Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers.

    YA Romance BRILLANCE!!
I'm a big fan of Kylie Scott's contemporary romances AND I love YA romance so I couldn't wait for the release of Trust. IT WAS EVERYHING I HOPED IT WOULD BE.
The story is a slow burn. Taking time to build the relationship, the TRUST. It included the right amount of everything a YA romance should angst, uncertainty, fear, hope, friendship and letting go of your inhibitions.
Now for the best part...Kylie brings her hot, steamy tasteful adult sex scenes to YA BRILLANTLY! She has written the most realistic and honest "first time" scene I have EVER experienced in a YA book. I have been waiting a long time to see this done right and Kylie nails it (no pun intended)! And the shower scene is...well...all I can say is WOW! It hit so many firsts I remember as a YA. All that said, I do recommend this for the slightly older YA 14-15+.
I was a bit surprised that Andi Arndt was narrating this book. I love Andi and Trust was my 6th Andi Arndt narrated book this year. Andi does mostly adult romance so I did have to switch gears a bit and remember I was in a YA book. But as Andi never fails to do, she won me over about mid way through the book with her smooth delivery and with all the right feels in all the right places. There were some production glitches in the first 1/2 of the book but it all cleared up by the second 1/2 half.
HIGH RECOMMEND...Stick with the slow beginning, it is soooo worth it in the end! This is a standalone so no cliffhanger ending, no waiting for the second book.
    THIS WAS A GREAT STORY!!!
    Any additional comments?
This was super great!! I am impressed with the way this story went, and as a YA book from this author...it was fantastic....Edie and John are put through a very traumatic experienced, and it changed both their young lives...both for the better and ultimately brought them together, where they help each other to heal!! I love this!! I want more!! lol
Totally recommend..you will love this too!!!
A different direction for this author; winner!
Sometimes when authors spread their artistic wings, they can lose the audience they worked so hard to build. In this case, however, Kylie Scott still manages to keep you entertained despite the traumatic beginning of this young adult love story.

    Publisher's Summary:
Now that Dimple Shah has graduated, she's ready for a break from her family - especially from Mamma's inexplicable obsession with her finding the Ideal Indian Husband. Ugh. But Dimple knows that her mother must respect that she isn't interested in doing that right now - otherwise she wouldn't have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers, right?
Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic, so when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him - during which he'll have to woo her - he's totally onboard. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself. Although their parents hadn't planned suggesting the arrangement so soon, when their kids signed up for the same summer program, they figured why not?

    Let's say it together...Awe!
    Any additional comments?
The fact that this book would have an HEA was never in dispute. It was just a matter of what the couple went through to get there. I loved how the"obstacles" were real and not just some miscommunication that pulled/kept them apart.
Dimple and Rishi get my vote as the cutest couple of the year. This is the first time in my history of reading fiction that I had hoped for an epilogue. Things were resolved quite satisfactorily but I would have loved a fast forward to what they were doing or their wedding or to how the parents felt about their matchmaking.
The narration Blew. Me. Away. The chapters were told in first person POV and I had to check often to confirm that this was a solo narration effort. It sounded like two people!!! Sneha Mathan just nailed it.
I loved this couple. I loved how they met. I loved how they made each other better. I got the feels.
    Loved this story!
I wanted try a different genre aside from my usual and I do not regret it. This was such a beautiful love story that was educational from a cultral standpoint. The chatacters were very relatable and I hung on to every word.
Takes me to when I was 18
When I bought the book - I read loads of reviews claiming this book is cute, and there were lots of comments about the cultural side of things. I think those are the just backdrop items in the overall story. what I loved about this book was how it took me back to when I was 18, confused about life, unable to articulate my feelings, when heartbreaks felt raw and stung worse than I could imagine, about how I thought I understood the world and my place in it. What I truly enjoyed about this book was going back to that, and relating to that version of myself. And that is what I really enjoyed about this book, the way that it took me back to my thoughts and feelings when I was young and just leaving home for college. If you want to recapture that thought, then buy this book.
    disappointing
The narrators were good though sometimes the man's voice for Dimple was weird and cringey. The story itself was a let down. I was expecting a story about a girl with a passion for coding who pursues this career and invests her time in the competition she so 'desperately' wants to win. Instead I got 400 pages of Dimple slut shaming other girls, criticizing the rich kids for breathing, hitting Rishi, manipulating Rishi, and Dimple being the exact definition of "not like other girls".

    Publisher's Summary:
This charming and bittersweet coming-of-age story featuring two girls of color falling in love is part To All the Boys I've Loved Before and part Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
Sixteen-year-old Sana Kiyohara has too many secrets. Some are small, like how it bothers her when her friends don't invite her to parties. Some are big, like the fact that her father may be having an affair. And then there's the one that she can barely even admit to herself - the one about how she might have a crush on her best friend.
When Sana and her family move to California, she begins to wonder if it's finally time for some honesty, especially after she meets Jamie Ramirez. Jamie is beautiful and smart and unlike anyone Sana's ever known. There are just a few problems: Sana's new friends don't trust Jamie's crowd; Jamie's friends clearly don't want her around anyway; and a sweet guy named Caleb seems to have more-than-friendly feelings for her. Meanwhile, her dad's affair is becoming too obvious to ignore.
Sana always figured that the hardest thing would be to tell people that she wants to date a girl, but as she quickly learns, telling the truth is easy...what comes after it, though, is a whole lot more complicated.

YA contemporary that focused on an important topic
What did you love best about It's Not Like It's a Secret?
Wooooo....wow this book was a lot to unpack. Lots of conversations that need to be had but have never been approached like this before. I think a lot of books about prejudice and ignorance tend to focus on a very black and white lens but this one centered on prejudice in Mexican and Asian communities, which is very unique to California being that both racial groups are the largest minorities. I think the pros of this story was that it made me feel something, and it wasn't always cotton candy and comfort.
What scared me the most about this story is that it reflected my own childhood and teenage years. Sana, the main character's mother, i'm ashamed to admit that she's actually like my grandmother. She's ignorant. She says hateful things about pretty much every ethnic group she doesn't fall under and she doesn't think of anything she says as wrong. She's scared of what she considers different, and unfortunately I found myself relating to Sana for not doing the right thing and challenging her on her ignorance. It's hard to challenge people you love and raised you and make them see your point when they in their heads, feel as though they've never been wrong. I constantly ask myself, why don't people call their families out on their racist thoughts? And then I think back to every situation that's happened and has yet to happen, where I don't correct my family members for saying hurtful things. Sometimes it's just not worth it and you always feel as though you're never going to change their minds.
While I didn't think Sana was a traditionally likable heroine, I did however relate to her. I think what would have made this book a five is if it would have centered more on the f/f relationship and not so much the drama her parents were going through. It was so distracting and all I wanted was a love story.

Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her stepsisters get there first.
Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?
Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

Fresh new take on the Cinderella tale
I'm what you would call an older woman :-), but I always love a good Cinderella spin off. This book was a nice and well done. The storyline was modernized and well written. If you were looking for a light fun read this is it. Regarding the audiobook though, there are a lot of editing errors, such as repeated sentences. But I easily overlooked those as I enjoyed the story so much.
A Charming Cinderella Story, More than Just a Retelling
Poston does a brilliant job of lovingly grafting the odds and ends of contemporary geek culture over the age-old tale of Cinderella. We all know the story, and all the re-imaginings can easily come off as worn and tired. But Poston's retelling, like any good fairy tale told and retold over time, gives us the heartbeat of the time and space from which it springs. The writing is brisk and humorous, and the characters are constructed with care and wit. Stevens and Morris provide solid performances, and their voices serve Poston's narrative brilliantly. I enjoyed it immensely!
Fun Cinderella story & all the things I love about con
This is a fun take on Cinderella. It also has the moments I love about going to a SciFi Con.
It is sweet and fun - but still solidly read.
    I really enjoyed it.
    Bad editing
The story itself is a fun spin on a classic Cinderella story. The editing of the audio book however definitely needs working on. Multiple times there are lines which are repeated for no reason and other bad editing notes.
    Absolutely Loved it!!
Both narrations and the story were perfect. This is the first time I felt so connected to a main character in a story. My favorite part was was not just the texts but when Elle started converting Sage to a Star Gunner and kept Darian updated on the progress. it was one my most favorite scenes after Darian's first stunt scene for the movie and second to the last few scenes when Sage breaks entry into the Country club.

    Publisher's Summary:
The thrilling first book in a YA fantasy trilogy for fans of Red Queen. In a world where social prestige derives from a trifecta of blood, money, and magic, one girl has the ability to break the spell that holds the social order in place.
Sixteen-year-old Anna Arden is barred from society by a defect of blood. Though her family is part of the Luminate, powerful users of magic, she is Barren, unable to perform the simplest spells. Anna would do anything to belong. But her fate takes another course when, after inadvertently breaking her sister's debutante spell - an important chance for a highborn young woman to show her prowess with magic - Anna finds herself exiled to her family's once powerful but now crumbling native Hungary.
Her life might well be over.
In Hungary, Anna discovers that nothing is quite as it seems. Not the people around her, from her aloof cousin Noémi to the fierce and handsome Romani Gábor. Not the society she's known all her life, for discontent with the Luminate is sweeping the land. And not her lack of magic. Isolated from the only world she cares about, Anna still can't seem to stop herself from breaking spells.
As rebellion spreads across the region, Anna's unique ability becomes the catalyst everyone is seeking. In the company of nobles, revolutionaries, and Romani, Anna must choose: deny her unique power and cling to the life she's always wanted or embrace her ability and change that world forever.

    Fantastic debut!
Stunning story telling, world building, magic - this book will let new readers fall in love with Hungary, history, and the multi-layered rebellion crafted around a girl trying to determine what her role is in the world.
    WARNING: May cause book-induced insomnia
Great read! I really couldn't put it down, and stayed up reading/listening a little (or a lot) later than I should have on more than one occasion. I might classify it as a revolutionary period piece of adventurous, romantic, magical, historical-fiction fantasy. Lol. In other words, it combined pretty much everything into one very enjoyable read.
I recommend the audible version as well as the kindle/print versions because the narrator does a great job of pronouncing the words in German and Hungarian. She gives the characters accents too.
I very much look forward to the next book!
Fun fantasy in a unique setting
I loved this. It's a historical YA fantasy, set in a time and place that I don't think we see enough stories from. We see a ton about the Austro-Hungarian empire in Marie Antoinette's day, for obvious reasons, and we see a lot of it just prior to WWI, again for obvious reasons.

    Even better than the first!
Alwyn Hamilton brings even more character development and depth to the heroic Amani. I loved this book even more than the first. Amani was shown as being physically strong and brave in the first book. In Traitor to the Throne Amani must learn from mistakes and overcome great challenges using her wits. Through her trials she starts to reveal her great leadership qualities she lacked in the beginning.
    Highly recommend to everyone.
Different From Book One But Still Interesting
Book two clearly set things up for a lot to happen in book three, but sometimes it pulled me in so many directions, with so few solutions, that it began to feel a bit overwhelming. The strange thing is that less happens in this book than I expected, especially considering it has 518 pages.
Actually, things happens, but there is less overall forward motion that I expected when starting this book. Compared to book one, this has a much slower pace and fewer action scenes. That doesnt mean I didnt enjoy the story, but it didnt captivate me the way book one did.
I do love Amani. Shes a unique character, with a fascinating voice. I would probably read about her going to Walmart, paying bills, and walking the dog, so this worked out for me. I had a bit of trouble juggling all the side characters and keeping them all straight in the first half of the book, but that could also be partly might fault.
I should have reread book one before continuing on. Since I read it very close to its release date, a lot of time passed before I got my hands on book two. If youre debating what to do, I highly recommend that you reread book one. You can get by without doing so, but I struggled throughout the story to remember what happened in the first book. Plus the first book is really good, so its not going to be painful for people to reread it. I wish I had done that.
The performance is fantastic. A+ to the narrator.
    Riviting Series
I can't wait for the next chapter. Next one will be on my must read list.
    A thousand stars!!
Loved this book, truly captivating story and cannot wait until the next one is released!

Eye rolling over the top drama got old.....
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
    *spoiler alert*
Had to give this up about 1/3 of the way in. I like this author, enjoyed her Compass series, and the first book of this series was pretty good, but I just got fed up with the heroine when she turns away her all powerful fated mate because she felt "betrayed" (sob!) and she doesnt want him to "get hurt or killed" on her heroic journey to save the world. Seriously?
There is another habit of the this writer that I have found frustrating in all of her books is that the characters take time outs in the middle of suspenseful scenes to have long inner dialogues or stupid conversations, all the while you are waiting for the scene to unfold, the bad guy to show up. Sigh.....
Has Spurn turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, but definitely by this author
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
She tends to over-emphasize at the end of sentences and phrases. Does not have a natural flow. Liked the first narrator in the Compass series.
Can't wait for #3 to be released on audio!
Love all things Jaymin's and this series is no different. Narrator is excellent, really enjoyed listening to her performance. Definitely recommend this series and author!!
    I love this series
the narration gets better with time. bot sure if it's just me switching through so many books but I really enjoyed it after the first few chapters.
the character are fun to get to know. They feel like people you could actually meet. except one and I hope she develops more after her heartache, or at least that her character is only that way because of her heartache.
can't wait to finish the next book so I can see what happens. I would definitely recommend this book.
    Great story!
First book was slow & rough to get through but this second book of the saga was a lot better. Ends on a crazy note.. I need to find out what happens!? Downloading third book now! Narration, very good. She does well with male voices and accents! Some books can be great stories but narration just blows the whole book for me.

seriously addicting, I had to come back n give 5 stars n write a review, because I was legit addicted I'm actually on the 4th book

An irresistible story from Kasie West that explores the timeless question: What do you do when you fall for the person you least expect?
When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn't think things could get any worse. But that's before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn't know much about Dax except that he's trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he's not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.
Only he doesn't come. No one does.
Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn's old life and old love interest threaten to pull her from Dax's side?

SWEET YA STORY, VERY WELL NARRATED!!!!
If you could sum up By Your Side in three words, what would they be?
    Sweet, Hopeful, Insiteful
What was one of the most memorable moments of By Your Side?
When Dax pulls the alarm to help Autumn...
Have you listened to any of Caitlin Kellys other performances before? How does this one compare?
Lots!! I love her so much...she is one of my faves!!!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Autumn finally admits to her friends she has an anxiety disorder...
    Any additional comments?
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **
This is a YA love story, no sexy times, but super sweet!! Autumn accidentally gets locked in the library over a long weekend...thinking she is alone, she is surprised when she runs into Dax...he is a foster child and his foster family had kicked him out for the weekend...a common occurrence...They become fast friends...well it turns out Autumns parents have been searching for her, thinking that she may be dead...so Dax pulls the fire alarm to get Autumn rescued...this triggers Autumns anxiety disorder and she passes out...
Jeff, Autumns long time semi boyfriend was involved in a bad accident, and Autumns friends have thought she was with him, and possibly dead...they are unaware of her anxiety disorder...and this is causing misunderstandings...she eventually has to come clean with them and be honest with herself..and this helps, and we get a very sweet HEA!!
WELL NARRATED AND A SWEET STORY, WORTH YOUR TIME AND A CREDIT!!
    Love Kasie West Books
Clean, fun story about discovering self and finding love. My daughter read it in a couple of days.
Warning! Romance was not the main theme and could trigger anxiety attacks!
Warning the protagonist has anxiety, for an empathetic and anxious person this book was hard for me to read.

    Title: RoseBlood

    Narrator: Rebecca Gibel
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 15 hrs and 12 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-10-17
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 73 votes
    Genres: Teens, Romance & Friendship
    Publisher's Summary:
This YA novel from New York Times best-selling author A. G. Howard marks the beginning of a new era for fans of the Splintered series. Rune Germaine moves to a boarding school outside of Paris, only to discover that at this opera-house-turned-music-conservatory, phantoms really do exist. RoseBlood is a Phantom of the Opera-inspired retelling in which Rune's biggest talent - her voice - is also her biggest curse. Fans of Daughter of Smoke and Bone and the Splintered series will find themselves captivated by this pulse-pounding spin on a classic tale.
Rune, whose voice has been compared to that of an angel, has a mysterious affliction linked to her talent that leaves her sick and drained at the end of every performance. Convinced creative direction will cure her, her mother ships her off to a French boarding school for the arts, rumored to have a haunted past.
Shortly after arriving at RoseBlood conservatory, Rune starts to believe something otherworldly is indeed afoot. The mystery boy she's seen frequenting the graveyard beside the opera house doesn't have any classes at the school, and vanishes almost as quickly as he appears. When Rune begins to develop a secret friendship with the elusive Thorn, who dresses in clothing straight out of the 19th century, she realizes that in his presence she feels cured. Thorn may be falling for Rune, but the phantom haunting RoseBlood wants her for a very specific and dangerous purpose. As their love continues to grow, Thorn is faced with an impossible choice: lead Rune to her destruction, or save her and face the wrath of the phantom, the only father he's ever known.
    A. G. Howard brings the romantic storytelling that Splintered fans adore to France - and an entirely new world filled with lavish romance and intrigue - in a retelling inspired by a story that has captivated generations. Fans of both The Phantom of the Opera musical and novel, as well as YA retellings such as Marissa Meyer's Cinder, will devour RoseBlood.

Not the Phantom Story I was Hoping For
I was disappointed by this story. The concept was interesting, but I felt it was poorly carried out. While the author had a beautiful way with words, the pacing was incredibly slow, and many scenes were explained in narrative after the fact instead of letting the reader experience them as they happened. I was also not a fan of the twist, especially since the overly supernatural/fantastical elements were not hinted at in the book description. Finally, I was disappointed by the overly-sensationalized emotions that pretty much amounted to heightened lust in a YA book.
I do feel the author portrayed Erik's character in a way that was fairly consistent with the original novel, so kudos to her for doing her research. And really, the way she wove together the connection between the main characters and the original characters was interesting and obviously took a lot of work. I just wish it had been executed in a different manner.
    The narration was superb.
    Too slow
Great premise, however he story moved too slowly for me to enjoy this book fully.
    captivating
I love this book I couldn't put my headphones down! Can't wait for what A.G. Howard has next!
    Amazing take on Phantom!
Such a great story. I loved that it wasn't just an updated version of the original.
