    Title: The Haunted Camera
    Author: Drac Von Stoller
    Narrator: Ted Brooks
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 14 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-12-12
    Publisher: Drac Von Stoller
    Genres: Fiction, Horror
    Publisher's Summary:
Delbert Gray was an amateur photographer with a hunger for fame. The camera Delbert used was a cheap Kodak Instamatic. You can see why Delbert dreamed of owning a Nikon like his rich friend Michael. Michael would let his friend Delbert develop his pictures in his darkroom while he was developing his own. Delbert really envied Michael's photographs and would often close his eyes and day dream about being a famous photographer some day. Delbert was only 15 years old. He wasn't old enough to get a job like his friend Michael and bring in a big paycheck.
As Michael was puffing on his cigarette in the dark room developing his film beside Delbert, Michael would often make remarks about Delbert's photographs and tell him if he wants to take pictures like him he needs to throw that cheap camera in the trash and buy one like his. Delbert replied with a lump in his throat "You know I don't have a job and my parents wouldn't even consider buying me a camera such as yours."
Michael replied back saying, "You know something Delbert, either you get a good quality camera or I'm going to ask you to stop developing your photographs in my dark room. Your photographs are pathetic."
Delbert answered back in a sad tone of voice, "That wasn't a very nice thing to say to your friend."
"I know, but it's the truth and sometimes the truth hurts," exclaimed Michael.
"Well let me tell you something Michael, I'm going to own a camera like yours someday and when I do you'll be jealous of me," said Delbert in a stern voice.
Morning came and Delbert wiped the remaining tears from his cheeks. Delbert took a deep breath and said a prayer. Delbert decided instead of lying in bed all day sulking about why his friend Michael would be saying I told you so. Delbert got dressed and grabbed an apple from the kitchen and a soda headed down the road on foot in search of that special camera. As Delbert was walking around the town square he came across an Antique shop that had an old bellows camera in the display window. Delbert said to himself, "If I could just have that camera I bet it would take better pictures than Michael's." Delbert slumped over with tears again flowing down his cheeks knowing in reality there was no way he could afford such a beautiful camera. Just as Delbert was walking past the Antique shop, an old man opened the door and came up to Delbert and said, "I noticed you were looking at that old camera in the window as if it belonged to you."
Delbert answered, "Yes, Sir, I was only wishing. I knew in my heart I could not afford such a beautiful camera. Besides, I don't even have a job or any money to give you and my father told me the only way I could buy a new camera was to get a job next year. By that time your camera would be gone and I would be heartbroken once more. Well I better be on my way, because if I don't get home soon my dad is going to whoop me."
"Not so fast!" the old man said in a tender voice. "I've never had anyone come by my shop and want any of my antiques like you have. I tell you what if you really want the camera it's yours to keep. Don't worry about the money your money is no good to me. There's only one condition. Bring me a copy of the photos you take. I have a scrap book that I would like to place them in. That's all I ask of you.

    Length: 14 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-11-12
    Publisher: Drac Von Stoller
    Genres: Fiction, Horror
    Publisher's Summary:
During the 1800's the "Planchette" was a popular game in the parlor which consisted of a board of wood with a pencil attached and two wheels. Then the curious players would place the tips of their fingers on the board of wood and if they were lucky the spirits would guide the movement of hands creating words on the paper directly underneath the board. Karen Viselli and John Deadman were curious about the Legend of the Talbot family's misfortune surrounding the game Planchette that became a family tradition on stormy nights. But their family tradition was about to take a tragic turn for the worse that would cause each family member to have to pay with their own lives for conjuring up a demonic presence.
Karen and John were both determined to find the Planchette game that was used at the Talbot's Mansion but no one has ever been able to find where the game may have been hidden all of those years.
Legend has it that after the last Talbot family member died one of the servant's at the Talbot Castle either tried to destroy the game by tossing it into the fireplace or hid it somewhere in the mansion or in the family crypt. The most bizarre thing is that each family member's body was drained of blood and their eyes were missing.

    Publisher's Summary:
Drac Von Stoller's fascination for the horror genre began when he was a little boy watching his favorite actors - such as Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi - on his little black-and-white television alone in his dark room. He decided that one day that he would write a short story in the horror genre and let some of his friends read it and see what they thought. Sure enough, when people read "Death in the Wilderness" they loved it. This gave Drac the confidence he needed to keep on writing more and more short stories. The rest is history.

    Publisher's Summary:
It is said that if something is dead it might just be a good idea to leave it alone, especially if it is evil. We all know that there is always someone that can't leave well enough alone. Luther was one of those that wasn't scared of anything, especially if it was dead and buried. Luther felt superior to something buried six feet underground, because he knew he was safe, even if he danced on the grave or desecrated it.
Then one day some of his friends dared him to dance on and desecrate a grave located deep in the woods near a stream by an abandoned house. It was the grave of a man that, legend had it, was a real werewolf. The werewolf's wooden tombstone read: "Whosoever disturbs my sleep when the moon is full will surely die by the hands of the werewolf." This would be Luther's last dance on anyone's grave forever.

    Really?
I can only imagine this was written either for or by a kid under the age of 12. As a previous reviewer pointed out, severe editing is needed. It reads more like a campfire story told at boy or cub scouts.
    I wouldn't recommend, unless you're a 8 year old
    Editing needed.
To the author: I'm operating under the assumption that you are serious about self-publishing, and that this listing isn't an elaborate and time-consuming joke. You need an editor. This doesn't have to be the employee of a publishing house. It can be a friend, a teacher, even a parent. Anyone well-read will be a help to you.
To start, your title requires punctuation. "It's Dead, Leave It Alone!" At the minimum you need an apostrophe. What you want to say is "It is dead." "Its" indicates a possessive - "its house, its car, its corpse." "It's" is a contraction for "it is." This is the first word of your title - it matters. You also need a pause between "It's Dead" and "Leave It Alone!" I suggest a comma, but a period or an exclamation point would be fine. You don't need to put an exclamation point on the end of your title, but if you choose to put one there for style or emphasis, that's okay.
Your synopsis is also in desperate need of help. Let's take it line by line: "It is said that if something is dead it might just be a good idea to leave it alone especially if it is evil." You need a comma after "If something is dead." You need another one after "leave it alone," if you choose to keep the phrase "especially if it is evil." I wouldn't. I would also cut "it is said." It's superfluous and adds nothing to your sentence. To paraphrase E.B. White, the perfect sentence is one from which nothing can be added or removed. Extra phrases weaken your sentence. I would start your summary with, "If something is dead, it might be a good idea to leave it alone."
Line two: "We all know that there is always someone that can't leave well enough alone." You want to avoid the repetition of words in a single sentence or paragraph. "We ALL know that there is ALWAYS someone..." These aren't the same word, but they sound similar. The brain notices these patterns, and it catches our attention in a bad way. It can help to read what you've written aloud, and see if anything sounds funny or off.

Dr. Carvington worked countless hours down in his laboratory trying to perfect the greatest breakthrough in medical history. Most of his subjects were very unhealthy and barely made it through Dr. Carvington's experiments. Dr. Carvington wasn't about to give up his work on any poor useless specimen that meant absolutely nothing to him in a personal way. Dr. Carvington must have seen a half a dozen specimens before the right one came along.
There stood at the doorway a dashing young man with blonde hair and blue eyes. Dr.Carvington's daughter Priscilla answered the door and was blown away at how handsome the young man was.

Seems to Be a Bit of Rush Job to Get Published (Prematurely as the Title Suggests)
This is only a five minute long short story, it seems the author either wanted it to be that short or just came up with an idea, started to write it, planning to come back late and flesh it out, but instead just decided to self-publish it as a Kindle book the way it was on the first draft. He also didn't bother to edit it with the wrong tense and other grammar. Such as "At the stroke of midnight all of Dr. Carvington's patients that were buried just behind the laboratory at the cemetery wasn't quite dead". The story reads almost like it was written by a school kid for some sort of writing assignment and this is the copy before it was handed back with red lines and the correct word in written above in red ink.
My thoughts on this are reinforced by the fact that the Dr has a daughter at the start who opens the door after a knock on it, a guy (Pierre) is there for a job interview, while taking him to the lab she just asks him if he has a boyfriend, he says no. She then says I would very much like to be your girl friend (yes the author uses two separate words for girlfriend). Of course Pierre reply is I would like that very much. Not only is this totally unlikely in a job interview, it very much simplifies the whole dating someone scenario so much that you again wonder if this is a primary school kids fantasy of how you go about dating someone. Also the Dr starts telling his whole plan of experimenting on people in the interview, telling him what I'm about to tell you doesn't leave this room. Then none of this really matters anyway as we never encounter Pierre or his daughter again in the story.
    Twisted
Talk about twisted. This doctor should have chosen a different experiment/research project. Beyond disturbing and unrealistic. Disturbing and twisted. Payback is a pain.
    premature burial grounds
Sorry, this was prematurely submit for publication. The tale had a really cool premise and it was even edited fairly well. The issue was with the telling of the tale. This is clearly a novice attempt and while I applaud the author for trying - it really needs a lot of work related to plot devices and believable context.
It is not believable (at all) the love plot device attempted.
The story itself was overwritten with overuse of character names and tag lines that were purely redundant word count. The author told the whole tale (which I suppose 6 pages requires) without any showing and then relayed all the great devices he could have used IN the tale (if longer) AFTER everything was over. Dialogue was stiff and implausible (what there was). The actual resolution was novel - but even given genre was not believable.

Tom Barlow and Virginia Thompson had a forbidden love that would be the envy of any couple. Tom and Virginia would sneak out of their houses and meet at their favorite place to gaze at the stars and share an evening of passion. Their secret place to rendezvous was this old wooden bridge known as the Old Mill Bridge that was in the middle of nowhere. It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Any passionate noises that came from both of them would go unnoticed. Not many of the town's people would travel down to the Old Mill Bridge because the bridge was deemed unsafe and could collapse at any time. There was a sign next to the bridge that read "Beware Not Safe for Vehicle Crossing".

    The Old Bridge
Why on earth would any person of sound mind and body go someplace they are warned is extremely dangerous? Beats me. I guess it's just our human self being inquisitive and curious, but there are times one should not play around.
When I was in college and graduate school, there was this bridge referred to as, "The Iron Bridge," there was also a cemetery close by. Supposedly, people rarely traveled old bridge, taking other routes and new roads instead. I have been there myself, both the cemetery and The Iron Bridge when I was in graduate school. I never heard or saw a thing, however, other people share different experiences.

Business as usual down at Dracs funeral home - so they say. But there was one thing wrong with this picture: Dracs funeral home hasn't been in operation since old man Wethers' funeral home was shut down because a brand new funeral home was built across the street from Dracs. When old man Wethers was run down by a speeding hearse, 20 years later the ghost of old man Wethers would be back, seeking revenge after midnight if anyone dared to pass by Dracs funeral home. Old man Wethers was about to find out who the killer was that ran him down at his cemetery all those years ago. And revenge would be just what he had been wanting for all those years.

Bad Story Telling, Bad Editing, Just Bad Bad Bad
I love a good ghost story. A good revenge ghost story is even better. Except when it is written badly. Which this one was. The amount of times the phrase "Dracs Funeral Home and Cemetary" was written in this 3 page story I was wondering if the author thought we would forget who owned the Funeral Home. This was worse because he never mentions the name of the competing Funeral Home.
At times the author would contradict himself i.e.
" People would make fun of Dracs Funeral Home because it was small and musty inside and the cemetery wasn't well kept either....Dracs Funeral Home was the only one in town so there was no other funeral home to bury their loved ones."
    while earlier he had said
" old man Wethers Funeral Home and Cemetery was shut down because a brand new funeral home and cemetery was built across the street from Dracs Funeral Home and cemetery."
Did Wethers close the funeral home because people made fun of the old funeral home or did he close it because there was a new one? I would also like to point out that in the 2nd quote the author calls the funeral home by two names. I had to read the first paragraph several times to see if there were 2 funeral homes or 3.
Later on we get two paragraphs back to back describing what happens when a car passes Dracs Funeral Home at midnight. Two paragraphs basically saying the exact same thing.
There are also grammar and spelling mistakes, but then my review would be longer than the story.
I do NOT recommend this story. It's worse than an elementary school composition.
Von Stoller, Drac (2011-08-01). The Haunted Hearse (Kindle Location various). . Kindle Edition.
    Take an aspirin before reading!
Oh my, this book is, well, at the bottom of the barrel. The editing is almost non existent. The first paragraph is one very long sentence! In all honesty the book had a somewhat good storyline, however the execution was way off the mark. I felt like it was written by a ten year old who is an aspiring author. Maybe given time and some polishing there is hope for a good book in the future.
    I Didn't Care For It
I remember watching an old movie that starred a creepy hearse which always showed up as an omen of things to come. . . .I remember it scaring me to pieces! Maybe I just expected too much, but I found this book a little anticlimactic.
    just ok
the story was ok. I got lost really early in it though. imagination was pretty good here, but needs to be proofread by someone else. was confused by a word play that made no sense.
    Don't waste your time
This reads like a fifth grade English assignment. Horrible. I am glad it only took less than five minutes to read
