  • Season 2 Finale

Welcome back to LMLD! We are so sad to be recording the final episode of season two before our summer hiatus, but happy about everything the podcast has given us over the last two years. We begin by sharing our "lights" of the week, including a very special weekend spent in Columbia, Missouri celebrating Max's graduation. We are so proud and excited for what's to come! The bulk of the episode was spent talking about what this year of podcasting has meant to us, how it feels different than last year, and some of our favorite moments. We also discuss some of the goals and ideas we have for the future and wrap up with what we're into for the week. Overall, this  year has been a ton of fun and we really have enjoyed sharing our lives, thoughts, and memories with all of you. We look forward to seeing what's in store for LMLD in the future! We'll see you in September (or possibly earlier for a fun bonus episode).

  • This Or That: Mother's Day Edition

Welcome back to LMLD! We begin our episode by sharing our "lights" of the week, including the fun Mother's Day weekend we shared together. Our topic this week is short and sweet and centered around one of those fun quizzes, where Lauryn's knowledge on Jamee is put to this test. Jamee asks her a variety of "this or that" questions about a variety of her preferences, such as beach or pool and tea or coffee. No surprises that Lauryn aced this quiz! We wrapped up the episode by sharing what we're into for the week.

    • Asking Each Other the Necessary Questions

Welcome back to LMLD! We begin of course by sharing our "lights" of the week. For our topic this week, we decided to pull up a list of thoughtful, deep questions that we found from the internet and ask each other the ones that spoke to us. From things we wish we could tell our younger selves to where we would live if there were no strings attached, we truly covered it all and enjoyed hearing each other's answers. Finally, we finished with what we're into for the week which included one TV show and three book recommendations! See you next week and let us know if you want us to do a part two of these question installments!

Welcome back to LMLD! We started off by sharing our "lights" of the week, including our amazing trip to the spa that sparked inspiration for this week's episode. From the moment you lay down in bed after a long day to taking that first sip of Diet Coke to lots of laughs spent with friends, there are so many simple moments that bring us joy. Let us know what those moments are for you! Finally, we discuss what we're into for the week which has everything to do with the man, the myth, the legend, Harry Freaking Styles.

      • Evelyn Hugo, Thomas Jefferson & Other People In Our Nightmare and Dream Blunt Rotations

Welcome back to LMLD! We are so excited to share our "lights" of the week, filled with many highs and not so many lows. Then, we dive into our topic of the week which is inspired by a thread Lauryn's saw on Facebook. We each take turns sharing the people who would be on our nightmare as well as dream blunt rotation/campfire gathering/party list. We discuss both fictional characters and celebrities that we would or wouldn't want to see there. Of course, Lauryn and Jamee had so many in common that they ultimately combined their lists together into one super party! This was such a funny episode and we had so much fun sharing our lists. Then, we shared into what we're into for the week.

      • The Story of Our Lives Told Through JBJ and Music

Welcome back to LMLD! We began our episode by sharing our lights of the week. Then, we went into our topic which is inspired all by the Bon Jovi concert we will have attended by the time that this episode releases. We talk about how Jamee first got into the band and how that love was eventually passed down to Lauryn and Max when they were little, and is essentially the root of their music appreciation. We share our favorite lyrics and memories associated with JBJ, in addition to generally what music has meant to us. And no need for a "what we're into" this week because Bon Jovi has certainly taken that spot! We're so excited to discuss all about the concert next week.

      • Vacations Memories That Make Us Smile

Welcome back to LMLD! We begin the episode by sharing our "lights" of the week, which has included some stress and burnout on our end. In order to combat that and in honor of spring break, we opted in for escapism and shared some of our favorite vacations from our past. First, Jamee shares her favorite childhood and teen vacations as a Weniger. Then, Jamee and Lauryn jointly discussed some of their favorite family vacations and the memories that still linger. Lauryn also mentioned a few trips she was fortunate enough to go on with other family members and friends. We also talked about future trips that we would love to take down the line. Overall, it was so much fun to go down memory lane and think about all of our family memories in some of the most magical and beautiful places. Finally, we finished the episode by sharing what we're into for the week.

        • What Happens When A College Grad Goes Back to College For the First Time

Welcome back to LMLD! We are so excited to be back after a week hiatus. We began by sharing our "lights" of the week, which was a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Then, we jumped into this week's topic inspired by Lauryn's highlight of going to visit her brother Max at college this past weekend. We discussed how she felt returning back to college for the first time, comparisons she noticed to her own experiences, and what unresolved feelings that brought out for her. We discussed what social norms are present during this time that aren't in other periods of life, and what is different about college now than it was for Jamee. All in all, though it was this weekend was emotional at times, Lauryn is actually in a really good place and this conversation only made us realize that. Finally, we discussed what we were into for the week and signed off.

We discussed the generational differences in our experiences with feminism and how it shaped our views around we should be in the world. Though we have come a long way since Jamee was young, we certainly have a lot more to go with how society views women and gender. Then, we shared our definition of strong women and the people in our lives and those that we look up to that we feel embody those qualities.
