentum by setting one small, easy action to take immediately.

✨ I believe in you! What is one small, easy thing you can do today to shift or change your situation? Share it in the comments below so I can cheer you on!

  • Emotionally overwhelmed? Here's how to recover. (INFP/HSP)

Dear soul, if we're caught in a swirl of emotional chaos and the smallest tasks feel like mountains, how can we recover and find our way back to calmness?

For highly sensitive people (HSP) and INFPs, emotional overwhelm can lead to physical tension, harsh self-criticism and feelings of frustration at being "too sensitive."

In this journal entry I share a process that will calm the internal chaos and help us recover from emotional overwhelm. This process focuses on practical steps:

    - First, calm the nervous system through breathing, humming, listening to nature sounds, and using our imagination.
    - Next, learn to stop self-criticism and practice deep self-compassion by accepting and loving our sensitivity.
    - Finally, use journaling to identify what triggered the overwhelm, establish better personal boundaries, and structure the day to prevent future episodes.

Remember to give yourself a break; tomorrow is a new day.

  • Trusting your Soul Compass in a chaotic world

Dear soul, are you struggling with decision making in a world full of fear and chaos? This journal entry is about finding our own internal soul compass so we can make clear-minded choices that are grounded in our deepest sense of self.

The problem isn't the decision itself; it's the lack of time we take for deep self-reliance and reflection. You deserve to decide for yourself what you truly think. We talk about the importance of research (looking at all sides of an issue, even those that don't feel right) to clarify what we do believe.

We talk about how to tune out the external pressure from social media feeds. The best practices are quiet ones: go for a walk, sit in nature, and do things that make your soul happy! This helps us to reconnect with the playful, true self inside, away from everyone else's expectations.

When choosing between paths, don’t focus on status, money, or fitting in. Instead, let’s use your imagination to ask: Who will you be if you make that decision? Does that future self align with who you envision yourself to be when you’re 80 years old? This philosophical lens helps ground your choices in your deepest personal values and leads to powerful personal growth.

✨ What is one thing you love to do guilt-free that makes your soul happy? Share it below!

  • Stop ignoring your intuition (INFP/INFJ)

Dear intuitives and highly sensitive souls, our intuitive sense is a powerful gift that we must learn to take seriously.

In today's journal entry, we're talking about how to trust our intuition and stop pushing those little inklings and hunches aside. As intuitives (especially INFPs and INFJs), we can sense things others can't. However, society often dismisses this sixth sense as not “normal”. Because of that we can often ignore our gut feelings.

Especially with the world being so chaotic, it’s time to stop minimizing our intuition. I share a recent experience where my INFJ husband and I had our spidey senses go off. It highlighted the importance of validating our intuitive hits. And I encourage us to write down our intuitions to see if we were right.

  • Why kindness is my religion

In this new journal entry, we explore the power of kindness. I think it could be one answer to our deepest existential questions, and serve as a balm for our sensitive souls.

Hello dear sensitive soul! Do you ever find yourself asking: Why are we here? What is the point of life? Let’s talk about how every small act of kindness you give or receive is a mini miracle. A little light that pushes back the darkness.

For introverts, especially, this kindness can be a much needed source of connection and peace. I also believe that when we are kind to another, we momentarily lighten the load of our own burdens.

This journal entry is a reminder that kindness is not trivial. It is the essence of what makes us human.

Hello dear soul, if you've been labeled "too sensitive," felt overwhelmed by the world, or have a very mean inner critic, consider this your gentle invitation to explore if you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

  • What bad people reveal to us

Hello dear soul and welcome to the Lightbearer's Library ✨.

In this journal entry, I dive into the difficult question of why we come into contact with people who create conflict, drama, or pain in our lives? The people we think of as "bad" often show up as difficult landlords, challenging partners, or complicated family members, leaving us with painful lessons.

This episode explores how these experiences can actually be a catalyst for profound personal growth.

    We discuss:

    - The skill of learning to trust our intuition—recognizing physical signs like a clenched stomach or muscle tension as a warning.
    - Why making decisions out of desperation or fear often leads to worse outcomes, and how to protect our energy and well-being in a bad situation.
    - Re-framing our focus from, "Why is this happening to me?" to "What is the lesson here?" so we can turn pain into wisdom, strength, and a clearer sense of self.

Ultimately, "What bad people reveal to us" is an opportunity to set stronger boundaries, trust ourselves more, and make better decisions for our unique, wonderful souls moving forward.

✨ I'd love to know if you have ever ignored your intuition about a person or situation and regretted it? Please share your story or your biggest lesson with me in the comments.

    🌿 About Kate Harmony 🌿

My main channel (Hack Music Theory) has over 250K subscribers and 10 million views. I've been a full-time YouTuber since 2017 and launched this personal channel (Lightbearer's Library) in 2025, where I'm making video versions of my journal entries.

Some of my favourite topics to talk about are practical philosophy, positive psychology, and personality type (I'm an INFP). But honestly, my journals contain counter-cultural thoughts about everything, so expect the unexpected! I also share practical ways I'm improving my mental health, with the hope that you might find them useful too.

I deleted all my social media accounts over 10 years ago, so I offer a loving perspective that's free from the divisive language commonly found in feeds nowadays.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, then I warmly welcome you into the Lightbearer's Library. Stay for a while, and please remember to subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV2wps4NID9rrO08OuwZ5Lg?sub_confirmation=1
