January 06, 2026Self- Control and Self-AwarenessContinuing on with our self-reflection "module". What is self-control? Self-control is the ability to manage your thoughts, emotions, and actions. It helps you choose what is right or helpful instead of what feels good in the moment. It means pausing before reacting. You think things through rather than acting on impulse. Self-control allows you to stay calm under pressure. It helps you handle frustration, anger, or excitement in healthy ways. It also involves discipline and responsibility. You follow through on commitments even when it is difficult. In leadership and personal growth, self-control builds trust and character. It shows maturity, strength, and respect for yourself and others. Self-awareness is the ability to understand yourself. It means recognizing your thoughts, emotions, strengths, and weaknesses. It involves noticing how you feel and why you feel that way. Instead of ignoring emotions, you name them and learn from them. Self-awareness helps you understand how your actions affect others. You see how your words, tone, and behavior make an impact. It also means knowing your values and motivations. You understand what matters to you and what guides your decisions. In leadership and personal growth, self-awareness builds confidence and empathy. When you know yourself, you can grow, lead, and connect with others more effectively. Tip of the day: ties together with protecting your personal information, protect yourself against scams....more19minPlay
December 23, 2025Self-DisciplineWhat is self-discipline: it refers to a person’s ability to control and regulate their own behavior, decisions, thoughts, emotions, and impulses — even when distraction (do what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it.), temptation or discomfort arise — to stay aligned with their long-term goals or values. Questions for thought: What does self-discipline look like in your life right now? Who do you know that shows good self-discipline? What do they do? When do you find it hardest to stay focused or make good choices? What emotions make it hardest for you to stay disciplined? How can you calm yourself before reacting when you’re upset or frustrated? What happens when you let your emotions make the choice instead of your goals? What distracts you the most at home or school? How could you remove or reduce that distraction this week? What small habit could you add to your routine to help you stay on track? What’s one goal you want to achieve in the next two weeks? What will you do when you don’t feel like working toward that goal? How will you know you are improving your self-discipline? How does your self-discipline affect the people around you? What does a disciplined leader look like? What would someone learn about you by watching your habits? When you miss a goal, how can you take responsibility and get back on track? What can you learn from the last time you gave up too early? What’s something you’re proud of where you showed self-discipline?
