    Wonderful
Great story with a lovely romance and sensuous lovemaking. The narrator was extraordinary. I loved the adventure and the humor.
    Cute Story
Some unusual and entertaining plotting for an historical, and I always love it when authors throw a little American chaos into tidy English aristocracy.
I actually didn't realize this was book 3 of this family's tale; I went ahead and bought #2 to go properly backwards.
    What a fun romp!
Would you listen to The Scoundrel and the Debutante again? Why?
Absolutely! I loved that both lead characters are delightful characters developed in a most heartening story. Neither is ever a total jerk or a shrew...very refreshing.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Scoundrel and the Debutante?
I knew that when Prudence nailed her target, the she was a force to be reckoned with.
What does Rosalyn Landor bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
    Her voice is amazing...so believable!
Love the Cabot sisters and love Julia London!
Great continuation of the Cabot sisters stories. Nice job on the narration. A great read!!!
    Story did not engage me
I had a hard time getting through this book even though Rosalyn Landor is a great narrator. I'm not sure why, but I almost didn't finish. The characters just did not engage my interest.

    Love is needed
Fiery Bride (Matchmaker & Co. #3)
    By: Cynthia Woolf
    4/5 stars
Margaret Selby, the owner of Matchmaker & Co., has been a successful mail order bride business owner. She has kept up a personal correspondence with client, Caleb Black in the Colorado Territory, because she thinks she likes him, but also because he has refused and sent back every bride that she has sent to him.
As she is sending out the next bride, Caleb demands that she come on the train trip as well. At first, she doesnât plan to, but then ends up having to go. Part way to Denver, the young girl elopes with a young man she met on the train & has fallen in love with. Now Maggie will have to arrive in Denver, without a bride, and explain this to Caleb.
When she does arrive, Caleb has no problem that she is alone and wants her to become his bride. But Maggie has absolutely no intentions of ever marrying again, after the disaster that was her first marriage. But in the meantime, Caleb has decided that he either wants his money back or Maggie for his wife. In the meantime, Maggie is working off her debt by doing the household work and chores that a wife would do.
Caleb & Maggie work well together, and Caleb never stops trying to get her to change her mind about marrying him and Maggie is bound and determined to not enter into another loveless marriage. But can either of them be successful when they like each other so much and spend so much time working like a married couple?
One thing that was hard to discern during this book, is the time frame. It jumps ahead quite a bit at a time.
    Fiery Bride
It was an interesting story. Mail order brides back in earlier days before Internet Match.com to find someone to love, were actually quite similar. Maggie, who ran the business, did back ground checks and only wanted kind reputable hardworking men for her girls that were seeking to find husbands. Some lied and we're horribly surprised and disappointed when they met and some ended up marrying. This story was exciting in parts, but also quite predictable in others. That's why I gave it only 3 stars.
    Good Story
Caleb and Maggie story was great. I like that there was a couple side stories. There wasn't a villain in this story. The only part that needed more work was Caleb part about he can't love.

Fantastic plot, not so great performance
The storyline of this book is great, especially towards the end: gripping! However, about half the book is from a male perspective. I think that they should have had a male narrate that portion since it was such an extensive portion of the book and the female narrator did not do a great job impersonating male characters. Also, the female characters in this book are strong and regal. The narrator made them sound ditzy. My opinion is to read the book rather than listen as the audible does not do it justice.
    Too Long. Dragged
Long complicated story. Actual history interesting but trying to weave multiple characters into years of Roman history and all their stories back and forth sometimes got confusing Characters like Vix seemed muddled. Hero? OK tough soldier but unable to manage personal relations. Just does what he's told. Limited conscience. Was indifferent to most characters. For me, the only interesting one was Haradian with all mental/emotional issues. I'm a history buff and just reading history books about him is more interesting than this book.

Characters actually say what they mean!
What made the experience of listening to Catch a Falling Heiress the most enjoyable?
I cannot even count the number of books that have frustrated me beyond belief with conflicts that could be resolved so easily if the characters just had a straight up conversation about what they feel and their motivations. Yes, sometimes a little angst is pretty awesome, but not the kind of angst that's caused by the characters being morons. The characters in this book don't do that! I have never, ever read a character that talks as honestly as the hero. And it actually AVOIDS and RESOLVES the conflict!! Yet, there is plenty going on aside from communication between H/h that held my interest through the entire novel. It was soo fabulous to not have to feel like banging my head against a wall or throwing my Kindle across the room.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jack, because he doesn't beat around the bush when he's explaining himself. He's real, yo.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were a few moments where I was laughing, it was a fun book. I especially loved the setups Jack put the other admirers through.
    Any additional comments?
This is the first novel I've read from this author, I'll definitely be reading more! Susan Ericksen was amazing as always, I love her narrations so much. Overall, a fun, interesting, and fulfilling story.
    Just OK
There was way too much conversation in this story. i struggled to finish the story
    Ugh!
    Any additional comments?
This wasn't a romance, it was one long mind f*ck. The heroine kept throwing her money and her whiny attitude at the hero so often, and so much that it was a chore just to finish the damn book.
    Loved it!!!
I wish the story would have had an Epilogue so we knew a year afterward as we did with Edie and Stuart. sigh.... Even so, it was a great story.
The ending good have been better
It met my expectations about 90% I though the book could of had a more exciting ending.
    It was lannet strong will
Narrator was great she did a very exciting job in narrating the book

    wonderful romantic.
I loved it. it was endearing. heartfelt and romantic. this story had me in tears
    Same old same old
First there are too many expletives with God in it that is not usual in Christian books. Second, the girl is too helpless and unbelievable. 3rd, th sheriff would not let a woman hang on to him like that or kiss her hand. 4th the ending was exactly what I expected. Yawn
    The Christmas Mail order Bride
I could not believe this was sold on a reputable site. You truly cannot judge a book by its cover. Thought it was historical fiction ,and it was a romance novel and a poor one at that.
    great book
Was a great book to listen too. can't wait hear the next books. had me wanting to never stop listening

    Remarkable!
With the pairing of author and narrator, this book comes alive. Since I cannot tell the ending, I simply say that it is riveting. Wonderful to hear such compelling words. And this is not my first reading. This story is one that you can save and listen to, over and over. Well done, Audible.
    A little too odd
Really excellent narration but very off-the-wall story. Not at all what I expected and I had a really hard time getting a hold of this book.
Seems Like Laura Kinsale Had A Bad Day.
For those of you who read my reviews - you know I love Laura Kinsale's Books. Whenever one of her books comes to Audible I have to listen. I was anticipating her usual greatness for this book but I have to agree with Cam and say its not my cup of tea either.
It wasn't a total loss though. I'm convinced that LK,, even in her worst day, couldn't ever write a total dud. This book did have a good character development, story, mystery, and Nicholas Boulton narrating. I've always said he could make an okay book even better and this is proof.
If this one goes on sale give it a try. My advise for now: Listen to LK's other books and enjoy!
I hate to say this, but NOT one of her best!!!
I LOVE LK so this is extra painful to admit. This supernatural story was out there. Weird and uncomfortable and yet very imaginative. I like supernatural except in this story it really did not work for me although LK did a fabulous job dragging me into her thoughts to the point I could imagine being there even at that strange dance in the ruins of his family home. I found the ending a bit abrupt too when I would have liked to know a little more beyond where the story stopped. I don't know how to explain it except that I felt weird reading this book. When I saw the 3's for the first 10 or so reader ratings, I thought they must be mad. How can that be for a LK book? Then I began reading it and for the first third I thought the book was great until it wasn't. For a Lady to live like nomads and work that hard to rebuild his family home lost to fire when they had so much money to hire an army was ridiculous. SAD to say but I really will never re-read this book. Not my cup of tea at all.
NB was however AMAZING as usual.

    Publisher's Summary:
Sensible gentleman of means seeks a sensible lady of good breeding for correspondence, and in due consideration, matrimony.
Which is exactly the sort of advertisement that makes practical-to-a-fault Daphne Dale's heart flutter. A sensible gentleman, in her estimation, is the perfect match, and she's even more convinced once she's exchanging sensibly romantic letters with her very appropriate suitor. That is, until Lord Henry Seldon strays into her path. He's everything she's vowed to avoid - a rakish charmer whose very touch seduces her practical sensibilities and her resolve.
Lord Henry Seldon was not amused when his nephew placed an advertisement to find him a wife. Yet he couldn't resist replying to the note from "Miss Spooner". And once he discovers he's corresponding with none other than the disarming Daphne Dale, he finds it's too late to disavow his heart. Now it is up to Henry to prove to Daphne just how insensible - and powerfully passionate - true love can be...
    Members Reviews:
    Really fun story.
This is a really fun story. I really liked the Hero, Lord Henry and Heroine, Miss Daphne Dale. They made a great "match" wonderful chemistry between the two, A couple nicely written sex scenes. Daphne was a smart, witty, strong heroine, not a simpering whiny chit. Lord Henry a strong, handsome, smart, witty, wealthy second son\uncle to the Duke of Preston from the first book.
I enjoyed the story line and the plot, there was a lot of dialogue, throughout the book which was great. I really enjoyed a many of the secondary characters as well. Some funny moments in this book.
I have already started the third book in this series and am already enjoying it.
As for the narration. Its okay, its Susan Duerden who narrates with that sing song drawn out consonants at the end of her sentences. Really wish she would stop doing that. But she is tolerable, much better than some, ie Anne Flosnik who will ruin a book and I cannot listen to anything she narrates.
    Ok
What a waste of a very funny book. I couldn't hang. The narrator was absolutely awful and she RUINED this hilarious book.
    An enjoyable book
This was a cute story. I like the correspondence aspect and I would have really liked to read more of the back and forth between the two of them and how they became closer to each other through their letters. I like this series as cute, easy to listen to books.
    Tedious
This book has no plot, and the main protagonists are completely witless. Just when you think something may happen, the already plodding storyline grinds to almost a complete stop.

Great ending to a fantastic series. A must read.
Romance at its best. A great romance has strong characters and a solid plot and setting. This story rocks. This is the last book in The Glorious Companions Quartet and I must say I am so sad the story is ending.
Epic tale that will keep you glued to the pages. I loved every word of it. I read some of the other reviews and I think they are upset like I am that the story ended. Great series. Worthy of 10 stars if I could give it.
No spoilers but I loved Sammael. Well written character that you could really see the struggle in his pull between good and evil. Highly recommended series!
    Awaken the Passion
I reviewed another book in this series and I'll reiterate. Romance, action and a twist on the angelic presence during the days before the great flood, make for an interesting read. Kept me up late. Great idea.
Great last book to a set
Oh I so love this set. I got into it and just couldn't stop. I was so sad to see it end.
    Good story line
I was looking forward to reading the following books of Summer Lee, but although there is a good story line, I was a little disappointed.
Not as good as the first three in series
I really liked the first three books in this series but book 4 almost feels like it was written by someone who didn't read the book before it. In the previous version one of the characters was married and in this version the same woman was a spinster living alone. The mother was also portrayed with totally different feelings about the men in her life as she was in the previous book. The look backs to her past changed the events from the book before. I honestly was looking forward to reading this and was rather disappointed. Though the writing was very good, the character development was not as good as the first three books.

    I love Scottish Highlanders
Well worth the money. Hannah Howell is one of my favorite authors her stories are always interesting. This isn't my favorite book but it is definitely a good one.
    Great series
I know this is the second to last book in this series so far but really hope they are more to come because the Murray, McFingal, Campbell, Drummond, etc families have grown so much that we can add more upon more upon more stories. Really liked this one, but also wanted to pummel the hero for this stupidity and was horrified to think he was willing to make love to Arianna but let her go to a "man worthy of her". Some men are so damn stupid it's ridiculous. Oh well on to book 19.........
    Love the Highlanders
I enjoy the Highland books and this book did not disappoint. I had a couple of small issues with the book, however. I felt the author did a little overkill on describing Ariana's marriage. My other issue is with the narrator, Angela Dawe. I try to avoid any book that has her as a narrator. When she is not speaking for one of the characters there just is no inflection in her voice. I have my favorites and she is not one of them.
I WANT MORE MORE MORE MURRAYS!!!
I love each and every one of these stories. I can't wait for the next one...thank God there are several more Murray Men! Keep them coming. Angela Dawe is just wonderful with the narration of these stories. Is the next one ready yet?? hahaha
    Highland Avenger
I enjoyed listening toy first audio book of Hannah Howell's The Murray's series. I will now start listening from book one on.
