Publisher's Summary:
For Jack, it was just another quiet winter morning. The dark stillness wasn't what it appeared to be and neither was the success that Jack enjoyed. What appeared to be normal wasn't real. But the sudden impact of reality was very real. Jack would never have read this book. Why would he, when a tragedy could just as easily open his eyes? Maybe you and Jack have something in common. But then again, maybe you don't. You can always hit the snooze, close your eyes and just wait and see.
On the surface, Silent Alarm looks like a self-help book. But don't be deceived. While a meaningful read for anyone in most any walk of life, the real purpose of Silent Alarm is to bring hope to busy professionals who have the courage to change the face of business in our challenging and uncertain world. It could be the most important book you have read in a long time... and the most important gift you could give to those who mean the most to you in your life.

great book
Enjoyed the book. Thanks for the positive message. It would be great if people would learn these lessons without having to go through tragedies.
A quick read but lasting lessons
From the first chapter, this book grabbed me. The lessons of this "parable" are both timeless and exactly what we need for today. The examples used make you feel like it was written by your next door neighbor who has lived through many of the same events that you have. The story may end but I am sure you will not forget the lessons learned from this little book.
Not for the non-religious
Unless you are slightly religious, or that way inclined, you will get nothing from this book. This book drags on and goes absolutely nowhere for the first half, then the "message" comes in the form of sound bites and one line rules of thumb that don't really inspire any feelings or inspiration. It seems as though it is written by an amateur writer who writes in a way that in no way represents how people, families, and friends actually interact or talk to each other. I was very disappointed with this read as the content was complete fiction, and the way it was written made it impossible to relate to real life. You would be better off buying a good biography than looking for inspiration in this fairy tale.
A touching story
This is a touching story. It reminds us not to just walk through life aimlessly but to live life with a purpose. This book will help bring focus and set what is important to you into a much clearer view.
Life journey
This book is a quick read with very simple message. While we are all busy working hard at our jobs, or trying to find one -- often we forget to reflect on our lives and people around us. In our search of money, comfort and race for a success, we forget about our families, genuine friends and life issues that are truly important. The book will be a gentle reminder to all readers to stop, reflect and re-assess life priorities. We will be reminded that we all have to realize that life is about serving others around us, just stopping for a minute and enjoying the simple moments in life, dedicating our energy to people and causes that make our life more rich and fulfilling. In another word, money and success is not everything.
