great book

I loved it all. I can't wait to see if Mandi will be the next to become a Damian. This story had me in tears but I knew it would be ok in the end.

Worse performance

This speaker talks like she has moth balls in her mouth. She enunciates way too much. I found I was listening to her speech instead of the story kind of like counting the umms when someone talks to you.

Finally, it's over!

If you like soap operas and can overlook the excessive use of the F-bomb, you might like this book. Have a pencil & paper handy to keep track of all the unfinished sub plots. I'm sure there was a story line somewhere in between the bedroom screens .

Serious Issues Mixed with a Romance

Bailey O'Neil runs an underground organization that attempts to help gang members walk away and start a new life away from the violence, drugs, and hostilities. I really enjoyed the story behind Someone to Believe In. There wasn't just a lot of flirty eyes and hot sex; there was a plot with importance. Gangs area a huge issue in the U.S. Kids join them rapidly and I found Bailey's dedication to finding them and helping them escape such a dangerous lifestyle honorable. She didn't just pick this life path; there is some history as to why she so fervently works to remove kids from bad situations and even goes into schools to talk about gangs to administrators.

Clay comes off a little strong sometimes. There really is no question that he's used to getting everything that he wants politically and career-wise. He's a bit controlling but his pairing with Bailey brings him down a notch or two.

I love these books!

This is the first in the series that I used audible. I was very expressed and just as enthralled in the story. The only negative is that this is such a great series but the books get more expensive and not as long. But I am hooked

Bad Narration

So Disappointed - I'm halfway through the book and shaking my head. I don't understand why publishers allow bad narrators. I love hockey and was so eager to try this new author and series. The narrator sounds like a much older person reading two characters lines a female and male and doesn't even attempt to change her voice. I never even know who's speaking the guy or girl. I've caught myself drifting off thinking about other things.

The story deserves to be told and I want to know what happens. Since I paid for it and don't want to buy the written version now. I sped up the narration to get through it faster.

I already bought the next two books in the series before listening to this one. I see they are narrated by someone else. I sure hope they chose better.

Bad narration

How could the performance have been better?

The narration could have been better if my dog had done it. I really wanted to listen to this story but stopped it after 30 minutes. The narration was monotone and the acting was terrible. Couldn't get passed it and wasted a credit.

Good book, bad narrator

The story was great. At times a little drawn out. The narrator was so boring and very bland. Too monotone and no feelings. Hope the rest of the series have a better narrator.

Such a sweet book

I loved this book, the connection between the two characters was so heart-wrenching. Their growth as a couple was captivating. I wish these characters were real people because I would love to meet them. The narrator does a wonderful job bringing this story to life! Well worth the credit!

5 Stars book with a 1 star narration

The book: wow it was amazing. A sweet love story of old friends trying to overcome trauma and finding happiness. It does talk about a gang rape and there is a little description. This may be a trigger for some people so be aware of that. The description is very mild though but obviously is something that is mentioned because it affected our heroine deeply. After 7 years she goes to her brother's best friend for help in intimacy because she is still suffering crippling panic attacks even after years of therapy. The love story is developed very slowly but wonderfully.

Excellent Followup To Forever and Always

This one picks up right after the Christmas Eve accident that leaves Caden severely injured and Ever in a persistent coma. Caden's recovery and his therapy a good portion of one chapter as it describes his slow but fairly steady progress. Following his injuries Caden is unable to drive so it's Eden that gets him both to his own doctor's appointments and visits to Ever becomes a dual proposition.

Okay for anyone who hasn't read the jacket on book three of the trilogy I'm about to hit you with a major SPOILER ALERT HERE.

What happened between Eden and Caden seemed inevitable to me from the time the words persistent vegetative coma were spoken. Ever was not only the connection between them, she was in some ways their only connection to the outside world for either of them. Add to that Eden is Ever's twin and the closest Caden can get to the woman he loves. In Eden's case she's always been envious of her sister and has always wanted what Ever had.

Some of the reviewers have seemed shocked by the outcome of their togetherness; however I could see no other way that it was gonna go. Two desperate, frantic people with only one friend and one real connection outside of their own worlds it had to happen the way it did. Even the event that pushes Eden to run away will dovetail with the realities of Ever's current condition.

I'm risking my man card by writing this, but it's a great followup and I've already purchased book three. I just hope I'm capable keeping my tears down to the level of two overly hormonal post adolescent girls on that one.

Very high... Not judging any one on this story...

I felt sorry for Caden, Eden and Ever. Caden for trying to hang on to be loyal. Eden for missing her twin sister. And Ever, so young to be in a comma.

The sex scene was so amazing. I can visualize everything in the sex the scene.

What other book might you compare After Forever to and why?

This story line reminded me of one of Marie Force books - Treading Water.

Beautiful story well told

I loved the first book, but this one is even better! Great story, beautifully written, and you feel so close to the characters. So glad this is a series. Its a real love affair, the kind you always hope to find. I was really happy with this book and the narrator, who always delivers.

Shold have follow my own advice to pass

The first book left us in a cliff hanger situation with Ella having amnesia and she not remembering anything that happened in the entire book -- the end. Okay, so I'll admit to being curious, and we know what killed the cat. This book is 10hrs, the central tension was resolved in the first 30 minutes, then 9 hours of rambling through God awful dialog. If I had 10 cents for every time the Ella and Porter declared their love to each other, I would fund my audible reading library for life. It is a pity, because I do see flashes of talent in Ms. Michaels. She has just go to work on dialog and develop depth in her characters.

As a second book, this was a big yawn. Put up a hand if you didn't think everything wasn't perfectly predictable. Anyone? Anyone? I thought not. I went through the middle nine hour desert hoping for something but only barely mediocre conflict poured into my ears. She relies on too cliched devices: letters (for example). Michaels has to amp up the tension, there is only so many times the two can fall into bed even for a romance novel.

If you read book one, then okay, do as I did. Flip a coin. But it would save you 10 hours if you just say, "self, how would I want this to turn out?" then smile and pick another novel.

A BEAUTIFUL, TOUCHING & ENTERTAINING SEQUEL

This book takes place eight weeks after the shocking cliffhanger from book 1 and Porter has been heartbroken and devastated but he's been by Ella's bedside the whole time..... ahhh true love. Sadly, things didn't go right and my emotions were constantly being put on high alert during this listen, whether it was joy and happiness, anger and sadness, fear and dread or just to bask in their beautiful relationship.

Anie Michaels created the perfect Hero when she made Porter as he was so so thoughtful, kind, sexy, loving, supportive, handsome... oh I've got to stop myself from gushing here but he was mouth-wateringly perfect.

No substance...

This book is the cotton candy of romance novels. There was very little to it, it was sickly sweet, no real flavor and not at all fulfilling. If all you're looking for is background noise while you do something else, this will suffice. If you want something more than that, look elsewhere.

For the most part this was a good book. A little immature and a little cheesy and repetitive but still entertaining. What I liked most about the book was the sexual tension through the whole book. Not just a sudden lets screw but a wanting, a need on both their parts. That part was very good and would make me want to read more from this author. I read a lot and its nice to find an author who knows how to write about chemistry between a man and woman. They had sex several times but it wasnt as good as the sexual tension, and thats alright with me. If the book has sexual tension I dont even care if it has sex.

I think what made this a good story was when it became a kidnapping and how everyone worked as one to get Kelly back: Jack, Andrew, Chad, Aunt Mabry, Mrs. Poole and Kellys family. The book went from a simple love story to a mystery/suspense.

Yeah, it could have been better but, overall, I liked it. I didnt find myself zipping through pages or chapters trying to find something worth reading and thats saying something.

As to the narrator: Ms. Pepin did an OK job. He sounded a little masculine when Jack and Kelly made love, for both of them.

Woah!

I am literally hanging on every single word of these books! I love them... This is one interesting story... and every single volume throws something new at you.. I loved it.. This is dark romance... and I mean dark... When Lilly peeks through the window, OMG! I was so pissed at Stoneheart...why does he need Lilly if he's got dizzy lil secretary...

Narration was great... This is such a buy book.. don't waste a credit on this, as it so cheap... But if it was more expensive then yes.. Credit, Buy or Sale.

Getting Darker By the Momment

This book is so dark and has lots of twists and turns. You listen to the book and your emotions go for a roller coaster ride. I still cannot pin down Jeremy Stonehart. He is evil, yet caring. It amazes me how the author captures the turmoil in this character so well. You hang on every word and I still don't know if I want to kill him or feel empathy for him. Lilly is starting to loose it a bit in this book. Too much over thinking things is making her crazy. She cannot understand JS either. She thinks she is getting him and then he shocks her. It is not always a good shock. Little by little more of the reason for her abductions is coming to light. Anne, the house keeper is also a mystery to be solved. What is her connection to all of this? I still cannot wait for the next book. Please Scarlett Edwards, but this in one long extremely captivating book.

Now were getting somewhere, this one is getting more dark I love it! And it's really a mind game with Stoneheart, nice one minute angry and violent the next, and we get to find out some things that just bring up more questions and who and why? it's really starting to get into the depth of the story. I can't wait for more!

I loved It

As much as I enjoyed the 1st book in the Redemption series I loved this book. I laughed so often and Lucy Rivers brought this story to life just as she did in the 1st book. This was worth the wait and purchase.

Not In My Corner

I wanted to like this since reading the blurb but unfortunately, it lacks depth. The heroine never clicked for me. Then we get to this abrupt ending. Everything that seemed so difficult was suddenly fixed within just a few lines. There was potential but sadly, it was never reached.

disappointing indeed!

The story was very shallow. Characters lacked depth and the heroine was childish in the manner she kept pushing the hero away and then pulling him back in. Bipolar acting in almost every scene in response to him. And then Sarah Castille decides to end the story and all of a sudden the mystery as to how to beat this huge and powerful law firm becomes child's play. It is all fixed within just a few lines in the book and the world is put to rights again while the heroine is almost over night able to accept love in her life. Ugh. I am glad this book is over but I am disappointed that so much potential for this book went down the tube so fast. I was really looking forward to reading this book.

Absolutley loved this story!!

With the market currently flooded with MMA fighter novels and me being a relatively picky rlistener, it takes something above and beyond to keep me reading this type of novel these days. Oh, and I am a big fan of MMA so I get kind of twitchy when its not done right. Sarah Castille has done it right and then some

Love & Drama

This is the second book in the Pride series and it didn't disappoint! Each book seems to follows the life of the townsfolk of Pride, Oregon usually focusing on two characters in particular. In this one we follow as Lacey and Aaron start their relationship only to be bogged down by distrust, misunderstanding and a psychotic ex-fiancé bent on murder! The characters are well developed, both in personality traits and physical descriptions. The plot is woven to keep you entertained with just enough twists to enhance your enjoyment! While you can easily listen to this book without enjoying the first book, I'd recommend doubling your fun and listening to them in order. It will help build the foundation on which the characters are structured.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Pride series. it is an excellent start to a wonderful series. Great storyline with wonderful characters. excellent narration. I definitely recommend it and all of Jill's books.

I am really enjoying this series. The only down side to this book was it ended abruptly. The story was great! It had romance , mystery , love and the awww factor but just ended to sudden .

I loved the narrator she bought the story to life for me. The author write a wonderful tale that I could not wait to see how it would end.The characters were really down to earth that you really just want to get to know better. The story held my interests and for me was a page turner.

I did feel the book ended to soon, a lot was left out. I would have loved to know how his parents dealt with him and his marriage. I would have enjoyed to have read what happen to his ex.

What I enjoyed was knowing that Aaron found his family after a very unhappy childhood. He is such a wonderful sweet man, you could feel his pain and can understand why he had trust issues.
