    Enjoyable
I enjoy it very cute story without the bad guys having the upper hand Justine didn't do that great as the American military stud but I still enjoyed him the most.
The Worst Narrator's Voice on the Planet
I'm sure this book would have been great, if the narrators voice was not so unbearably annoying, screechy, high pitched, and utterly untrained. OMG, I could hardly get past the 1st chapter. I finally made it to the 5th chapter and gave up. That is the only reason I gave this book only 2 stars.
Can't go wrong with this one!
    Any additional comments?
Just can not go wrong with Sabrina Jeffries. I love everyone of her books in this series.

    Highly entertaining
Very well written, love the story and charcters.
    An Enjoyable Read
A less then perfect hero, a headstrong heroine, and a few unexpected turns… This book was worth the credit.
    I COULDN'T STOP LISTENING
Final book in the trilogy and, in my opinion, the best but it leaves me wishing there were more sisters or even a brother. I know that's just being greedy but if, like me, you're into this genre, then this series has been one of the best.
The magic synergy between a good author, great book and a talented narrator all come together in this f...f...f... all right I'll say it FINAL book in the Banning Sisters story.
Now KR what's next for us ? Maybe the Banning Brothers or the Banning Cousins or even the Bannings the Next Generation. Whatever it is I'm sure your fans are, like me, waiting with eager anticipation.
Worth a credit? That would be a definite YES.
    Marvolous story!
I Love karen robards love stories. They are so exciting and fun to listen to keep you wanting more, and the narrator does a fine job to!
    AMAZING!
Karen had done it again! The book was a perfect ending to the series. The heroine Beth Banning was mesmerizing! I loved the suspense and the turn of events. Although I have to admit that my best book of the series is book 2 " Irresistible" . But I loved the 3 sisters. A must read. Rosalyn Landor, again thank you for such a perfect performance.

    Language: English
    Release date: 01-26-10

    Publisher's Summary:
Orphaned at 13, a mail-order bride at 14, widowed at 16, Sarah Kennedy has learned to depend upon no one but herself, reserving all her love for her younger brother, Conner, and for the wounded hawks she heals and returns to the air.
Personal tragedy has taught Case Maxwell to love nothing that can die, and that justice is blind. But when a confrontation with his sworn enemies, the Culpepper clan, leaves the hardened Civil War veteran near death, Case finds himself under the tender, unwanted care of Sarah Kennedy.
Destiny has brought the healer and the warrior together - two souls haunted by the bitter ghosts of the past - to brave chilling risks and dangerous truths as they seek the courage to face the greatest risk of all: love.
    Editorial Reviews:
Once a mail-order bride, Sarah Kennedy finds herself widowed by 16. Though fiercely independent now, Sarah still falls for the injured man who shows up at her door. For the first time, she learns the feel of real passion. Best-selling New York Times author Elizabeth Lowell captivates with this post-Civil War romance. Meanwhile, Vanessa Hart's performance is hypnotizing. She brings these Western characters to life through their dialogue and accents. Her low, husky voice certainly takes its time with the juicy bits. Romance fans will be warmed all over by Winter Fire.
    Critic Reviews:
"Her passionate, beautifully rendered romance blazes through the pages, melting readers' hearts." (Romantic Times)

    Winter Fire...WOW!
The book was really good but the narrator was horrible.
I have tremendously enjoyed Ms Lowell's 'Only' series and would highly recommend the books to all who enjoy a bit of erotica with a good story line.
The narrator really annoyed me. I had to rewind many times to make sense of what she was saying.
    Great story. Horrible Narrator
The story was great, however it was difficult to follow due to the narrating. It sounded like Alvin the chipmunk speedreading after smoking several packs of ciggarettes. At times the voice was so low, that you couldn't understand what was being said and some sentences were too rushed. I love Elizabeth Lowell books, but this narrator is the worst I've ever heard.
    I am a fan
Most of Lowell's books have just wonderful stories to follow. She fills her pages with characters that are rich with a completeness that rarely disapoints. The flow of the story is like a lazy river raft trip. You are part mesmerized yet alert for any dangers that may crop up along the way. I want to root for the hero's and heroines, and shoot those darn villans that keep popping up. From start to finish there is an emotional investment and ride that carries you through to the finish with a sense of rightness and completion. This is an author that I continue to go back to re-listen to her books because I always feel better for reading them. Her characters are real. Down to earth. It is easy reading in the best sense of the word. This particular book is a western. I feel like I have stepped back in time. She draws the reader into her plots and you get happily lost in another world. She makes writing seem easy when we know it is not. I would call her a wonderful story teller.
    Winter Fire
I have listened to many recorded books and for the most part the narrators are very good and can be clearly understood. This narrator lowers her voice so much the listener has a hard time understanding what she is saying.

    Enjoyable with reservations
Good character and plot development and an overall enjoyable story, but more spiritual references than I am comfortable with. I downloaded other books by this author at the same time and am slowly working my way through them but will avoid future purchases for this reason. If you are comfortable with a spiitual context and the implications this has on plot and character development then the book is an enjoyable listen.

What a privilege we have in Christ!
The story was beautifully written, with spiritual truths that were unmistakable. Kathy narrated beautifully too. What a privilege we have in what Jesus did for us, that no matter how bad a person is, Jesus paid for it all!

    Another man learns about love
Another in the Bastion Club series of aristocratic men who worked as Crown spies until after Waterloo.
He comes off as a real bastard in the beginning by ignoring her opinions and just steamrolling over her wishes regarding his pursuit of her for his wife. He slowly begins to show more redeemable tendencies as he catches her in a questionable situation and, when he tries to intimidate her, becomes horrified and ashamed when she responds in terror. He does stalk her to find out if she has become involved in something nefarious, but once he discovers that she has established a working safety net for endangered women and has, herself, become endangered, he begins to work with her group as a support person. Even when it becomes apparent that there is organized crime involved, he gathers the support of his colleagues to help, and each of them (even Dalziel) operates with her as the leader.
I have yet to comprehend why the publisher chooses female narrators for this series.
Jill Tanner is a very good narrator, but if these are books themed upon the Men of the Bastion club.....
    GREAT!!!
I really enjoyed this Audio Book. I'm a Laurens fan, have been for years, but I would not recommend for that reason only. The characters were well fleshed out, with depth, and there's an interesting story line. I've read or listened to all of the Bastion Club series; this was one of the best. The last two are out now. I sincerely hope Audible makes them available, in UNABRIDGED format! Laurens books (& many others) are not worth the listen/read in Abridged format. It makes them just a string of empty sex with barely enough story line to hold it together. NOT what most women want or like. Distasteful!
Plot not bad but too much formulaic sex
I have read the other books in this series and this one doesn't measure up. A number of the characters promise to be of interest but they are one dimensional I found it frustrating to be tantalized by characters that I am never given the opportunity to know. The author spends way too much time describing the sex act. There should be a limit to how many pages should be devoted to tweaking, plunging and licking. Time to end this series
    Need better voices for characters
The male voices should sound like males not females. Character voices should vary to distinguish them from one another, otherwise great book.
    Performance is horrible
What made the experience of listening to To Distraction the most enjoyable?
    The story
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jill Tanner?
    Simon Prebble
    Any additional comments?
Jill Tanner is the most boring narrator of all! I've only bought the audiobook to follow the story. Sometimes she is the reason to not purchase the audiobook and read the paper back myself instead

Title: Love Letters of Great Men
    Author: Ursula Doyle
    Narrator: Anton Lesser
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 19 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 11-13-08
    Publisher: Macmillan Audio
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 9 votes
    Genres: Romance, Historical
    Publisher's Summary:
Love Letters of Great Men follows hot on the heels of the film and collects together some of history's most romantic letters from the private papers of Beethoven, Mark Twain, Mozart, and Lord Byron. For some of these great men, love is "a delicious poison" (William Congreve); for others, "a nice soft wife on a sofa with good fire, & books & music" (Charles Darwin). Love can scorch like the heat of the sun (Henry VIII), or penetrate the depths of one's heart like a cooling rain (Flaubert). Every shade of love is here, from the exquisite eloquence of Oscar Wilde and the simple devotion of Robert Browning, to the wonderfully modern misery of the Roman Pliny the Younger, losing himself in work to forget how much he misses his beloved wife, Calpurnia.
Taken together, these letters show that perhaps men haven't changed all that much over the last 2,000 years--passion, jealousy, hope and longing still rule their hearts and minds. In an age of e-mail and texted "i luv u"s, this timeless and unique collection reminds us that nothing can compare to the simple joy of sitting down to read a letter from the one you love.
    Members Reviews:
Why can't present day men write like this?
I totally enjoyed the words and emotions expressed by these men. I guess in todays world with texting and tweeting it has become a lost art form, but even in an email you can express the same longing and desires of these great men for the women (or men) whom they love. It is time we learn from the past, express your heart felt emotions to those you love, there is a great power in the written words.
    Invasion of Privacy
Ursula Doyle did a tremendous job compiling these letters and providing the context in which they were written. I almost feel like I am invading the private intimacies of these relationships which makes this even more fun to read.
    Love this book
Love this book, and I really enjoy that the previous owner underlines and made little markings. I get to see or experience what was of interest to them; something that impacted or caught there attention.
    Five Stars
    This book is awesome!!!
    Alright by me
So cute, it didn't have the kinds of lien poems/letters I thought it would have. They're more like short stories, but it's still cute.

Very interesting, fast paced and engaging. Some parts are very funny. Always nice to have happy endings.
    great series
This is such a wonderful addition to the bride series. Really enjoying this whole collection. At first I only read the FBI series, but thisseries was able to draw me right in
    Good Story
I liked the touch of mystery laced with romance in this book and as far as I am concerned Anne Flosnik is one of the best narrators. A who done it. Loved it.
    Sinjun Comes All Out
What made the experience of listening to The Heiress Bride the most enjoyable?
Seeing Sinjun in her element. Always scheming to get her way.
What other book might you compare The Heiress Bride to and why?
I had read the first two series and how Sinjun was a humorous character. Now in her own story it was something to see her coming into her own. Choosing her own husband as bold as you like, and keeping everyone on their toes. How her mouth keep everyone surprise because she is always saying what she thinks.

Very funny and entertaining. Wonderful to relax to at the end of a long day with fifth graders
    Not impressed
I am a catherine Coulter fan and enjoy her stories very much. This story, however, wasn't very appealing. It's long winded, vapid, and the characters aren't very convincing. Not worth the credit.
    Breathtaking!
I am beyond words, but Catherine Coulter outdid herself with this book! It was absolutely breathtaking!!!!!!!! Genius! The story was so fabulous and sit on the edge of your seat..........some areas made me pass out laughing. The narrator Anne did a great job with the different character voices....I loved the Reverend most of all! A triple recommend for me!

    Publisher's Summary:
It's time for a bit of cat racing, a sinister mystery, and a light touch of gothic menace. Add the signature Sherbrooke grit and wit and voila, you have Pendragon.
Here's to the next generation - Tysen Sherbrooke now has four sons and Meggie, age 19. Her almost-cousin Jeremy Stanton-Greville - Sophia Sherbrooke's brother, and the man Meggie has held in silent adoration since she was 13 years old - unknowingly breaks her guileless heart. Deeply depressed, she rallies with a hasty marriage to Thomas Malcombe, the earl of Lancaster and a brand-new card in the Sherbrooke deck, in the spring of 1824, despite a very nasty rumor involving a local girl.
Thomas takes his bride to Pendragon, a castle on the southeastern coast of Ireland. A monstrous old place, filled with very eccentric folk, Pendragon nonetheless charms Meggie, until she discovers that she's there for a reason that could lead to disaster.
I hope you like Meggie Sherbrooke's story and getting together with the Sherbrooke clan again.

Meggie Sherbrooke Finally Gets Her Own Story ... But It Is Just An OK Read.
It is an Okay book compared to the other Sherbrooke series that Ms CatherineCoulter had written. The story is about Meggie Sherbrooke (daughter of one of the Sherbrook brothers) who had similar character like her aunt - Sinjun Sherbrooke (The Heiress Bride). Meggie Sherbrooke trained cats for cat races, hence in the story you get to read a scene on cat racing. It is a light-hearted romance story about Meggie & Thomas with a very light dose of suspense thrown in. Meggie was in love her almost cousin, Jeremy, who is in love with another. Then Thmos came along, met Meggie and fll in love with her. He proposed and Meggie accepted and they married & went to live in Pendragon. Along the way, Megge was the recipient of a series of accidents. The question is : who is out to do Meggie harm? And why?
Now, the story will be a tad more engaging if a ghostly visit were thrown in ... as per in accordance with the other story in the Sherbrooke series. Afterall, Meggie is a Sherbrooke. If Sinjun gets help from the resident Sherbrooke ghost, why did the Sherbrooke ghost (the virgin bride) not inform Douglas & Alex Sherbrooke (uncle & aunt of Meggie) about Meggie's danger ?
Therefore, compared to the earlier Sherbrooke series, this Pendragon: Bride Series is an OK read. Not very good yet not bad either.
3 and 1/2 Stars: Fairly Entertaining Installment in the Bride Series
Cat racing? Really? Perhaps it was an interesting way to begin a romance, and though it was actually something done historically in England, it seemed so fanciful to me I put the book down and started another. However, since I committed to read this (among many others) for my Best Irish Romances list, I eventually picked it up again. I have to say while I could have done without the cat racing, it turned out to be a fairly entertaining read.
Set in 1823, this is 7th in the Sherbrooke series (see list below) and the only one of Coulter's romances set in Ireland (and really only the last part). Both the hero and heroine are English, but they do end up in Ireland...at a castle called Pendragon. Having not read others in the series, it was clear that I was coming into the middle of things.
