This book showed up in my mail box this month. I apparently had ordered it but I don't remember why. I didn't recognize the author so it must have been a recommendation. And the fact that it arrived in the mail and not directly to my Kindle was even more of a puzzle. But it happened to show up when I was just finishing up another book so, putting my TBR list aside, I began this one as soon as it arrived.

I was immediately pulled in because 1)it has two characters who share the same names as two of my daughters and 2)the main character has the career I intended to have when I entered college oh so many years ago. Those things pulled me in but it was the story that held me there. I was sure I had predicted what was going to happen at least 4 different times and I was wrong every time. When it finally became clear how it would all play out it felt right to me. I love when a story leaves me not wanting to rewrite the ending.

A very sweet story of love, loss, friendship, and what's important in life.

I will definitely seek out other books by Kristin Harmel. (less)

Wow, just wow, this book was amazing, different, unique, heartbreaking, heartwarming, full of hope, redemption.

We have our ghost heroine Kate, she has been a living shell for the past 10 years. She doesn't know how to live, how to breathe, how to not be in pain 24/7 and she thinks she should be doing some things in her life, but then, she starts seeing her late husband in her dreams and showing her what would have happened if he hadn't died. It broke my heart every time she dreamed of her husband, i kept reading expecting her to fall asleep! Then i realized, that was not healthy, she was only living to fall asleep again and be with her unfulfilled future and it was affecting her reality.

good but...

Don't believe the description of this book. Heroine has started adoption of her deceased half sisters child, ten months old. Has had child for 6 months, baby calls her mama, suddenly "daddy" escapes from a POW camp in Asia, off record, he was an army ranger. Only knew sister for a week right before he went off, came home found her letters, started making calls, and suddenly he the better option?? They don't get married until the last chapter, there is TOO much angst, too much whine. How could he possibly be the better option? Also, how much emotional trauma are you going to inflict on the baby? Also, no epilogue, ending kinda stunk.

A quality book

I'm not one for Harlequin Romance novels, but I have to recommend this one. It's not the typical weak writing that we usually see in these novels and the plot is enjoyable as well. If you even remotely like this type of novel then I would suggest that you will love this one. Go for it, for a couple of bucks you won't regret it!

Nice Read

This was a good book, but as the other 3-star reviewer noted there was a lot of angst and way too much whining. It could have easily been a 4.5-5 star book if the heroine had not appeared not-so-bright in the way she handled things and her whining just got so old that it was irritating.

Sara Darling is in the process of adopting her baby niece after the mother was killed in an auto accident. She has fallen in love with this bundle of joy and is desperate when she is notified that the father is actually alive.

Jake Martin, the baby's biological father, who has been presumed dead after a capture while on a mission, returns from a POW camp. He finds out he is a father and has petitioned to get his daughter.

This read is good enough to recommend, but if you become aggravated with heroines who whine a lot, don't see reason, and act out in not so smart ways, you may want to skip it. As for me, I was quite frustrated most of the way through.

Good read

Marriage for Her Baby by Raye Morgan is a good read. Ms Morgan has delivered a well written book. Sara and Jake's story is loaded with drama and great characters. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Raye Morgan in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I purchased a copy of this book at a library sale.

Good Romance Novel

Marriage For Her Baby is a good read. This was interesting because it kept the focus on the baby. The hero and heroine made a family first, their main priority. After some ups and downs they figure out how to make their combined lives work.

The characters are a lot of fun - the plot full of interest and twists and turns. This is beautifully read. Zana Bell writes great books and this is a goodie.

The dinner scene where the lady and the poor boy switch roles.

The lilting Irish voice for Quinn - what a lovable character.

Absolutely. And I have come back to it and re-listened to it.

It isn't just the main characters that are so likeable, the other characters are very well drawn to. The imagery is vivid - listening to it was almost like watching a movie. One of those books that leave you feeling satisfied and better for having read it.

Really struggled with this one

I normally love Susan Lewis books but this one I just couldn't get in too !! Struggled from the start to the end even though the story was very much of what is happening in most schools today I just found it very slow, disjointed

Not as good as others

I did not enjoy this as much as others I've read !! the content was left until the end !! Also I did not like the narrator'.

Good book

Took me a while to get used to the Welsh accents, a little annoying in the beginning but very well read.

A must read for parents.

The twins. They were often needed for some commic relief.

There were many moving moments, but telling you willgive the end away, so I'll tell you my second most moving scene. Page's speech to her dad.

This is a powerful story that is told with great insight that the reader is instantly drawn in to the lives of the characters. I learnt a lot about the private lives of teenagers in and out of school. I would highly recommend that parents should read this.

Too long for a storyline so boring and predictable, although I didn't find the writing bad.

Boy meets girl, inevitable obstacles and miscommunications occur, they get over it, happy ending.

Interracial Romance

I didn't even start reading the book because I thought the book was about African American Romance but this is interracial. Not that I have anything against interracial couples, but I expect to get what I pay for; and that was African American romance.

Tanner is IT!

I enjoyed this book very much. The insecurities that the leading lady portrayed was nauseating but I will sympathize because as a woman, we all have them. The leading man was just wonderful and reminded me of my leading man! This is not my 1st book by this author and I must admit once again he did not disappoint.

The story was just flat.the dialogue seemed stilted and unreal.the intent was there bust it was just lacking in the chemistry and passion that a reader should feel.I hope she improves and does a better job next time.This one just did not do it!

I really enjoyed the Vegas setting and the brothers were hot. I also liked the update on Madison and Stuart. My only issue was the misspelled words. Otherwise, great read.

Truly a Treasure!

What a find! I had been looking for several weeks for some scripture passages like this. I close my office door and have a few minutes to reflect on the day and this is perfect! I love the scripture selection and the music is beautiful. The singer's voice is so soothing. "My God, I offer my day to you" is my prayer set to music. What a treasure!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This offering is less than 10 minutes long. Not long enough for ER, ICU, or ER waiting room, but perfect for in the car getting there. Or on the way to work, especially third shift paramedicals or law enforcement. Short enough to keep you safe on the road, or to keep stress away. Would be good for on the ride home from a stressful shift caring for others, as well. Perfectly balanced prayer set to simple but elegant music, and encouraging verses from the Christian bible.

KP has not only read aloud the verses, but provided the music, and has done a remarkably good job on each.

I could read this kind all day

I loved this book. It was beautifully written.

The movie was great.

Hmmmm...MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!

It was an okay story. There was a lot of back and forth between the main characters, each denying their love and saying it was for the best! It was annoying. This book could have easily been 100 pages shorter with cutting all the B.S. out! There was this one point where she found out he still visited the house they shared and she began to wonder if he had another woman there. When she asked him, he told her that he thought she knew him better than that and then he walked off. Well, she told him she was only with him for his title and wealth and he believed her and walked off. Should that not work both ways?? I kept thinking that how should she have believed in him if he did not believe in her!!! Not to mention that had he not found out about her from their mutual friends, he would have married that woman in 3 days. He was all set to do it so how am I supposed to find his actions justifiable?? He was not a very good hero in my book and she was not a very good heroine. They just kept torturing each other and they acted like children! There are some parts I liked or I would have given this a worse rating but it was an okay story and worth an afternoon if you are bored. I really wanted a book where the hero fell for his mistress and she ended up the way this heroine did but this did not quench my interest like I thought it would. Oh well! I bought and read this and will not discourage others from getting this book because it was decent all in all! It left me with a smile on my face at the end!

Romantic Historical

I love Harlequin Historicals. Mistress to the Marquis is among the best I've read. I was hooked from the very beginning by the aptly named, Alice Sweetly. Razeby is a man trapped by convention and rules of the Ton. You can tell on every page that these two love each other and so belong together. I was rooting on every page for them to get out of their predicament and find the way to happily ever after. Ms. McPhee did not disappoint.

Just OK

This book is unique in that it is about the discarded mistress rather than the innocent who is attracted to the usual rake/hero of the story. I also liked the fact that the author did not spend time describing all of the clothing in boring detail. However, some of the phrases do not fit in with the Regency period ('been there and done that'). The ending of the book is unsatisfying. How were things settled with the Duke? How did Razeby's marriage to a scandalous woman finally fare in society's eyes, which was the main theme of the story? Three stars only for leaving the reader hanging...
