    Publisher's Summary:
What happens when love and loyalty collide? Two couples must deal with the consequences of their messy love not just for themselves but for those who depend on them. For lovers of passionate romance in the vein of Nicolas Sparks.
When football star Nick Harding hobbles into the Black Salt Cafe the morning after the night before, he is served by Anna, a waitress with haunted-looking eyes and no interest in footballers, famous or otherwise.
Nick is instantly drawn to this exotic, intelligent girl. But a relationship between them risks shame for her conservative refugee family and backlash for Nick that could ruin his career.
Meanwhile, Nick's sister, Lily, is struggling to finish her medical degree. When she meets Toby, it seems that for the first time she is following her heart, not the expectations of others. Yet what starts out as a passionate affair with a man who has just buried his wife slips quickly into dangerous dependency.
Through attraction, breakups, triumphs and tragedies, these two couples learn just how much their beautiful, messy love might cost. A West Side Story for the modern day.

I didn't want it to end!
This book is hands down one of my favourite books I've read in such a long time. From the first few minutes I was instantly captured by the lives of Anna, Nick, Lily and Toby and wished so badly that I was a part of their world so I could continue to experience it even after the book had ended. This beautiful and at times heartbreaking story feels so real and incorporates the perfect amount of real world places and current issues. I'd recommend this book 1000 times over and wish I could listen to it again and again. Incredible. I loved it.
Perfectly matched narrators - all-time favourite!
Tess Woods's debut novel, Love at First Flight, stayed with me long after I finished reading it, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of her second novel, especially when I discovered that Beautiful Messy Love was the story of the children from the first book. Beautiful Messy Love is a stand alone novel, though. You don't need to have read Love at First Flight to enjoy it, but once you read it I'm sure you'll fall in love with Tess's incredible writing and rush out to grab a copy. I was lucky enough to receive an advance ebook copy and devoured it within a couple of days. I also received a surprise paperback advance copy too. I loved the story so much that I bought the audiobook the day it released and finished that within a couple of days, too. So now, I have the whole set!
Wow! This was the best audiobook I've ever listened to - and I've listened to almost 200 audiobooks (you can see them all HERE). There are four different narrators that are perfectly matched to the four different point of view characters. The book was a five-star read anyway, but this extra attention to detail took it to the next level. If you're an audiobook fan - this is an auto buy. If you're not sure about audio then this book is a great place to start. The narrator for Toby - SWOON!
I found Lily very relatable - in my early 20s, I also struggled with studying a difficult university degree and debated whether to finish it. My heart went out to Anna and I loved Tante Rosa - the grumpy Egyptian matriarch made me smile.

    Publisher's Summary:
City girl Paula married her lovely farmer, the only problem is he comes with a farm...
Another heart-warming rural romance from the queen of Australian storytelling.
Self-reliant Sydney girl, Paula, is looking forward to a new life in the country. Just married to sheep farmer Dan Woodcroft, she can't wait to escape her protective family and exchange her busy existence for a new life down on the farm in rural South Australia. But life on the farm proves rather different to what she was expecting. Why does everyone talk about the weather all the time? Why does no-one seem worried by the mice plague? And how is she supposed to feed all those shearers?
With Dan's brusque Aunt Rowena to contend with, his gorgeous ex-girlfriend showing up with a grudge and communication between her and Dan breaking down, Paula begins to question whether she can cope - is the life of a farmer's wife is really for her? Forecast: stormy weather.

    Five Stars
A really great book, I enjoyed reading it and would highly recommend it.
    Satisfying - a great read!
After a rushed three days in Sydney for their honeymoon, Paula and her new husband Dan Woodcroft headed for his family farm in rural South Australia. Dan had been raised by his Aunt Rowena after both his parents had died when he was young â the home Dan brought Paula to was the old farmhouse his grandparents had previously lived in and it had been uninhabited for a long time. Paula was aware it needed renovations and was happy Dan had had their bedroom prepared before their arrival.
Danâs hours on the farm were long â the seeding had just started so he was on the tractor from sun up to sun down leaving Paula to her own devices. And Paulaâs first shock was the mice. Plague proportions had her shuddering, but with the help of the quiet and shy Tom, they slowly eradicated them from inside the house. Aunt Rowena was a brisk, unsmiling woman who didnât seem at all happy to see Paula; but Jane was a lovely woman who quickly became a friend. And she found herself getting on well with Dara â so why was she feeling the way she was? Was it possible Paula had made a mistake in thinking she could go from being a high flying executive in Sydney, to a sheep farmerâs wife deep in the Australian bush â even with her deep love for Dan?
A Chance of Stormy Weather is another satisfying, emotional rural romance by Aussie author Tricia Stringer which I thoroughly enjoyed. My favourite character was the crusty old Uncle Gerald and his continual prediction that there was âa chance of stormy weatherââ I really enjoy this authorâs work, and am glad I still have a couple on my huge âto be readâ list left to read. Highly recommended.
    Fantastic Reading
A warm story with a few surprises, some twists and turns and many likeable characters. The author's magnificent writing had me from the first chapter in a story that wove its magic for this reader. The portrayed emotions and events were up and down and were moving in their entirety. The author spins a tale that grabbed my attention and had me not wanting to put the book down. Another fantastic story from author Tricia Stringer.

    Good collection of stories
Good variation of characters and stories - however the first story had a very irritating narrator - once past her though, the rest was good.
The narrator is the most annoying I've ever heard
Would you try another book written by Jojo Moyes or narrated by the narrators?
I would have loved this book if I'd read it but the narrator, with her baby voices trying to be cute and the way she pronounced 'says' drove me MAD I couldn't even finish it as found the terrible voices so annoying I wasn't concentrating on what she was saying. Such a shame, and such a waste of my money :(
    Short stories
These stories are all 2 short to settled down to listening to the book . I would have enjoy the book more
    Excellent stories
Excellent stories, thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. It was interesting listening to one of the stories which is the beginning of a relationship from another book. Loved it
As good as she always is!

Adrift in space with nothing to hold on to but each other, Carys and Max can't help but look back at the well-ordered world they have left behind - at the rules they couldn't reconcile themselves to and a life to which they might now never return.
For in a world where love is banned, what happens when you find it?
Hold Back the Stars is a love story like no other.

Tells us how wonderful love can be
I was very touched by this story of Cerys and Max, two ordinary young people living in the not too distant future who through extraordinary circumstances find themselves tumbling through space and fighting against hopeless odds for survival. This may sound like a one trick pony but the story of their love affair told through past reflections is the thing that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and rooting for these two very believable and not always perfect characters.
Please please don't be tempted to skip to the end to find out what happens, because you will simply miss the point of this lovely and very thought provoking book. Gemma Whelan reads this perfectly and I know I will listen to this again once I have had a chance to recover from this very emotional journey.
    I couldn't stop listening!
Fantastic story that you just can't put down / stop listening to. I built a strong connection with the two main characters and felt like I was experiencing their journey with them. Buy this book!
Adding the space setting doesn't stop this being chick lit
Rather dull. I thought the story sounded interesting, but it's basically the same old stuff set in the future and floating in space. Yawn.
    Excellent
It was hard to stop listening to this well written book. Sad and exciting and thrilling at the same time. Great listen!

The laugh-out-loud conclusion to the series that started with A Night in with Audrey Hepburn. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella and Lucy Diamond.
Fate has got it in for Libby Lomax. She realised, far too late, that her best friend, Olly, is the actual Love of Her Life. Now he's in love with the so-nice-it-hurts Tash, and it looks like her happy ending is completely out of reach.
Things start looking up when she quite literally runs into the completely gorgeous Joel. Libby discovers that there is more to Joel than his six-pack, not least the incredible fact that he honestly believes he has found his fairy-tale princess in her.
And if this wasn't enough, an unwanted guest shows up on Libby's enchanted sofa: Grace Kelly, wearing her iconic wedding dress and convinced that Libby is a figment of her imagination. But one thing that Grace doesn't believe in is fairy tales. Grace believes that if you really want something, then you've got to make it happen yourself - words which give Libby hope that happy endings aren't just for fairy-tale princesses.

    Absolutely loved it!
January 1951 and Eleanor Webberâs arrival at the railway station after the long journey from Sydney had her struck anew by the intense heat â but that was home after all. The vast sheep station in country New South Wales had been in her family for generations â River Run currently housed her mother and step-father, along with her step-brother Robbie. Her big sister Lesley was living in Sydney at a nunnery; her fragile state meant she hadnât been back to River Run in some time.
The gardener who had been at River Run for as long as Eleanor could remember chatted as he drove Eleanor back to the property â rickety, hot and dusty; nothing had changed â but when Rex informed Eleanor that her unexpected arrival would also coincide with guests arriving for the weekend, Margaret and Keith Winslow plus shearing would start the following Monday, Eleanor wondered if sheâd done the wrong thing in her spur-of-the-moment decision.
But it was eleven year old Robbie who would create problems on a monumental scale. Bored and continually up to mischief, the arrival of the shearers played into his hands. His childish worry of imminent attack on the property had him stocking his treehouse with supplies; the rifle his father had given him was always by his side. With his faithful cattle dog Bluey a constant companion, Robbie was determined to save River Run from the communist invasion.
What would happen when Robbie spied a stranger on horseback heading toward the river? And what was causing the tensions and hostility both in the big house and the shearersâ quarters? Was Eleanorâs presence creating problems or was there more to the situation? Danger was loomingâ
River Run by Aussie author Nicole Alexander is another riveting and tension filled historical mystery which had me glued to the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this authorâs last book, Wild Lands and this one definitely hasnât disappointed. The characters are well written â among others, I enjoyed Eleanor; and Robbie was a spoiled brat! River Run is extremely readable, and one I have no hesitation in highly recommending.

    Members Reviews:
    An enjoyable listen
Would you consider the audio edition of A Christmas Feast to be better than the print version?
I have never read the print version, however this is great in order to get your jobs done. By being a collection of short stories, I can listen to a story at a time and really get into it. The only thing I would say is that some of these stories have already been published as separate short stories, one of which I had read. I did enjoy listening to the one I had previously read.
What other book might you compare A Christmas Feast to, and why?
Any other festive selection of short stories.
Have you listened to any of Jilly Bond and Rita Sharma s other performances? How does this one compare?
This was the first, however I really enjoyed the narration and would look for others by them.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    short but sweet treats
    Any additional comments?
It would have been nice to have been told that some of the short stories had already been previously released, especially for those who have the print versions.
    Fun and frivolous
Enjoyable romantic chic lit, mostly (but not all) set around Christmas time. Easy listening while cooking or wrapping presents.
    Disappointing!
Although I have enjoyed other Katie Fforde books. This one is not for me. Stories are far too short with nothing to get your teeth into. Each one is over in the blink of an eye.
    Enjoyable book
Well written and very enjoyable listening. I love Katie Fforde books and can't wait for her new books to come out. Thank you for such enjoyment
    Very good for short stories
Normally I hate short stories but these were great - light and good humoured just right for the Christmas season!
