Title: The True Story of the Three Little Pigs
    Author: Jon Scieszka
    Narrator: Paul Giamatti
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 7 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-21-11
    Publisher: Weston Woods Studios
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 47 votes
    Genres: Kids, Ages 5-7
    Publisher's Summary:
The classic story told from the wolf's point of view.
    Members Reviews:
I liked that he used different voices.
when I read to my daughter I always use different voices. This was pretty entertaining
    The funniest true story!
Loved it! Great, funny, enjoyable story. A whole new spin on the same old story.
This isn't the original drama attached to the book
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would release the original broadcast. The readings were superb and it was hilarious,
What was one of the most memorable moments of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs?
His take on the story, the neighbors and newspaper/tv journalists weighing it-too precious! Sad it gone! This is a great fractured Fairytale for kids!
What aspect of Paul Giamattis performance would you have changed?
    Okay, not great.
Did The True Story of the Three Little Pigs inspire you to do anything?
If you enjoy this as my children really did, then go on to Patricia Wrede's YA Fantasy novel called Calling On Dragons. Fractured Fairytale writing at its best!
    Any additional comments?
If you, like me, are busy looking for the original-then don't bother! But now you know, you can buy it just to hear the story. Amazon does have them, but they are over $22 for the cassette! Still eBay and Amazon are always open!
    I love this story!
What made the experience of listening to The True Story of the Three Little Pigs the most enjoyable?
    It was funny and witty
Who was your favorite character and why?
    The wolf of course.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    I was Framed
    Any additional comments?
It's an all time favorite of mine
    He was framed!
Would you listen to The True Story of the Three Little Pigs again? Why?
Yes, and will listen to it often. I first found this book during a book drive thing our school did when I was a kid. Its only seven minutes and done amazingly well by famed actor Paul Giamatti. As a kid, i loved this book, and now all grown up it still makes me giggle. I will keep returning to this, and since its so short I may just take out my earbuds and get others to listen to. Its just that kinda story I'm sure will at least make you giggle in a couple parts.
Which character as performed by Paul Giamatti was your favorite?
    The "big,bad" Wolf, definitely.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed out a few times. And I'm still craving a cheeseburger (that will make sense after you listen to it, and since its only 7 minutes or so, that shouldn't take long.)
    Any additional comments?
If your a child, or child at heart, you should know the story of the three little pigs. And BOTH sides of the story should be told. My only complain is your paying about a dollar a minute, but since it has music, and Paul brings his best to the mic, it's still debatable if it should be cheaper or if the price is right. Either way, I think its really worth a listen. And anyone who is disappointed believes the three little pigs' side anyway!

Doesn't seem to work well as an audiobook.
In our homeschool studies, we read Benjamin Franklin by D'aulaire. Then we saw this book on Audible and thought it would be a great thing to listen to, in addition to that book.
It's not an compelling listen - jumps quickly between details without seeming to build the story in an inviting way. Detail heavy. Sounds like someone is reading a kids textbook, rather than a storybook. I wouldn't call this a living book.
I imagine it would be a good physical book to read with illustrations and at your own pace. It doesn't seem to work well as an audiobook.

A Great Way to Count to 100 by Means of a Story.
Would you consider the audio edition of Emily's First 100 Days Of School to be better than the print version?
The audio version of this book is just as good as the print version. Try also looking for the video version of this book at your library. The video adaptation has extra monologue not heard in the audiobook version.
What other book might you compare Emily's First 100 Days Of School to and why?
I also recommend with this book "Otto Runs for President" because both titles are by the same author, Rosemary Wells.
Have you listened to any of Diana Canovas other performances before? How does this one compare?
I also heard Diana Canova narrate "Otto Runs for President". She does an excellent job at reading Rosemary Wells' books.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
There is already a video version of the book. I knew I'd find the story of "Emily's First 100 Days of School" brought to life somehow.
    Any additional comments?
"Emily's First 100 Days of School" is a great book I know anyone can "count" on.

    Where are the pictures?
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would not recommend this book to a nonreading child. If the hard copy has pictures, the audible book should have them as well. We were only able to see the title page or book cover (whichever the case may be) and it disappointed all three of my grandchildren, the oldest of which is six years old.
Who was your favorite character and why?
    I cannot answer that.
How could the performance have been better?
Pictures need to accompany the audible.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was frustrated because my grandchildren were frustrated.
    Any additional comments?
Get with the program and make this work. I could have read it myself. I feel like we were shortchanged.

    A great first chapter book.
I bought this for my 6 year old grandson for his first chapter book. He really enjoyed it and now is continuing to read more of the Flat Stanley series. It was important to me to pick a good book for his first book. Up to this point he was only reading what he had to at school and for homework, I really wanted him to like reading so he wasn't playing games on his kindle all the time. This book did the trick!
Marley is always a good pick!
Our kids love all the Marley books. This is just as cute as all the other ones. Our children read this at the ages of 5 & 6. Could be for any age really but our two really loved it!
Every 6 year old child would like this book
Daughter loved it. It was in perfect shape.

The Butterfly Lion is one of my favourite story's . It is a very uplifting story about a young boy named Bertie. Bertie saw a white lion but when he went to tell his family nobody believed him but he kept believing in himself. Great Reading for my 1st Grader!
My son has built a lot of confidence reading Nate the Great books. He knows all the characters and their traits after reading about 12 from the series. We bought this particular one for his homeschool group book club. He chose this as the book he wanted to review. My only dislike of the series is there are sometimes fragments used which with him learning grammar at the same time confused him a bit. Amazon's quick delivery was also very helpful!
    Great series for beginner readers
I bought this for my 7 year old who has been struggling with reading. Nothing like a boy detective who loves eating pancakes (even cold ones!) to help him solve the case to get the young reader interested. This book is well-written and it is not just Nate but his two friends (female) who often show up. Nate always leaves a note for his Mom so she knows where he is!
    Fun book
Fun books for beginning readers. Currently we have a 3rd grader that is reading and a pre-school student that loves to listen
Was funny to read this book with my 8 year old daughter.
The book is funny and interesting, me and my daughter enjoy very well. I do recommended if you want to spend a good time reading with your kids
