  • If crystals have magic, then we ARE magic

While on retreat in Costa Rica, I met and immediately admired her vibrant soul. In this episode, I host Becca Kannapell, co-founder of POUND for an eye opening talk about magic, crystals, the universe, and the Divine - and how all of those offer beautiful metaphors and maps for being human. We discuss relationships, connecting to what we believe, and unearthing a voice that feels “more like me.”

Our guest: BECCA KANNAPELL is the co-creator of a female-family-run jewelry business called POUND Jewelry. POUND intuitively sources and designs handmade adornment pieces that are composed of healing crystals, stones, and rocks emitted from the Earth to be loved and used as tools for our transformational journeys in this life. Every single piece of wearable art that POUND puts into the world is created from our deep love of nature and the magic that lives inside the mineral multi-verse.

  • How a volatile past can lead to a successful future

We often think we are successfully separating that which is personal (and in the past) - from that which is professional (and current). In this conversation, I talk with Deborah Brown-Volkman about her volatile upbringing and how

falling down and getting back up led to a journey of healing and growth - changing the trajectory of her career from problematic to exceptional. She took survival skills formed in childhood and made them assets in the workplace - there is power in the ability to read a room, being a deep listener, and seeing things that others don’t.

We also discuss the WomanSpeak™ program and the power of our voice in business and life. It isn’t enough to “get a seat at the table” - women and marginalized individuals need to use our truest voice and deliver the wisdom that lives inside us at that table! Too often, we wait to be chosen or called upon to speak. It is game-changing to trust our own voice and be set free from imposter syndrome.

Our guest: DEBORAH BROWN-VOLKMAN is a Career Optician who helps clients see new possibility in their career. Deborah believes that when you see your career differently, you are able to do things differently. As an author of several best-selling books, she taps into 20+ years of solid career coaching experience empowering 1,000’s of clients to find new jobs, new careers, and new ways of dealing with workplace challenges. Deborah has worked with clients in companies, including: Facebook, Google, Citibank, Bank of Singapore, Nautica, Verizon, and many others. She is a mix of data and intuition; both spiritual and practical. She dishes out tough love, while also creating a safe space for clients to talk, be understood, and be themselves.

  • Burlesque as a form of therapy - not sexually charged entertainment.

What if removing your clothing became an embodied means of shedding negative baggage and revealing more of your soul and essence? A burlesque solo is not merely a seductive dance performed for the gratification of the male gaze. Guest Kellita Maloof says, “In conscious burlesque an artist leaves the stage with her radiant essence more visible to herself and those lucky enough to witness her…” Jen and Kellita talk about consent, healing, trauma, and the artistry around all of it.

Our guest: KELLITA MALOOF is a Performing and Teaching Artist and Soulful Conscious Burlesque Mentor.  She works at the intersection where burlesque dance meets depth psychology meets attachment theory meets individuation meets autoimmune recovery meets spirituality.  For over 20 years, Kellita’s been helping kind, soulful, highly sensitive helpers who’ve been over-editing, over-managing and over-giving – and are attracted to dance theater and expressive arts performance – to trust and express themselves with confidence, presence and radiance. She integrates into her work Systemic Constellations, EFT, Transformational NLP and Interpersonal Neurobiology. Kellita’s mission is to support folks in dusting off the fountain of Self-Love that was hiding right in the center of their very own shimmy.

Our guest: JESS MICHAELS is an accomplished dancer with 30 years of experience as a dance industry professional, educator, and entrepreneur. She is also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and a 1991 rape by Jeffrey Epstein. Her healing journey began unexpectedly, over twenty years later, after her hometown of Newtown, CT was devastated by the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. In 2015, Jess joined Dylan’s Wings of Change, a foundation dedicated to Dylan Hockley, one of the first-grade victims in the shooting. It was there, in her hometown, teaching dance classes and working alongside the brave parents who had lost their children, that Jess began to connect the value of shame-free, community-based, early trauma intervention to the needs of sexual assault survivors. Her message normalizes a proactive, empowered emergency response to SA equipping us to effectively prepare for—rather than react to—one of society's most common, catastrophic crimes while advancing healing, justice and prevention.
