I love how each one brings out different characters and difficulties to be overcome. They flow quickly and smoothly. All the characters are so real, interesting & fun. I enjoy listening every minute.

Fun, light, Mail Order Bride Stories

What did you love best about Montana Mail Order Bride Box Set, Books 4-6?

The characters are warm and inviting. I wanted to follow them to see what happened to them next, to learn which couple would be the next to find romance and family.

What about J. Scott Bennetts performance did you like?

I thought he did a terrific job narrating this series of books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's far too long, it is a three book box set, running over nineteen hours -- to listen to in one sitting, but if it was manageable, I'd have enjoyed listening to it all at once.

These audio books present the listener with fun, light stories of young cowboys reaching out via newspaper ads to find a bride. The characters are warm and enjoyable; watching them interact provides a sense of contentment. I will say that there are many instances where I thought these books were more contemporary than historical, but I still found them compelling listens. I wanted to know what happened next. I still do! And there are more books to follow in this series, so Im hoping to find them in an Audible sale sometime soon.

Fun Story

A fun, engaging storyline about two characters who manage to overcome the crazy predicaments they keep finding themselves in while learning to love the other person for who they are.

Ups and Downs!

When Isobel is put in a position that is really terrible for her by her cousin, she stays agreeable and when the baron is stood up, he takes revenge on Isobel. It is fire and water that make an explosive combination that is a wonderful read! Brian J Gill is GREAT as a narrator. I like that he reads normally unless he is "speaking" for one of the characters. I loved this book!!!

The Barons Bounty

It was great,I loved the story and the characters so much.this girls addiction to shoes was hilarious ,I laughed so much when she was hiding them in places and then it rubbed off on the barons daughter and just spiraled. Oh and that scene from the woods with his squire,hilarious. This was a new author for me and now I'm addicted to her books. FIVE STARS

this was so well narrated. the characters really come to life. the story is both murder mystery and romance. i loved how crazed for shoes Isabella was you learned alit about shoes of the time. it was fun and romantic. the mystery grown in kept you on the edge of your seat. again the narration was wonderful. Do Not miss out on this great story.

Conlin doesnt really want to get married, but he will for two reasons: an alliance with a Scottish Laird and to get a mother for his rambunctious daughter. The second book in The Barons of the Cinque Ports Series is a page-turner. There is the mystery surrounding the murder of the Scottish king. Isobel, the heroine, has a shoe fetish and a talent for identifying people by their shoes and the way they walk. There is a marriage by proxy.

I liked this little story. Very different relationship between Darcy and Wickham. Only downside to this story is the narrator's lisp. Other than that I highly recommend this book :)

Worth Buying All Six of the Spice Isles

I simply bought all 6 from the beginning. I have learned new lessons, saw different types of pain, rejoiced over many amazing ways God helped people act in the places God wanted them to be..trials come with joy..as weeping nights come w joyous mornings. A Clean Historical Christian Fiction. Ea section leaves enormous cliffhangers. While we allow for this in other books, here all 6 can be bought & You Can know the ending just as I am. Excellent Narration!

Good Story

Terrible Reader

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. The reader of these audiobooks (this being the second) is terribly, terribly overdramatic... she makes it truly painful to listen. I had a hard time being able to tell if the book is over the top melodramatic, or if that's just the contribution of the reader! And the attempt at a British accent adds to the pain. I wasn't able to finish this book.

Cliched

The story would be fine if you'd never read a mail order bride novel, but except for her being a bounty hunter(which is totally not believable), the entire thing was one cliche after another.

The narrator was fine except I don't like the sound of her voice, which she can't help & that is only my opinion. It may not bother anyone else.

As a warning to others: don't buy a lot of books from one author until you are sure you like her stories. Should be obvious, but I evidently needed to learn the lesson again!

A New Experience

I've never read about female bounty hunters and I really enjoyed this one. Finding the men who killed her family was top priority with Jo and she succeeded. After the last one had been tried she decided to begin a new life as a mail order bride, and married Sheriff Sam Longworth. This is a good book and believe you will enjoy it.

Jo kept her old life a secret from her husband but needed his help to really start her new life.

Lovely and sweet

This audiobook is very refreshing, Cynthia Woolf has woven a simple and fast paced historical romance that a lot more realistic than most books in same genre out there. I don't have to put up with so much monologue and read description about everything, she did what is the most important thing and that is the development of the main characters and their interactions without boring us about the scenery and mundane things. Lia Frederick as the narrator is believable and enchanting. Thanks Ladies x

Very good Christian story. Thoroughly enjoyed the mystery as much as the Christian aspect. Wish there was already a series of these group of characters :) Kim is a wonderful writer and the reader/narrator was excellent!

Excellent as always

Before I even begin listening to this author's books, I know with confidence that it is going to be 1) clean from beginning to end. 2) keep my interest all the way through. And 3), have good clean moral values all the way through. The villains can be true villains without subjecting the listener to foul language, and the heroes and heroines are normal flawed individuals, but will always ultimately look to God for their deliverance and salvation. The narrator is highly professional in portraying all the various voices and nuances of the narration. You forget that you are being read to, and are drawn into the story totally. Although she has a nasal quality to her voice which of course she cannot help, you soon forget about it because of the excellent quality of her narration.

Great author ; Great narrator

I actually chose this book because Kim Sawyer is a very good author, and Kate Forbes is top notch narrator. Sawyer writes with great character development and a unique story line.

And it's hard to find a narrator I like as much as I like Forbes. I choose books to read where she is the narrator and I don't know the author. That's how good she is.

Suspenseful, Romantic and Heartfelt

This was a wonderful romantic story filled with a lot of suspense, tension, heartache and sweet moments. Tom was an incredible hero. I think He's my favorite that I've read of Jody's thus far! I loved the romance and unabashed passion Tom's dad had for his wife and how he encouraged Tom to Love like that too. The dinner scene in chapter 12 had me giggling and fanning myself . Just so fun, sweet and honorable. A clean yet passionate story not to be missed!

Sweet, light mail-order bride romance

This is a sweet mail-order bride romance, with a likeable couple. It is a very light, quick read, great if you don't have time for a longer novel. My complaint is that the issue the couple had was too easily resolved. I won't give any spoilers, but I don't think it would have been that easy.

The description says this is the spicy version of the story, but it really isn't very spicy. There are some sex scenes, but they are not really explicit -- and they are between a married couple.

Not your typical cowboy, and not your normal blushing bride.

We met Luke Chance in the Hot on the Trail series. In that series, he was just teen with a penchant for trouble. Now, itâs years later and heâs a grown man, but people havenât ever given him a chance to show that heâs no longer that troublemaker teen and that he really has grown up and can be responsible. So, he asked his adoptive Mom and her friends to send for a bride like Franklinâs Corva. (His Perfect Bride, book 1 of this series.) Who is sent is Eden. Sheâs nothing like Corva, but then, Luke is nothing like Franklin. And this is just the beginning for themâ

I really loved this story. I liked the kid, Luke. He needed some guidance, but he wasnât a bad kid. And in this book, Eden is exactly what he needs. This book is so much more than a simple romance though. Edenâs faith in him, inspires him to be the man she sees in him. It helps him to step up into the shoes heâs been trying to step into for so long. I wonât say she made a man out of him, she helped him to see the man he already was. And in doing so, helped everyone else see it too. On top of that, there is a role reversal here that I wonât spell out, but I will say was BEYOND refreshing! I LOVED it, and Iâm so GLAD that it has finally been addressed. (At least as far as Iâve read!) And we know that Cody is next, heâs already let us know. So, I canât wait to see just how this works out for him. :)

Ms. Farmerâs series keeps fresh. I donât know how she keeps so many ideas without rehashing the same thing over and again, but she does.

Time Travel Journey

This is a well written and researched time-travel story. Although this book starts off at a rather slow pace it does pick up some speed when the plot throws some curves. This is the kind of book that, after you finish it and know the outcome, you would want to read again to analyze how the author weaved this story. Some very clever writing.

The narration was well done. There were, however, a few audio glitches that weren't the narrator's fault.

I know this kind of book isn't for everyone but it's a nice listen if you enjoy history, time-travel, mystery, with a bit of romance

September Sky is a time travel book that explores a historical event through fiction. A father and son are given the opportunity to travel from 2016 back to 1900. Their relationship develops during their adventures and the people they meet are different from ones in their time period. They have a mystery to solve all in a short window of time. It is interesting to see the different perspectives between the two time periods. Romances develop and it keeps the listener waiting to see if they will go back alone, accompanied or will they stay. Will their presence change history.

I see there are more books in this series that I want to explore.

The narration was well done.The characters were well portrayed.

I've listened to a few of Chaz's audios and have enjoyed them all.. He's very recognizable. When I ordered the book, I didn't realize that I had been listening to Chaz in previous books, along with the author.

This particular audio is right up there on the list. At first it took a little getting use to him, but when I started listening to this audio, it was a pleasant surprise.

Perfect Romance

This was the first Cathy Maxwell romance that I enjoyed by audio. The accents of the reader give it extra character. I have loved all her books. Love is a strong emotion that takes many twists. She covers them all. I highly recommend this book and author and I will look for more audio Books by Cathy Maxwell!

Excellent! A truly enjoyable story

I listened to this story in one sitting it was so good. The narrator is excellent, very easy to listen to and the storyline captivates you right from the beginning. I can't wait till the next book from this author.
