耳朵學英文, 大腦篇#1, 大腦分左右半球四區域, 葉(lobe)

大腦被分成成左、右兩個半球，這兩個半球在構造上相似，劃分為四個區域，稱為葉(lobe)。位於頭部前方額頭附近的是額葉，主要負責認知思考與決策。位於頭頂的是頂葉，負責運動感覺的體覺功能。在後腦勺的是枕葉，負責視覺功能。頭部兩側靠近耳朵的是顳葉，主要是聽覺功能。

1、額葉：位於中央溝（central sulcus）的前方

與推理，計畫，某些語言與運動（運動皮質）與書寫，情緒，以及問題解決有關

掌管說話能力的布洛卡區(語言運動區)眼球隨意運動區都分布在額葉

2、頂葉：位於中央溝（central sulcus）的後面

與身體的感覺相關，觸覺，壓力，溫度以及疼痛有關。

　

3、顳葉：位於大腦外側裂（lateral fissure）

與嗅覺、聽覺刺激辨識、以及記憶(hippocampus)有關。理解話語等感覺型語言區域

　

4、枕葉

主要掌管視覺

視覺區先接收視覺訊息加以辨識後再傳至視覺聯合區，在此區域判斷視覺訊息並加以記憶

Each side of your brain contains four lobes.

The frontal lobe is important for cognitive functions and control of voluntary movement or activity.

The parietal lobe processes information about temperature, taste, touch and movement, while the occipital lobe is primarily responsible for vision.

The temporal lobe processes memories, integrating them with sensations of taste, sound, sight and touch.

繁文縟節；官僚作風；拖拉費時的繁瑣手續

We must cut through the red tape. 我們必須要克服官僚文牘主義。

Because of all red tape at immigration I missed my connecting flight.

由於所有繁瑣的手續，我錯過了轉機航班。

Red tape 最早起源於英國，原來英國官方文件是用紅色布帶系成一紮一紮的。所以這個「紅色帶子」 後來就延伸為官僚作風。

在現代商務環境中，如果一個機構行動緩慢，效率低下，存在 "形式主義"和"繁文縟節"，就可以這麼說是 red tape 作風。比如：

The little money that was available was tied up in bureaucratic red tape.

可支配的那點點錢都花在官僚主義的繁文縟節上了。

The colorful term used to refer to the seemingly endless parade of paperwork that accompanies many official matters got its start back in old England. A Nonviolent Protest Against Segregation.

On the afternoon of February 1, 1960, four African American university students—Ezell Blair, Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond—purchased some items from Woolworth’s general store in Greensboro, North Carolina, and sat at the “whites only” lunch counter in the store’s dining area. The Greensboro Four, as the men came to be called, remained seated while their orders were refused by the waitstaff. They returned the next day, accompanied by some 20 other Black university students, beginning a widespread sit-in movement.

On January 29, 1919, the Eighteenth Amendment was ratified, and it went into effect the following year. Although intended to eliminate alcohol from American life, it largely failed. Prohibition created a black market and contributed to the rise of organized crime, with such gangsters as Al Capone becoming world famous. a situation in which an internet user encounters only information and opinions that conform to and reinforce their own beliefs, caused by algorithms that personalize an individual’s online experience.

所以Filter Bubble中的Bubble是沒特別含意的，所以Filter Bubble可以翻譯成「個人化資料過濾」，當網路上的資料經過這個Filter Bubble之後，就看到每個人應該看到的東西，當然這個所謂「應該看到的東西」，是Google、Facebook、Yahoo、New York Times這些網站認定的。

同溫層效應

2010 年，「Filter Bubble（過濾泡泡）」一詞被網路活動者 Eli Pariser 提出，這是一種網站針對個人化搜尋而提供篩選後內容的結果。當社群網站透過數據演算讓使用者越來越看不到自己不喜歡或不同意的觀點資訊時，我們每一天都被侷限於某種意識形態氣泡中，意指「同溫層」效應。
