What would have made Home to Seaview Key better?

Seth and Abbey could have been less wimpy with each other. Seth was much too weirded out about her money and both of them were much too afraid of the commitment thing. That went on for way too long. It almost had a whiney tone to it. The whole story needed some oomph to it.

What could Sherryl Woods have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Make Seth more of a heroic figure. The feel of romance was missing. There was no bad guy either. No sense of danger at any time that they had to over come. Something to make the story a page turner.

How could the performance have been better?

Her voice for Seth at times made him sound like a teenager so she needs to improve her adult male dialogue voice. It would help over all of she could use a slightly less calm and quiet voice as I was often made sleepy listening to this story.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Home to Seaview Key?

Perhaps one or two of the scenes with Luke and Hannah discussing her insecurities about his relationship with Abbey. That was supposed to have been taken care of in their story and none of us wants that so endlessly rehashed in the next book.

I enjoy Susan Wiggs and this listen was no exception. It has it all: good character development, a strong plot and an engaging story line.

Not cost effective

This series is an amazing series however it should've been one or two large books not 23 or 28 Small books . one hour books it's a waste of money when you could buy just one larger book for 14 verses and five small ones for five each. I think audible is just trying to get more money. Because the books do not review the other books they start right from the end to the next book beginning so there's no references to go by if you don't read them in order. You need to read this series in order.

So much happens throughout this volume: love, romance, friendship, betrayal, sadness, optimism, revelations, comedy, mourning, melancholy, healing and shock (as in the cliffhanger at the end!). My heart sped up and thumped hard at certain points, my mouth crept up into a smile at others.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Selecting a favorite character is tough. Of course, Avery & Sean, the main characters, are wonderful to read about and are easily my favorite but the secondary characters are also amazing. Mel is all in-your-face attitude & Marty is the underdog male character you kinda feel sorry for and want to hug.

Which character as performed by Kitty Bang was your favorite?

Avery: Omigosh! Kitty Bang packs so much emotion when reading Avery's part. She gives me shivers!

Mel: I love the attitude she gives Mel. You can easily distinguish characters when Kitty Bang switches from Avery to Mel because she gives Mel a slight accent that is just the right kind of tough for Mel.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed at the "super slut" & "transvestite snowman" comments. Avery says the funniest things at the most unexpected, unfunny moments! Of course, when reading a romance book, any declaration of one's feelings is always a strong moment but the last chapter of this book is exceptionally powerful *shivers*.

The Arrangement is a love story between Sean Ferro (a rich and powerful man with a tormenting past) and Avery Stanz (a University student who is trying to survive against all odds). It is one of the Ferro Family stories by H.M Ward. Other Ferro series are Damaged, Stripped and The Proposition. Each series can be read individually but they cross-over each other at certain parts.

Another good mystery with a love story entwined. I hope she continues with the mystery writing, I am really enjoying them.

An ok story

Spoiler - the heroine falls in love less then two months after her husband, whom she loved dearly, dies. I found the timeline uncomfortable. Other then that, a good enough romantic suspense, which religious belief touches.

Well worth the credit.

I enjoy Sherryl Woods' books and this one is no exception. The story and characters are engaging and believable with all the passion, action and human interest typical of the author.

A Jewel of a Collection

Lori Wilde hits another home run. I love Twilight, TX from the beautiful descriptions of the town to the people who live there. These town's members always help a person out. When Carrie finds out that that her high school sweetheart is returning with a reality TV show. The town pulls together to keep her secret from being discovered. Raylene, who owns the town's Horny Toad Bar with her husband, shows that true love can survive anything. Once Earl finds out her secret, he leaves to deal with the information. Shannon becomes her barmaid while Earl is gone but seems to remind her of someone though she can't quite put her finger on it. Will Earl return? Then there is Christine, who had dreams of becoming an Olympic hopeful that were crushed after a terrible accident when she was 16. She owns and runs the towns bakery. In walks the man who was her high school crush asking for a cake for his daughter. Will she finally have the family she's always dreamed of?

I love the littlest story at the end with Jesse and Flynn - it was the perfect touch to finish the book.

I look forward to reading other stories set in this little town. Each one is a perfect jewel that you'll want to hold onto.

A PG romance with a serious subject

This is a PG romance book. If you are looking for steamy love scenes...this is not the book for you. If you want a hero and heroine that want to deny their feelings until they can deny no more....then this IS the book for you.

The author tries to use alcoholism as a issue in the relationship...but she doesn't use it to make the book too serious where it brings you down. Which is obviously not the way alcoholism usually plays out in people's lives....but it's a fiction romance book.

I usually don't like male narrators but I really enjoyed this one. James Langton is the best male narrator I have heard yet.

This book is a good easy listen....It is a cheap book so it is worth the price. I wouldn't use a credit simply because it is cheap.

Ok, but too clichè

I have only just discovered Laura Landon and, after enjoying Intimate Deception, I thought I'd give this a try. While I probably wouldn't use a credit on it, I was happy enough with what I got for the price of the kindle edition with added narration.

The story was compelling enough to keep me interested but I have to say the extended monologue by the cackling villian while the helpless heroine waits for the hero to make his move was just a little too clichèd for me. Also, unless the concept of smuggling is completely foreign to you ( and by foreign I mean you have NEVER heard the term 'smuggler' and you do not have even the most elementary understading of the topic) then the 'murder mystery' will become no more than a predictable sub plot within the first three chapters. Still, the story was interesting enough to carry the predictable mystery even if I did feel that the M.C's came across as pretty dim everytime they stood around wondering who was trying to kill them and tried to figure out what the deal was with the parcel of land Annie inherited.

I probably would not listen to A Risk Worth Taking again because I don't reread any books. But if I did it would be because of Langton's narration.

This story was primarily told from the man's perspective and most of the characters were men. Langton also does wonderful accents.

BEST IN THE SERIES !!!!!

True to Linda Lael Miller's style this audio book is full of down home country warmth, real folks, and a few of those castoff critters who need a loving home, both the four-footed and two-footed variety. Along with that, it's chock full of enough cowboy country colloquialisms to choke a horse, but those of us who enjoy these Big Sky stories don't mind. In fact, that is what adds to the charm. Speaking of adding to the charm, the gravely, baritone of Jack Garrett just about melts me into a puddle every time I hear his voice. I think he has the voice of the quintessential cowboy. So that makes this listen just about perfect for me.

An enjoyable listen.

A welcome addition to the Parable series, this listen definitely holds its own. Well worth the credit, especially if you are a Linda Lael Miller fan. Jack Garrett does a great job with the narration which adds considerably to the listening experience.

Boring! Series getting progressively worse!

Up untill now I had listened to every Linda Lael Miller book available but this series has me putting on the audio brakes. The previous book was too silly to live and this book follows suit. I finally figured out what drove my crazy! There is barely any verbal communication between characters. It's a compilation of inner musings, rambling thoughts and contemplations. Yeah we know the h was hurt big time but come on! She was a weird timid little rabbit who's mouth, throat, mind etc was to dry so she was unable to speak. Hey maybe that's why her thoughts were always in her head! And the H wasn't any better. He never voiced his thoughts either unless he was forced to speak on the phone. The romance department was also totally weak. Barely a spark and mostly fizzle.

I like this book, and like the voice of the narrator but his pace is too slow for me. I wish he'd read a bit faster. I'm now listening at 2X and that is a little too fast, but it is preferable to 1X.

Unabridged version?

Good book with good narration. However, it is supposed to be the unabridged version. It does NOT end the same as the book. They left out the epilogue. I like it much better with everything that was in the book. That is why it is only 2 stars, would be 5 if they had finished it.

I enjoyed this, it was a fun read. Had some action, romance, and a good story plot. I do wish that we had more inner dialogue from Finn. I wanted to get to know him better and hear more about how he was feeling about Peyton.
