Been a fan for years, BUT.....
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Less about the sex. It seemed that 75+% was about sex. Though I do like some sex in books, I don't need/want it so much that the rest of the plot did not seem to matter much.
What could Christine Feehan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Better develop the actual plot of Cat escaping, and preparing for the time when Rafe found her. Cat should not be so much of a "wuss".
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Again, the sex portions seemed to drag on. I actually got up and did other things during many of those parts.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
i liked the initial concept, but she needs to go back for more planning, plotting and execution of a real story line.
    Any additional comments?
Christine's earlier books were much better. They still contained sex, but they also had a more thorough plot. I am not sure I will be reading (or listening to) any more of her books.
Repetitive, Dark Disturbing turn for Feehan
This latest in Feehan's Leopard series takes a dark turn into an area I'd rather pass on. What should be a romance, is more the submission of a young abused girl to a domineering control freak that was an uncomfortable and at times distasteful read from a distinguished and talented author.
Until the past few years, I've been an ardent fan of Feehan. Illness and other issues seem to have affected her writing in the past 3 or so years in 3 different series. Leopards Prey and Savage Nature, the two previous books in the present series were wonderful romantic thrillers with rich plots and great characters that I've reread a couple times.
Feehan's males tend to be over-the-top, but especially in the previous Savage Nature, the hero Drake was sensitive and well-balanced as well. In this latest offering we see a radical, and to me, disturbing twist to a manipulative almost borderline sadistic male lead and I'm not talking about the bad guy. I'll give two examples and will try to be as delicate as possible. When the new couple is living together he tells her that in the morning before she leaves their bed her mouth is to be on one of two places, kissing him, or on his...(I'll let your imagination fill in the blanks). He's not kidding, and this actually becomes an issue between them. His reasoning is not redeeming.

Dr. Holly Robbins lost her husband to a stray bullet, and now she has another patient on the brink between life and death. A patient whose mother offers a unique opportunity, but only if Holly can save her son.

    Not What I Expected
There comes a point in every really good bad horror film when you find yourself yelling at the TV, `Don't do THAT, are you crazy?!?" The Raising is that kind of really good bad horror film. I didn't think I was going to like it at all, but the author took an unbelievable and campy concept (Gypsy curse? Please.) and turned it into a Grade-A gem of a horror story.
Dr. Holly Robbins has lost the love of her life, Jacob. She's worked in the ER for far too long not to know that gone is gone forever, and everyone knows nothing can bring back the dead. But even the most clinical doctor has her moment of weakness when desperation and grief tangle with hope and even the most unlikely of possibilities becomes something you'd take time off of work to try.
If you like dark romance and campy horrors, gypsy curses and bringing the dearly depart back from the grave for one last night of love, I dare you not to like this story. If Pet Cemetery and Practical Magic had a love child, this is what it would read like.
Be careful what you wish for
    J. E. Taylor's tale of horror mixed with erotica is not for the faint of heart. A tramatized widow physican haunted night and day by the memory of the only man she ever loved will do just about anything to reunite with him -- but when the opportunity finally presents itself, will this widow regret the choice she alone can make?

    Still lovin' this series
I'm still lovin' this series, and as always, I'm looking forward to the next installment. I highly recommend this series to fans of cozy mysteries. It is very important to start with the first in this series.
    Wonderful series!
Love this series! The narrator is fantastic and the story line keeps you interested throughout the whole book.
    A Curse or Something Else?
Another great story in the series, although rather short but it's still worth your credit or the purchase. This is Dakota Cassidy's third book in the Wolf Mates series and it doesn't disappoint. The story picks up exactly where book 2 left off. Dakota has written a steamy short story but you shouldn't read this one unless you've read the first two Wolf Mate stories first.
Hollie Jackson has done another exceptional job with her telling of this story. She kept me immersed from start to finish. I felt as if I was there throughout the entire story. Overall, a perfect 5 rating.
I received this audio free from the author/narrator in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

    missed items/humor
I'm amazed how I missed some of the humor when I was reading. absolutely glad I listened to this story after reading it!
My favorite time travel series continues!!
This is my favorite time travel series because it follows actual history and people from that time. I enjoy how Ms. Woodbury develops wonderfully interesting characters and adds them to that particular time period. The story is full of intrigue and relationships but doesn't rely on detailed sex scenes and constant cursing instead of a plot.
    I'm Hooked
I be been Hooked after the first 15 min. Of Daughter in time and I just can't put down the series , And So , I'm off to the next exciting Book in the series . I think it's a must Read
    NEW CHARACTERS AND NEW TWISTS
What did you love best about Exiles in Time?
Exiles expands the scope of the series both geographically and in character development. We are introduced to unwilling time travelers and how they adapted to their unexpected circumstances in very different ways. Although old friends are substantially not present, their influence is present.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Exiles in Time?
When Cassie volunteers to be a decoy to mislead their pursuers. Her strength and self confidence in the wild demonstrates how she evolved and adapted from the person she described herself as before being brought to Wales.
Which character as performed by Laurel Schroeder was your favorite?
James Stewart. He slowly evolves from nobleman to soldier to friend, all the while keeping his dignity. It is nicely portrayed in the book and Ms. Schroeder's performance does that evolution credit.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The exchanges between Cassie and Samuel toward the end. Samuel has been a side story for so long that it is interesting to see him interact with Cassie in particular given the similarity of their circumstances.
    Gets Better And Better
What made the experience of listening to Exiles in Time the most enjoyable?
It just simply was enjoyable. I can't think of a specific thing other than "the combination of the story and the narrator" being just spot on.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that the story line continues the same arc but we get introduced to a new set of characters, and get to see them on their own not just as side-players to the earlier books' main characters. Callum and Cassie, and even Marty, stand on their own. Yes, they have a relationship of some sort to Meg and David etc. but we only have mention of Meg, David etc in this book (after the very beginning), and it's all Callum's story as he represents David in Scotland.

    boss gets his girl
asher finally lets his beast out and claims his mate, thousands years late will she take him
Col. Asher Brooks centuries old secrets revealed
Would you listen to Administrative Control again? Why?
Yes. I've read the book, listened an will do both again. I love the whole I Ops series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Can't choose. Love the banter with all of the "guys" their wit and boyish antics even though they are dangerous supernatural beings. Asher tries to pretend annoyance but gets a kick out their actions. Learning about the elusive Col. Asher was a surprise and Jinx is a strong, enticing woman.
Which character as performed by Rider was your favorite?
All of the ops team of misfits.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Centuries old secrets revealed to give into love.
    Any additional comments?
As advertised, a novella with strong male female ongoing romance. Stoic Asher and caring Jinx have loved each other for centuries but because of history and fear of a repeat they have never allowed their relationship.
The one thing that will bring Asher to Jinx is a threat to her safety. Look out bad guys.
It was great fun to watch the "boys" antics and see the leaders try to lead them. The story opens up all kinds of future intrigue and I for one could not wait to delved into future stories.
Since I knew going in this was a short read, I was not disappointed just anxious for more of these great characters, their loves, battles and revealed secrets.
So much missing in the story
I really like this series, so this book is great for moving things along, it was not so great at giving details. I feel like this book brought up more questions than answers. So many new plot points added, but in a really vague manner. I have to hope that the next book and the spin-off series will bring things to light.
Loved meeting Jinx in the last book and hoped to see her again. Not at all surprised to see her paired with Asher and that he is not a standard human. I am disappointed that we do not get their whole stories, sure things are mentioned, but there is so much more there to be told. Had this been a full book instead of a novella, it could have been epic.
This is a smexy steamy read, in the end. Oh boy, is it ever hawt!! All that waiting makes for a seriously combustible mating!
Like with other books in the series, it is a mixed narrative going between the leads POV.

But what does the legend of the Lady of the Forest have to do with her?
    Members Reviews:
    Great story
Enjoyed the storyline, weaving past centuries events into the present day story. However, the female narrator was a bit hard to bear. Her cadence was off and changed to affect different characters was hard to endure. Overall, a story worth the time.
Good story, took awhile to get past the narrator
Make sure you listen to the sample of this one, to determine whether or not the narrator's going to drive you nuts. After a while she stop bothering me so much, but it was really rough at the beginning
    interesting journey
shifting between present day and the 1800s takes a young girl in search of her identity.
    Loved The Intertwining Stories
What made the experience of listening to Wild Wood the most enjoyable?
I LOVED the female narrator, Anne Flosnik. She really drew you in.
What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed that the "present" day story took place right before Princess Diana married Prince Charles. I remember being so excited about the wedding. I also love when stories tell you what was happening in the past to set the stage for the present time.
What three words best describe Anne Flosnik and John Lee s performance?
Anne, pleasant, lyrical, interesting. John, accent, manly, a bit choppy.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I'd hate to give anything away but the information about her mother and siblings, saddened me and surprised me.
    Wild wood review
Narrator's voice was horrible but great story! I really did suffer through it primarily because it was so well written and interesting. I hope I never have to listen to that narrator again though...

    I love this Series,
I loved it all! Can't wait for the next books in the series! Great books!
    Another Chicagoland Winner
I love this series...it's well written, smart, intelligent and well crafted. You would think after this many books, the stories would begin to get stale or stilted...well, wrong. Ms Neill continues to develop Merit and Ethan as a power couple, to challenge their commitment and love and obviously prepare them for their future together. Don't miss it. Sophie Eastlake is a genius when it comes to narrating all of the wonderfully developed characters. It's a fun and very strong book.
'Sentinel, Be Still'.... Yes, Liege, Anytime....
Would you consider the audio edition of Dark Debt to be better than the print version?
I am on the fence about that. This is my first listen to the audio of this series. Emmm, I think I would have preferred a better actor for Ethan. He is so debonair, and sexy. That voice did not do him justice. In any case tht did not take away for my love for this series. I love it. It is chuckful of action.
What other book might you compare Dark Debt to and why?
Maybe Jeannine Frost 'Night Huntress' series. Yeah another Cat and Bones is welcomed.
Have you listened to any of Sophie Eastlakes other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this is my first listen to the actor.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The sex scenes between Ethan and Merit, and also when they were in an accident.
FANTASTIC. WELL WRITTEN AND NARRATED AS ALWAYS
Still going strong. Chloe Niell is in my top favourite paranormal writers. I love how Ethan and Merrit work together. Their love for each other is so wonderful. I am looking forward to the next book which I hope will come out soon. Sophie as usual performed the character very well.
    A- rating overall
    My Review:
    Overall: 4.25
    Performance: 4.5
    Story: 4.25
One character made this story...Balthazar...wow, talk about a great and really, really creepy bad guy. It made for a great and really suspense-filled read. I was on pins and needles almost all the way through the entire story, not knowing what might happen next.
As always, this is another great installment to the series. I love how the author has threaded all the various story lines through the stories and we're finally getting some closure on some of those...Mallory and Catcher...LOVE them. There were also some really poignant moments between Morgan and Merit. I feel bad for the guy. He's definitely had a raw deal all the way around...even though he can be a jerk at moments.
And then there's Ethan and Merit. I felt like their love was tested more in this book...which again helped in all that suspense.
