Great imagination! Perfect book for Picky eaters
This book is absolutely hilarious! It breaks down into 5 easy chapters. Level 2/3 Reader. My boys, ages 5 and 7 LOVE this book! My youngest happens to be a very picky eater, so we thought this book might enlighten us. Josh Schneider does a great job of feeding into their imaginations. James (the little boy in the book), doesn't like certain foods. The first chapter is about broccoli. James' dad gives him other options which feed into the imagination...........quality mashed dirt by the finest French chefs and the best earthworms............gum chewed 1000 times by kids that have to brush with 3 special brushes ahead of time.............a sweaty sock work by a marathon runner that only ate apple and cinnamon for 3 months. This book is so creative! They also LOVE the tale of the LUMPY OATMEAL. It's a growing oatmeal that never stops growing. This book is very imaginative. He also has some other great books out there............BEDTIME MONSTERS......YOU'LL BE SORRY. If you have a picky eater, this is a great book for you.
    A Lot of Fun
I have a 5 year old grandson who is a picky eater. I don't think this book will change his eating habits, but it made him laugh and think. This book is best read aloud by someone that can be as facetious as the Dad. My kids got it and the next day were able to discuss the troll that makes the smelly lasagna who used to work at the rat circus. This will make for many a great read.
    Good book, poor title
I liked it, but my daughter and granddaughter reacted to the title negatively - "I'm not a picky eater". Immediate resistance.
    Fun book for picky eaters
My 7-year-old daughter is a picky eater, so I got this book for her hoping it would help her laugh at how silly pickiness is at times. I am a semi-picky eater myself, so I do understand that not everyone likes every food, but the father in this book came up with some really fun and creative ways to show his son what being picky can be like. Quite an enjoyable read and the pictures really help tell the story, too.
    Adorable short stories
Adorable short stories. My picky-eater LOVES this book. It doesn't help him eat any more food but we use the jokes in the book for more fun. :)

I was really disappointed in this book, kids bully the main character telling her âpink soccer balls are for babiesâ and âpink stinksâ for the whole book. Not sure it sends a great message

    Members Reviews:
Narration for this version is horrible.
How could the performance have been better?
He was monotone and drab. No child will ever listen to this. I made it through a few lines of the sample and had to turn it off.
    Any additional comments?
    Amazing book, horrible voice narration.
    Will put you to sleep
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I've heard an audio version of this book that was great, it was a catchy song. However in this particular version the man prnounces every word so slowly that if you try to play it for your child they will probably fall asleep before the end of the secound page, maybe the first sentance if they're actually tired to begin with
What did you like best about this story?
I LOVE the story, I bought the adio to go along with the book that I already had. I like the teamwork.
    Not the song!!
Would you try another book from Erica Silverman and/or John McDonough?
Big Pumpkin is one of my favorite Halloween Books of all time, but not this version!
What didnt you like about John McDonoughs performance?
A cure for insomnia. This book is one of my favorites and I love the flow. This was read word by word, obviously so a child could follow along, but all of the joy of the story was left behind by the slow drone of the narrator's voice.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I am extremely disappointed in this recording of the book. I wish that it was available on Audible in the original format sold by Scholastic books years ago!
Not what I thought I was getting...
I thought this was the fun song version that I love so much. This narrator is okay, but pretty blah compared to the other version. The turn-the-page chime was nice.
    good
wish out was more like the audio that came with the book and was more musical

Cam Jansen and her photographic memory help her friend's grandfather retrieve his missing bag with an important graduation gift in it.
    Members Reviews:
    Great gidfts for granddaughters
My grandddaughters (5 of them) love this series as started chapter books. They just keep passing them down from one to another. Best price for new books though half-price books sometimes has them even cheaper but they are used.
    Graduation Day Mystery
In the 31st book of the Cam Jansen Mystery Series, Cam accompanies her friend Eric to his father's college graduation ceremony. All is going well until Grandpa Shelton loses the small paper bag with his camera - and the irreplaceable graduation gift he brought for his son - inside! Can Cam and Eric use their super detective skills to track down the bag and the gift? Enjoy this quick read and find out!
I have never read any of the Cam Jansen Mysteries but was quickly brought to speed on Cam's special gift of photographic memory and her ability to use it to solve mysteries. I wish the author had built more suspense by not revealing the gift Grandpa brought Mr. Shelton until the end, but 1st Grade readers (ages 7 and up) will enjoy this light, easy read none the less!
One of the worst Cam Jansen series
Disappointing compared to the other 2 Cam Jansen that I read. There are not much room for reader to follow trails and clues and try to solve the mystery with Cam Jansen.
