Rabeinu teaches us the greatness behind bringing people back to G-d and how one who is engaged in this work must protect himself from the evil within those he is trying to bring back. One protects himself from these evil forces by judging himself over all his actions, creating a fire which burns these klipot.

Rabeinu then goes on to connect these ideas to wealth and anger, enhancing G-d’s glory, making sure not bring CERTAIN people close, Shabbat, and other concepts.

This Torah begins with a very deep Zohar in Parashat Bereshit which states: “3 emerge from 1. 1 is maintained by 3. 1 ascends between 2. 2 provide for 1. 1 provides for a number of directions.”

Rabeinu explains this Zohar in connection with the 3 gifts that Am Yisrael received in the dessert: the cloud, the well, and the manna.

Rabeinu goes into many different subjects and ties them all together into the subject of the lesson. These ideas include: Moshe Rabeinu/the tzadik, the covenant, war, the forefathers, Da’at, novel Torah ideas, healing, upright people of the generation, Shabbat, speech, grandeur, the Divine Presence, etc…

Rabeinu explains that when one blemishes in the faith of the sages, he weakens the strength of medicines to heal, and this person doesn’t have any healings for his sicknesses. The way to restore healing is to restore faith in the sages… how? Fulfilling a vow/neder immediately. When he fulfills a vow immediately and restores his faith in the sages, he allows the light of the forefathers to shine into him, and and this light of the forefathers raises this person to the “delight of Shabbat.”

Rabeinu also delves into the subjects of : charity, simple faith in the words of the sages, chametz and matza, subduing our enemies, and restoring our G-dly image…
