Maya Banks continues to write great stories

This book was very well written and had just the right amount of humor. I wish it were longer. It would be great if she wrote a great story. The characters in this story were so true to life. They were so real and so funny. I hope a lot of Maya Banks readers get to read this story.

ENJOYABLE BUT WAY TOO SHORT

I love love love Maya Bank's books and savour everything she writes - however, I feel these short stories are a bit too short - yes they pack a lot in and are usually romantic, hot and sweet but sadly I probably won't be downloading anything more that's just a few hours long.

You do get a good quick entertaining and enjoyable listen but it just doesn't quite satisfy your appetite - it's like eating a M burger, yes it's quick, enjoyable and filling but a steak done on the BBQ is something you can get your teeth into and is far more rewarding and satisfying - so I'll probably just stick to her +6 hr listens in future.

We Texans don't have accents.. Ya'll do...

Not a bad story. Very believeable characters. I'm sure it's happened in Texas before. Easy to get attached. BUT...the narrator's accent is HORRIBLE... I live in Beaumont! We don't sound like that! It was very distracting for me.

Sweet Romance

These Moreno brothers are quite a bunch of alpha males, and now we get thier sister's story. Presented through the easy-going and smooth writing of Reyes, this sweet romance is a light, happy listen. High quality narration a bonus!

I fell in love with the first book in this series. Angel and Sarah had such a beautiful love story. So I was excited to read this second book in the series. Unfortunately, it just didn't have the same kind of compelling story. There was no build up and it just seemed like a story of an every day couple going through the ups and downs of being in a relationship. It was just ok for me.

A answer to my nagging ???'s

It took me to the 3rd book in this series to finally understand why I liked and not loved the other books and what it was that was missing from them that I just couldn't quit put my finger on. Answer is.....emotions! While she told you how they were feeling she never once made me feel those feelings like a truly gifted writer can/could. But in this book you get that. Not a lot but you do finally get it.

This book is my fav in the series so far. It made me question some of the things I did like Sof when I was a teenager and I am now able to better understand why some of those things happen and why I have some of the doubts I have today. I think this should be a must listen for any young girl who has fallen in love the first time.

Eric was the sweetest of all the boys in this series so far and I am glad he got his happy ending. Also glad Sof finally got a taste of the real world with out being sheltered from it.

Boy did I need a cool drink after hearing this hit passionate story when you thought that it was more than forbidden to even thinking like that could label you a deviant. My hats off to Ms Kitt for such fascinating story line about secrets within the Catholic church. Awesome.

Come for the Sex, Stay for the Story!

This book is very erotic and it drew me in right from the start. Tons of lust, mystery, and romance entangled in this one, but you get hooked in the story, so glad I stumbled upon this gem. If you're a fan of erotica you'll want to give this book a go. You'll be drawn in by all the naughtiness but you'll stick around for the ride because the book has so much more than just great sex it has a great storyline as well. Definitely worth a $/credit.

Unexpected ending

When something well written as this story has a surprising ending, it wanted me to hear more I'm getting the next books !!

3.5 stars is what I would give this one. Temptation is definitely erotic and the chemistry between Leah and Mr Nolan is downright off the chains and so very hot that it's scorching. But the overall storyline in my opinion, dragged at times. Not enough to turn me off the series but just enough that I thought about not finishing the book, which as it turns out, would have been a mistake because it ended with a BANG!!!!

Bittersweet Narration

What did you love best about Bittersweet Love?

I am a fan of the Eaton Family Series. So this story was very enjoyable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bittersweet Love?

The most memorable moment was when Belinda & Griffin realized how wrong they both were in their opinions of each other..

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was a disappointment. First, she mispronounced a number of words throughout the story. It was VERY distracting. Second, her reading was choppy in places; pausing where she should not have. Third, her reading just went flat at some points. It was as if this was a practice run. Some of the other Eaton stories were narrated by Corey Allen, ...very enjoyable other than his voice did not register as low as it should have for some of the male dialogue. But he did not constantly mispronounce words as Erica Love did.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

This was not a romance story it was a total farce.

This was the worst story line anyone could come up with. I have read a couple of this authors books and thought that this one sounded okay but after about the fist hour of listening I was amazed that anyone could come up with such a ridiculous idea. To advertise this as romance is false advertising. It would be better in the comedy section and even better in total farce. It was not the narrators fault as I have listened to him read other stories. This was one that the author should have left in the garbage bin. Please do not waste your time on this one. I will not buy another of her stories. Bad!!!!

Warm, wonderful and engaging.

I loved this book every bit as much as the others in the series and hated to hit the pause button. It definitely stands on its own but is a welcome part of the series since you also get to catch up with the characters from previous books. Linda Lael Miller seldom fails to deliver and this is no exception. Well worth the credit - hope there is another book or two in the series.

There have been a few times that I didn't really like the beginning of a book but found with continued listening it would become an enjoyable story after a rough start. Not in this case! Each and every time I would continue to listen I found myself rolling my eyes and forcing myself to listen hoping it would get better. This is a book about an incredibly selfish, lying, deceitful woman that proudly goes to church and then returns home to the people she supposedly loves to lie some more...Gimme a break...my eyes are rolling just thinking about the story. No more Linda Lael Miller for me.

IT WAS PURELY PHYSICAL BUT THEN IT BECAME PERSONAL

First of all I give 5 stars to whoever is responsible for the cover picture - get a load of that...... oh and those...... not to mention the...... (right girls).

Anyway enough drooling back to the contents, I'm afraid at the start I was a bit disappointed in the first half of this book for the following reasons 1) there seemed to be a lot of 'motion' and not enough emotion or storyline..... a little conversation then sex, play Xbox then hot sex, coffee then sex, oh look at that view then.... yup you got it sex - well you get the picture. Don't get me wrong I like these types of books but there just wasn't a strong enough story to go with the repetitive sex for a lot of the book. 2) I had a little trouble at the start liking or connecting with either Liz or Gavin much as, from book 1, each of them seemed selfish and 3) there was plenty of dissing Mick from book 1 and not enough explaining or recapping just why he didn't like Liz or giving what his understandable reason was.

Having said that, as the story progressed we see more of Liz and Gavin's character traits being peeled away and their vulnerabilities and histories were revealed and the final half just sucked me right in - there was drama, conflict, arguments, heartache, passion and it was sweet, romantic and had a couple of lovely ahhhhh moments - and yes followed by sex of course.

Worth a credit? Well of course I'm going to say YES after all who can resist a steamy escape into these passion filled listens.

Meh. That's really all I can say about this book. Was it bad? No way. Was it amazing? Unfortunately not. It was just . . . in the middle. My biggest complaint was the fact that all the sex started so quickly. (GASP -- I know, I know, I love my smexy books, but hear me out!). I wasn't sold on Liz from book 1, but I was willing to give her a second chance in her own book. However, this book starts off with sex pretty quickly, and I didn't yet have a chance to really KNOW Liz and/or change my mind about her. I still can't say I really connected with her or Gavin, although I suppose I liked them enough.

The narrator wasn't the best, either. Her female voices are a bit nasally, and I was able to zone out at times.

Will I read more of Burton's books? Of course; I loved the first book in this series.

Boringggg

The storyline could've been so much more elaborate it just completely fell short and the person narrating the story especially doing these voices just made the book unbearable to listen to glad they provided her name I'm making sure not to buy any books where she is narrating.

One pet peeve

I liked this story and I like this writer. The story was quick, sexy and cute. Both characters were really strong and written well. My only pet peeve is that the author should complete a little research. Marines are not Soldiers. Soldiers are not Marines. Both would be offended to be called either. I would definitely listen to more by Dez Burke.

This is one of the hottest, sexiest books ever!

This book is so hot I almost cinged my fingers on my kindle while reading it! Hawk and Ashanti are hotter than hot! Love the story! The sexy Marine and the beautiful, recently dumped business owner have a one-night stand that turns both their lives upside down! The story was cool and fun, the writing is well-paced, and the sex scenes are explosively hot! Loved it! Dez has a fan for life in this reader. Pepper L. does an amazing job reading this!

Finally the light bulb went on!

I felt this was a good storyline and the characters believable. I was glad that Hawk finally realized that he was in love with Ashanti.

This is a reissue in hard back of an old book

This is an early book made to look like a new book. The publisher is making a bad habit of doing a reissue in hard back of her books which were originally paperbacks. I can't believe she needs the money so the publishers must be hard up. Be sure to check the original publication dates before you order.

Old, but good

LegacyI have this book in paperback form. When I received email ( signed up on her website for fan newsletter) that this book was available as eBook, I went right to my kindle and got it. I know, why buy it again? Sometimes I like to reread some of my authors books. With my kindle, I have my library with me, don't have to wait 'til I get back home to look for it.

Now as for the story, do remember this is an old book from the mid 1980's. First you have Constantine Landry (Conn)the business man who has bought a race horse, Legacy. Legacy is the foal of his late stepfather's champion stallion.

Second, the lady, Honor Mayfield who Conn wants to get to know Very well. Honor, whose father was a partner with Conn's stepfather in the business world as well as co-owners of a racehorse before both men were killed. Honor doesn't know who Conn really is or his real reason for wanting to meet her. The story starts off with them both meeting at the race track where Conn's horse, Legacy is racing. I could go on, but why spoil the story for you.

The characters are similar to others in her much older books, domineering male etc. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did.

Good romance

I love horses and totally enjoyed the light love story of Honor and Conn. I recommended this story to all the romantics out t here.

This did not make me smile.

I am sending this back, as I didn't realize that it was a reissue of three much earlier books. When the rename these and put them together, it is very misleading. It should be clearly marked as a reissue so others don't make the same mistake I did and think they were getting a new title.

That being said, I do have the original titles and I enjoyed them when I read them - a long time ago.

I loved reading this book

I loved reading this book. I could hardly put it down. I felt sadness for both characters at the loss of fathers they both loved even though it happened 15 years before they met. I felt sorrow and pain for Conn because of some well invented information he received he believe that he had been betrayed by someone for whom he cared. I was impressed by Honor for her decision not to give up on the man she loved despite his inability to put what he felt for her into words she wanted to hear.
