Kin and Jases story...

This third audiobook in this series focused not on Lucy and Harris, as in the first two books, but on her best friend Kin and the man who broke her heart Jase. I enjoyed the story, but I was a little put off by the fact that book 2 stopped in a cliffhanger that doesnt get resolved until boom 4. Otherwise it was a good story and narration was well done.

wowza what a story

This story is exactly what I wanted. It kept me wanting to hear more even when I had other things to do. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Hurray for Audio book Edition!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Other Side of Envy to be better than the print version?

I would only because the audio edition allows me to get lost in the story if the narrator is any good, which this one was

her emotions were conveyed perfectly in this book. I could really "feel" what Sang felt because she did so well.

I own both audio and ebook edition of this book and while the ebook edition was awesome the audio edition I liked better.

different twist on a chick flick

It was a cute concept for a book, girl finds boys phone and text away. I thought the story was adorable and was well rounded. My only issue was that the story moved a bit fast near the end. I felt there could be a "tad" more character development. But over all it was great. The performance really made it worth while! :)

Thank you John, this was such a deep portrayal of mental illness, so viceral, that it made me nauseous, tearful and overjoyed all within this one story. It wasnt always enjoyable, but then mental illness isnt. The emotions are real, the struggle is real. DFTBA

Neurotic Teenagers Get Up to Not Much

This book just make me glad I was no longer a teenager. Leading lady (if you can call it that) is a self absorbed hypochondriac, and we have to listen to her agonise for 24 chapters about possibly getting a disease from a rich boy she kissed. Guess I picked the wrong genre here...

Unnecessary to the Series

Let's start with the positive. The narrator is excellent!

Unfortunately, the story was disappointing and unnecessary. The plot was thin. The storyline was boring. Its also a bit preachy, which I wasnt in the mood for. I don't mind when books have lessons or make a good point, but I hate that feeling like it is forced upon me...like the author is hitting me over the head with it. When that happens, it disrupts the story more than it helps or makes a point.

I gave this 3 stars, because I still love the characters and setting (and typically love everything Rae Carson). In reality, its more of a 2.5.

Unfortunately, this lacks intrigue, action, emotional resonance, and a satisfying conclusion. There's a happy ending. I just didn't enjoy it. In fact, by that point, I didn't even care anymore.

The longer you read, the more tedious and cliché the story becomes. The displays of power are lackluster. Most of those questions Ive been carrying with me since book one remain unanswered, which is both disappointing and a missed opportunity. Any answers you do get are vague and along the lines of -because it just is what it is, grasshopper.

I honestly cant really understand why this book was necessary, other than it was part of the publishing contract. It definitely did not grow the series or contribute positively towards it. Almost everything I loved about the previous books was missing in this addition.

If you really like period pieces and/or happy endings, enough to overlook things like plot and character development, then youll probably still enjoy this. It just wasnt enough for me. My overall impression of this story is meh.

And I'm pretty sad about that.

Perfect Conclusion!

I have loved this series way more than I thought I would. This trilogy has been a great listening experience!

The characters were amazing as always, but it was the plot that kept me guessing.

Glad to read more about the Guardian Angels from Midway. In GUARDING EDEN, Alex finds himself on assignment watching over a girl in a private highschool who had a run-in with a darkling. Amazing YA m-m book

Autobiography by Christina Lauren is not normally a book I would pick up. But I was sent this absolutely gorgeous hardcover, and I try to read the books that are going on my shelf. I realize now that I never even read the blurb, just fell for the cover. I couldnt fit it in my reading schedule, but I had a credit on audible so I grabbed it there, not even knowing that it was YA. But being in a bit of a slump, I was looking for something different, and Autobiography totally fit the bill and lived up to the gorgeous cover.

Im just a bisexual half-Jewish kid whos falling in love with an LDS guy. The path for me isnt as clear.

I love Tanner and his family so much. They moved from California to Provo, Utah when Tanner was 15. Tanner is bisexual and half Jewish, and Provo is a predominantly Mormon (LDS) town. His mom is an ex-Mormon and understands how it all works, and both of his parents are very accepting of Tanner.

I forget not everyone lives in a household where a parent sleeps in a MY QUEER KID RULES nightgown.

But they still encourage him to keep his sexuality a secret because in that town, they know he would have problems. He couldnt even share it with his best friend, Autumn. When Tanner takes a writing seminar his senior year, they are expected to write a novel, and the teacher brought in his most prominent student from the previous year to help out, Sebastian Brother. Sebastians book was already published, and he is now a student at a Mormon University. He is following his expected path as a son of a Mormon bishop, and going on his mission as soon as he returns from his book tour. Sebastian loves his religion and is devoted to the church.

When Tanner sees Sebastian in the class, his reaction is all-consuming and immediate. He has no idea if Sebastian is straight or gay, but there is a spark, an immediate connection.
