What a twist!

I didn't think I was going to end up getting book 2- the audio is inconsistent and crackling.

But by the end of the book I was dying for the next one- twist ending!

Narrator needs remedial English lessons

The story was okay, a bit trite but decent twist on the genre.

BUT the narrator needs remedial English lessons. She mispronounces simple words, gets words mixed up or just flat wrong. Of course it might be the author needing the work for some.

Examples.

1 Impasse is pronounced with a LONG a sound while the narrator uses a short a. It doesn't make the speaker sound cultured, it makes them sound like a dope.

2 rogue and rouge, rouge is red, rogue is something like a thief. This would only make sense if the house was referred to as rouge earlier, tossing it in now makes the book read as odd.

Twists and turns!! Great story

I fell in love with this book, it's been great. looking forward to the rest of the books. I felt as the narrator hit every emotion correctly, and made the story very pictureable, not confusing.

I liked it. the so called twist was completely predictable in my opinion, but I still enjoyed it. narrator was good, although at times the fake southern drawl used for different characters became irritating. story had a good pace

Top 5 series in my opinion

Never boring or slow, always a twist. Dialog amusing storyline well thought out and easy to follow. Spend the credit you won't be sorry.

A little disappointed at the length of th story. But it delivered. Fun sideline story. Maybe it will show up in the future.

Another Awesome Win!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Possession to be better than the print version?

Each version gives you a different view of the story. I love print because I have the characters voices and looks in my head but Eric's version and the voices give the story a whole new aspect for me. It is like coming to know the characters again for the first time and I love it!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

It is soooo hard to have a favorite character in this. The sacrifice made by Narchari is tremendous and unforgettable. He has been a long time favorite but I truly love them all with all of their different layers of personality and talents.

Which scene was your favorite?

To name only one scene would have to be when Narchari sees his twin Shelby. So very heart touching.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Come to Dark Moon Vale and meet the vampires with Bite!!

I have read this series several times and can not get enough. I am not usually and audio book fan but Eric Dove has done such a wonderful job at capturing these characters and giving it a whole new dimension that I am glad I gave it the chance. Don't wait!! Get the books, get the Audio books and slide into a wonderful world of Dark Fantasy that will grab you and not let go. The characters are rich and you will experience every emotion known to man. I want to live in Dark Moon Vale

Two elements are essential in any audio book. There must exist a great story and it must be read by a fabulous narrator. Tessa Dawn has already provided us with a great story. The Blood Curse Series remains one of the most original vampire series in recent years.

The lion sleeps tonight...well, not really!

We pick up where the last story left off and find out what happened with a few of the free shifters from the Kendrick compound that was raided in the Mate Bond book, (I think). This story is about Seamus who is the shifter that is on the run with a small cub, and tells us what he does to protect those put in his charge. We also meet Bree, who is a shifter want-to-be groupie, and how she help's Seamus deal with being on the run. Seamus also turns out to be a distant cousin to the Morrissey clan/pack of Austin Tx. I like the story because you again see and hear from old favorites as well as see how the shifters come together to protect their own. Always love to hear about the younger cubs and how they are growing up within the group. The story line is straight to the point and set's you up for the next chapter in the Shifter Unbound series.

This was my first time hearing David Brenin, and I think he did a fair job. So all in all, yeah, I think it was worth the credit. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Fantastic!!!

I love this series I don't know how I never found this series before I search for series about the gods but I found this by mistake & it's delightful!! What a ride I'm starting book 2 I wish they were all audio

Great story, great series but

But I really wish there was a different narrator. It takes awhile to get used to the author's voice. Then again once you're used to it, then you can get lost in the story. And she does an okay job but I'd rather here another narrator. Listen to the sample before you buy. Then decide. I'll be doing that for now on instead of blindly clicking books I love.

Godhunter book 1

I initially thought this book was silly and insipid. But as I continued to read I finally got the author's (tongue firmly in cheek ) sense of humor.And by the end of the book I was was hooked I like the story line and can't wait to see what happens in book 2. Unfortunately book 2 doesn't have any narration....boooo Other than that this a wild ride for our protagonist.As soon as she is out of one scrap she's into another. Alot of fun reading

This is the second installment to a series...I don't recommend reading this installment

I finished the first book in this series and thought it was mediocre but offered enough adventure to make me want to see how the story played out. The cliffhanger in the end of course led me to purchase this next installment.

I cannot stomach this 2nd book.

Meaning I can't get past the first few chapters.

SEARCH has a mundane cliche story line, that is unfolding as lazy, convenient and predictable.

I thought i was getting YA Urban Fantasy when I started this series, and was surprised by all the character's first person POV & inner dialogue about sex sex sex. I'm thinking this is more a romance-smut genre novel. But I came across the first book in YA Urban fantasy...-ohwell

**plot line spoiler (-ish)**

My reason for calling this mundane cliche and lazy:

-The heroine is torn between two dudes -good guy rivals. One very goody two shoes but tough and good fighter ; the other bad boy snarky-pants that forces love-hate relations, also tough and good fighter. Both on the side of GOOD (vs evil).

-The heroine began to discover her history (and her love interest) in the first intallment

-The second installment is supposed to elaborate on that plot, but it just goes into her new found riches and even more guys revealing their affections for her . And she feels 'soooo reluctant, torn and out of place, blah blah blah'. smh

This story is unfolding to be a mary-sue Princess Bride snore bore...just boring.

The whole time I was speed reading through the pages (trying to stomach the snore fest in effort to get to any semblance of adventure), all I could think is, "I could be reading something else...Something interesting...that I actually enjoy..."

So, I closed this book. I hate starting a story and not finishing it, but with so many other great kindle books in my library, I cannot waste valuable brain cells on this book. Maybe on a bored day, with no other viable options, I'll revisit and finish this one.

'Til then, I don't recommend this book.

Romance fell flat

I love this fantastical world, and I had such high hopes for this series, but I've found that Toby, Casey, and Jared have kind of ruined it for me.

Here's why--

1. Toby. He's boring. I don't know what it is about him in this series but I just don't feel that magnetic pull toward him that I felt toward Levi in The Crescent Chronicles. I actually liked Toby better at the end of the Crescent Chronicles than I do in this series. The relationship between Casey and him just doesn't pack as much chemistry as I'd like. I honestly thought that Jared had more chemistry with her.

2. Jared. Seriously? What a man w****. I always liked Jared because I believed there was a goodness inside of him. I wish the writer would have played up his goodness, had him turn around for Casey, because his chemistry with the heroine was far more evident.

shifters saved the world

I had not read this book so when I got this audio I was so shocked and happy with the story, shifters save humans from death but then get locked up by the government, silly humans not realizing secrets can not be kept and find their way out

Sexy Shifters and Their Fight to be Free

The narrator's voice reeled me in! The story line was a different take on Shifter Romance.

It starts out with the wolf pack and the history behind the containment of shifters. When a human is left for dead Holden, the Alpha of The River Pack, knows he must save the woman regardless of the threat it poses if the SAU finds out.

I loved having two stories by two incredible authors in one listen. Aiden Snow's performance was exactly what I hoped a dark shifter romance would be. His voice is sexy as hell and perfect to pull you in to the shifter world.

I'm looking forward to the next installment of the series.

Stolen

Holden and Ariels story sets the tone for the series while learn the ways of the pack. Dark and gritting, Holdens choice sets a unexpected chain of event. Giving a nice twist for shifters. Hot, hard and in your face the Branded Pack is nothing to mess with.

Forgiven

Cora and Soren story is dangerous, sassy and sexy. Past lovers find themselves in each others path when the humans force the wolves and tigers into one compound. Sorens mistake of the past has him chasing after anything Cora will give him.

Verdant Tells Shi's Tragic Love Story

In the first two books Shi became important to me as Forest's guide and confidante. That she is a ghostly guardian makes her all the more intriguing. I longed to know her story and Verdant delivers. Jayne writes a heart-breaking and beautiful story of over-enthusiastic and innocent love that goes wrong.

How love turns to hate and the price of their love is original and haunting. Jayne takes us back in time and shares a story that would be easy to turn into a moral, but her real complex portrayal of the characters and their lives makes it complex and rich.

This is a must read for any Regia fan, or anyone who loves a great story of young love and its folly.

Verdant Shook Me Up

Okay. Now, first I did not realize that this story of Regia of a novella. I only read the description and because I was very much interesting in knowing the back story of the wood and Shi as a friend of Forest. I immediately started reading it.

I am shook up a little. How tragic was that! Seriously. No resolution and although the ending stated that absolution was to come, I felt it could have come in this book. She was in so much pain and to have never dealt with it, should have made her crazy. And the harem Leramium married. She was kind and gentle in the end, but I wonder how she really felt about her man loving another woman. I mean is that where the bitterness in the queens line started? I dont know how to rate this one. It was obviously well written because it drew me in with the feelings of love and defiance. The ideal or Us Against the World is always appealing. With that said the ending was not ideal and has left me dejected.

Sweet & Tragic

Love can be happy & yet sometimes bittersweet. This one's ending made me cry but gives hope too.

Wow! An unexpected treasure!

I will start by saying I like dark, gritty, bloody, complex, sex, intrigue, magic, and adventure type books (Steven Erikson, Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, Jaqueline Carey, Joe Abercrombie). While this book is much more mild than most of my favorites, it still had everything. A wonderful romance that didn't overpower the story. It was realistic, with characters that weren't all good or all evil. Original unique cultures and landscapes, and all those little details that make the story come alive.

I think this book was even better than the first one. I found it hard to relate to the main character ( I like my female leads to be a bit more...evil lol ) but even as a soft hearted healer she had strength and determination, but in a realistic way, with moments of weakness and despair too.

My pros:

-well written, maybe not amazing, but more than satisfactory.

-Original ( I kinda covered the pros above)

- my biggest one: I actually didn't know what was going to happen!!!! That is RARE in a ton of books these days! Definitely a page turner!

My cons: ( and these really aren't even cons)

- It could have been longer, I would have liked more little hum drum daily life bits in between the important parts. Having said that, it ever felt rushed so that's probably a personal preference

-the sex scenes could have been a bit more detailed

-my biggest con: No Map!!! For such a interesting landscape with so much travel there should be a map! Couldn't find one anywhere (checked Google and the kindle version)

The first book, Kushiel's Dart is one of my all time favorites!

The Fading Lands series by C.L. Wilson

This series is probably the closest with plenty of romance, war, and a strong but compassionate healer for the main character.

The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon

Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean M. Abel

I enjoyed this story more than the first! I was elated when I finally find out who the hollow really was at the end. Great story! Can't wait for the next one!
