  • The Lasting Impact of Your Story

I had the opportunity to have an open brutally honest chat with keynote speaker and author of BARE Francisco Mahfuz. Today he's an author, requested public speaker, podcast host, husband, and father. We took a deep dive down memory lane to find out what people and places shaped him, but more importantly the formation of his outgoing and uninhibited style of communication. From some of the facets of Brazilian culture to the keen self-awareness of who we was as a young man, we get a great picture into his story and his WHY. This episode will have a little of everything for those who struggle with fear of sharing, to the bold who may overshare in a manner which misses their target audience.  He will share some actionable items of how to maximize and leverage your story.  Listeners will be both entertained and challenged by Francisco's candor and authentic communication.

In this interview on Listen Then Speak, which is a little over 30 minutes you'll learn:

    • His interest in stories and desire to tell them
    • Insights on marketing and sales (from a personal standpoint)
    • What your story can do for your audience
    • Developing learning tools that lead to actionable items in an affective manner
    • The benefit of vulnerability through telling your story
    • The importance of journalling during the journey
    • How exposing shaming things can strip them of their power

  • Gender Equality (For Who???)

I had the opportunity to have an open and honest chat with CEO of CEPHR and HR Culture Transformer Tiffany Castagno.  She's been a top professional in the HR space for many years, so I had to get into her "Why".  However, as we took a trip down memory lane to highlight her amazing gifts and talents, we also had to broach a topic that is in need of critical attention.  There have been many strides made in the space of gender equality, but too often, we don't see brown, black, and yellow women as beneficiaries of these advancements.  I certainly desire to see equality for all, but all means ALL, so we GET INTO IT and take a deeper dive to find out what are some of the things that are hindering all women when it comes to gender equality.  Listeners will be both motivated and challenged by Tiffany's honesty and vulnerability.

In this interview on Listen Then Speak, which is about 30 minutes you'll learn:

    • What it means to be inclusive of others in the workspace
    • Why are women of color not benefitting from the new wave of gender equality
    • The effects of implicit bias
    • What are good processes to drive equality for all women in the workplace
    • Ways to drive diversity without exploiting people of color
    • The Reason why "Disrupters" are so important to workplace culture
    • Instead of (bandaids) lets budget and be proactive in diversity, inclusion and gender equality
    • Why doing and engagement surveys without response is dangerous
    • The effect of implicit bias on mental health
    • Ways each of us can use our place of privilege and influence for the good of others
