    A bit irritating
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Not unless somebody else records it again. Having said that the story is great.
What did you like best about this story?
The description Georgiana makes of all the characters involved and how she changes throughout the story
What didnt you like about Mary Sarahs performance?
Georgiana's voice is ok though she pauses too much making her speech sound unnatural. Colonel Fitzwilliam always sounds as if he is telling others off.

    A Great Variation!
What a great Pride & Prejudice variation this is! One little change altered the events of the original to be almost unrecognizable. Even with a whole new set of events, the story was still believable and the characters familiar as our dear Darcy and Lizzy.
Elizabeth Bennett is attending the Meryton assembly when Mr. Darcy, Mr. and Miss Bingley, the Hursts, and Colonel Fitzwilliam arrive. She is immediately attracted to the tall handsome Mr. Darcy, and is happy to see Jane's eyes directed to Mr. Bingley. Mrs. Bennett gathers her chicks together to be introduced to Bingley and Darcy, but omits Elizabeth in the confusion. As a result, when Darcy meets Elizabeth's eyes across the room, he doesn't know that the lively beauty he admires is a daughter of the vulgar woman he just met. When Bingley asks Darcy to dance with a Bennett daughter, he doesn't know that the scathing comments he makes are about the woman he can't take his eyes from.
Elizabeth and the others near her overhear Darcy's comments and Elizabeth is humiliated and offended. Recognizing Bingley as one who might be easily led by Darcy, she formulates a plan to throw Jane and Bingley together while giving Mr. Darcy just what he deserves. Meanwhile, Col Fitzwilliam, a few years older than Darcy and one of the few people not intimidated by him, gives him a stern set down about his behavior at the assembly. Darcy recognizes that his behavior was ungentlemanlike and vows to apologize to Elizabeth and behave better in the future.
The early introduction of Col Fitzwilliam, a very mature and sensible version, completely changes the events of the story. He brings sense and shows Darcy just how he appears in public. Darcy doesn't need a botched proposal to humble him, although he and Elizabeth still have plenty of misunderstandings in this version without it!
The narration was well done, it didn't pull me out of the story and fit with the tone very well. I will be adding this author and narrator to my to read list!
    Excellent variation
J Dawn King always writes wonderful P&P variations and this one is narrated by one of the top two readers (IMO) ... Pearl Hewitt and Stevie Zimmerman. You can't go wrong with this combo.
    another match?
Darcy lives up to his abominableness. what is fun is to see a different match for Charlotte.
    well done
This was a fun retelling of P and P.

Can she forgive the hurting man who costs her the role she loves?

Ryan Chambers is a Civil War veteran still haunted by the horrors of battle. He's secured the position of lighthouse keeper mostly for the isolation - the chance to hide from his past is appealing. When his failings endanger others, he and Caroline realize he's in no shape to run the lighthouse, but he's unwilling to let anyone close enough to help. Caroline feels drawn to this wounded soul, but with both of them relying on that single position, can they look past their loss to a future filled with hope...and possibly love?

    narration is wanting
The narrator's tone dips at the end of every sentence. It's annoying. It somehow sounds condescending.

    Captivating
Tim Campbell narration is spectacular. He really brought Cynthia's story to life. The accents were spot on. I really enjoyed listening to this book.
    Loved This
If you could sum up Heart of Fragile Stars in three words, what would they be?
    Exciting, Romantic, Dramatic.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Heart of Fragile Stars?
How to answer this without giving spoilers, hmm? OK well one of the memorable moments was after Antonia was rescued and she discovered who her hero was.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I can't say without giving spoilers, but suffice to say that it was between Antonia and Jean-Phillipe.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes a few actually, but again I can't say which without giving spoilers.
    Any additional comments?
This was a thoroughly enjoyable short story full of drama, passion, magic, danger and intrigue. The narration was great, with Tim having to do a variety of accents. His normal narrative voice is smooth and enjoyable to listen to, his cockney accent is fun, his Russian accent good, apart from the occasional moment when I thought he sounded like the Count from Sesame Street lol, but his French was suave and sexy especially when he is speaking to Antonio as the Captain. A wonderful achievement to manage all the voice characterisation and to do it so well.
    Great book and awesome narration..
For only being 112 pages this was a very good short story, from the time Jean-Phillipe and Antonia met, with him dressed totally as a fop in pink and red and big white wig, to the time he rescued her from Tobias. And with it being only 112 pages I wasnt surprised that it was love-at-first-sight for Jean-Phillipe. Unlike some reviewers I cant take a star away from this story because it was too short or too rushed. How fair is that when you knew how many pages there were going in?
This was the story was about a man of nobility who chose to be a pirate. Of a cursed sword, and the attack on the Conquerer by Jean-Phillipe's ship Pursuit. There really never was a dull moment and you weren't left with unanswered questions. al least I wasn't.
Except for Tobias, who thought he was all that, and Humphrey, who was just a big fat jerk, I did like the other players: Pierre, Zoya, Roland the monkey, and Étienne and Danielle, Jean-Phillipes parents.

    Publisher's Summary:
Big and burly, with a crown of vibrant red hair, as the son of the chief of Clan Munro, Jamison's path in life was more unconventional than those of his clansmen. Fostered in England and France, Jamison learned the ways of his adversaries before returning home to take his place at his father's side. But his father is a progressive thinker, knowing that in order to survive, his clan must become allies with the English. He knows that isolation will only bring destruction to his clan. Willem Munro has traveled the world, much like his son, and has made friends along the way. When his English friends to the south call upon him to help in their battle with the Welsh, Willem sends his only son.
Now, Jamison finds himself living with the English again as they do battle against the Welsh. Although highly trained in English tactics, and having many English friends, he cannot give himself over 100% to their ways. He sympathizes with the Welsh even as he plans battles against them. Outwardly supporting the English, he is nonetheless torn.
When the call goes out to defend Four Crosses Castle against a Welsh attack, Jamison rides to the siege and finds himself caught up in a nasty battle. With the gatehouse breached, he charges in to defend the occupants only to be attacked by one occupant in particular. What he first believes to be a small and slender knight, he soon finds out to be someone else. He is met with ferocity by a skilled lady warrior.
Lady Havilland de Llion is the daughter of the lord of Four Crosses Castle. Part-Welsh, her family is nonetheless loyal to the English and to de Lohr. When she sees the big Scotsman, she assumes he is siding with the Welsh and goes after him with a vengeance. Even upon discovering his loyalties, she doesn't believe him and their fight goes on long after the battle itself is finished. But soon enough, the contention between them turns to something else.
Politics, battles, loyalties, and roaring passions play out in a story of high emotion and high adventure. To the big Scots knight known as The Red Lion, nearly everything in his life has come at a price, but in the battle for Havilland's affections, there is no price that he will not pay.

    The Red Lion
I needed my Le Veque fix so. I decided to start the "Highland Warriors of Munro" series. This first book "The Red Lion" is a solid medieval love story that is more on the "sweet" side than many other medieval books written by Kathryn Le Veque. It's different from what most readers have come to expect but as long as you go into this book with this knowledge it shouldn't be an issue.
I really enjoyed the characters. Jamison is a strong Scottish warrior who meets his match with Havilland, who is English and a warrior in her own right. Their journey begins with some funny moments then builds to a sweet romance.
I thoroughly enjoyed Brad Wills' narration. He is always a delight to listen to.
This is definitely worth a listen for those who enjoy sweet medieval romances.
Just Terrific ......but a rushed, weak ending.
    Any additional comments?
The characters of Lady Havilland and Jamison are very well drawn. I enjoyed spending time with them. The story is very strong as is the narration.

Will he choose loyalty to his family - or risk everything for the one woman he believes is his perfect match?
    Critic Reviews:
"This is a strong continuation of an appealing series." (Publishers Weekly)
    Members Reviews:
    Narrator is terrible!
I've only made it 38 minutes into this and I'm returning it and just reading the Kindle book. The narrator is terrible! Choppy elocution due to over-pronunciation of every single syllable so that *everyone* sounds like an old, pompous ass no matter what their age or sex! I gave the story 4 stars only based on on the other reviews but felt I needed to comment on the narration since no one else has given a review on the Audible book...
Narrator made the dialogue sound so stilted
I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes due to the narration. I'm returning this one.
    Not a Cheesy Romance Novel
Yes it is a Regency novel but there is nothing cheesy about it. The story is well crafted and the characters well drawn. The Marquis is as dry as the the stick up his rump. He was raised steeped in the belief that he is an aristo and entitled. All was as it was to have been until an unknown woman approached him demanding he listen and hls refusal to release her until he could determine what she was up to. She was only trying to warn him of a pending parsons trap but before she could do it he dragged them both into an unintended trap and she became his afianceed bride. She is also an aristo but from the other wing. She believes that to whom much is given even more is expected. Being an aristo just isn't enough.
There are no spoliers here. Just a lost boy, a couple of kittens, murder, kidnapping and your usual Regency novel fare.
    dont do it
this book is so boring... i cant figure out if its just the narrator or the uninteresting plot.
    narrator kills the story.
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
    it was for me.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
it was not a great story. i doubt i will buy another book by this author.
At that time in England, title was of most importance and to make constant fun of the Marquise's title was not realistic.
and it was not only the bride, which may be understandable because she was looking for love but some around him.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Cat Gould?
Alex Wyndham, but he is too good for this story
What character would you cut from When a Marquis Chooses a Bride?
    none
    Any additional comments?
it was such bad narration the choice was to just stop or cut my audible loss and finish by reading it.

"[A] light, cheery romance" (Publishers Weekly)
    Members Reviews:
    Boring with an irritating heroine
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No. The narration was terrible. It is read like someone who is practicing their British accent.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
    I'd get a different narrator
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator read the story like she was reading the story. . . very slowly with each word over-enunciated. The dialogue is virtually impossible to follow as she doesn't read it like a conversation.
Was Three Weeks to Wed worth the listening time?
No.THe main character, Grace, is irritating almost beyond the telling of it. She is supposed to be this strong, self-possessed woman who has taken on the responsibility of raising her 7 brothers and sisters after their parents die. She runs the household like a champ, the kids are all awesome and well-behaved. But Grace decides on a whim that she's going to cash in her V card with a man she crushed-on during her first season. Then she sneaks off at the crack of dawn because she's in love with him, but she can never marry because of her guardianship. Guess what! He's in love with her too! After one evening's conversation! He can't believe she's gone, so he draws a picture of her and enlists everyone he knows to help him find her.
Matt is a good guy, I even like him as the hero. But Grace is insufferable.
"I just met you, let's have sex!" "I love you! I can never see you again!" "Crap! You found me! Let's have sex!" "We can't be together! Let's have sex!" "You can't touch me until we're married!" "I can't marry you because you'll a) send my brothers and sisters away; b) oppress me and take away all my decision-making; and c) get tired of me (who wouldn't?) and cheat on me (with no evidence to support this assumption)." "I know I said we can't have sex, and I cried the last time you touched my nipples, but let's have sex on my desk at (another) inappropriate time in (another) inappropriate location!"
It reads like a comedy of errors with the only shining lights being the awesome kids, staff and dogs that we get to meet here and there in the story.
    Hated the reader
    She didn't narrate.

Clare Griggs decided that at twenty-three it was time to leave home. This is a very sweet romance, clean and interesting. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.
