    LOVED IT!
I purchased 3 copies for friends and family. All the kids have loved reading this book. WHAT a great idea to have children help with the illustrations! This is now a favorite in my house!
5 STARS forthe Tommorrow Series "Who do you want to be?"
Wonderful children's book. I have 3 grandson's that are receiving the book for Christmas."Who do you want to be" will stimulate young minds and help them fulfill their dreams about growing up. The art work is done by the average kid's next door not in an art studio, which children should connect to. 5 STARS to M. L. Hardy
My 6 year old loved it!
My 6 year old loved it - she got to read it to me and then discuss each profession. Got her to think about what she wanted to do - and stimulated some great discussions. Her answer: a Peterinarian... Thanks for the priceless conversation.
    Beautiful
What a well thought out developmental book for children to get them to think through actions and descriptions of people and their jobs. Loved that the pictures were drawn out by children!! Giving this to my niece for Christmas.

A charming story of Rocky the dog as he changes from a rough guard dog to a kind and loyal friend. This heartwarming book teaches about bullying while being deceptively entertaining.

    Lessons In Becoming A Friend
Bullies, we have all met them, tried to deal with them in our own way. We want to be able to help educate our children in the way of bullies and how to deal with them. The author, Mike Hansen, has given us an excellent resource with his new book, 'Rocky At The Farm'.
Rocky was brought up as a guard dog. He lived in a big warehouse all on his own, and he was told he needed to e fierce. Since Rocky did not know any better that is how he behaved. He was taught to be gruff and mean. One day the warehouse was destroyed, and Rocky was brought by the owner to the country. He was once again left alone. He did not know what to do or how to act, but he was hungry and went looking for food. He was picked up by a kind farmer, and this is the rest of Rocky's story.
I do have some concern that the story of someone leaving a dog alone in the country would scare some children, so this story needs to be told and discussed with some delicacy. This is a story that will elicit a lot of discussion for children and their parents. This is a wonderful story with lessons learned. The author has taken a difficult subject, and turned it into a story that ends well. The writing is geared towards children, and it is mixed in with a delightful story of a mix of animals coming together. The illustrations are colorful and vivid and depict the storyline in pictures. Rocky us a dog on a mission, I hope he has other adventures to follow.
    Recommended. prisrob 01-10-14
    Great story with good illustrations
This story is suitable for older children who will be able to understand message of the story: the value of being nice to others. There is also a secondary message from the behaviour of the different people in the book. We can feel sorry for the faithful dog which was abandoned in the countryside and left to fend for itself.
In the story the animals act both like animals and like people, but if we can't suspend our sense of disbelief as a child, when can we do it?
My one criticism of the story was that the fixed format made the writing too small for children who are still having some trouble reading.
A Wonderful Book to Teach Children about Bullying!
Rocky at the Farm is a cute story about a dog who is a bully. He doesn't know how to make friends or behave as a good dog should. He is a guard dog and guard dogs are supposed to be mean or so Rocky thinks. One day he is no longer needed as a guard dog and must make his way on his own when he is abandoned. Rocky learns a valuable lesson about bullying when he is rescued by a passing farmer who brings him back to his farm.
This is a wonderful book to teach children about bullying and why it is not acceptable. Also, children will learn the importance of friendship. The illustrations are well done and colorful and will keep children engaged.
    Cute and uplifting story
This book is very cute and I would recommend it for your children. Because of the length and the subject matter, it is more appropriate for kindergarten/1st graders. My son, who is 3, was very entralled with the illustrations and anything that involves animals and balls is sure to please.

But don't be surprised if the goat doesn't take it lying down. In this hilarious, rhyme-happy picture book, children will love to pore over the funny illustrations, picking up clues that all is not as it seems between Jimmy Choat and the goat, Petunia P. Oat. Because Petunia knows who's really to blame, and before long the whole family will too!

    Love this book.
This is one of my all time favorite books. Itâs hilarious and teaches a great lesson.
    Excellent story, good message
If there were more than five stars, I would give this book more stars. Excellent story, good message, and told in an adorable rhyme that was popular for all of my students, grades K-4. I used it in a lesson about honesty in my counseling lessons and it was a huge hit. It kept even the most squirrelly group engaged. The illustrations are adorable, the writing is delightful, and it has a surprising end. Love, love LOVE this book!
    Five Stars
    Book in good condition!
    SO CREATIVE
I think this book is a must-have in any children's library. Not only does it help little readers with the repeated "oa" sound, it has such fun rhymes throughout, but it also is SO well written. The illustrations are perfect and will make any age want to read it. I LOVE reading it to my 6-year-old (as I am just as entertained as he is) and my 9, 11, and 13 year old keep taking it to read themselves! BUY IT!
16 month old loves this book
We bought this book because we liked another with the same illustrator. My daughter now says "goat" when she wants to read it. She can pick out other words she knows in the pictures which makes reading the story so fun. It is silly, rhyming, and we love it.

    Excellent book, not good presentation
Although the book is very nice, the message is sweet and clear and the illustration appealing, the format in the kindle version is not very friendly since you cannot see the whole page as in a book. .
    Great
Great book to read for every age group for everyone in family. I haven't read this since I was a kid and still think it great
A book filled with outloud chuckles!
I have an almost three year old and we found this story at the library and she LOVES it! Our daily storytimes are wonderful and only two days after getting the book, she can predict which animal is next and loves to repeat Nurse Beluga's phrase, "This is a hospital, not a zoo!" Its a great story for adventure and whimsy, even if you do not have a child in the hospital to worry about.
    Hospital silliness for your kids
A simply wonderful book. Being in a hospital is tough for a child. This book puts a wonderful twist on hospital stays. A well written, wonderfully illustrated book. Highly recommended.
