    Title: The Kingdom
    Author: Amanda Stevens
    Narrator: Khristine Hvam
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 11 hrs and 13 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-02-12
    Publisher: Harlequin Books S.A.

    Genres: Romance, Fantasy
    Publisher's Summary:
Deep in the shadowy foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains lies a dying town....
My name is Amelia Gray. They call me The Graveyard Queen. I've been commissioned to restore an old cemetery in Asher Falls, South Carolina, but I'm coming to think I have another purpose here.
Why is there a cemetery at the bottom of Bell Lake? Why am I drawn time and again to a hidden grave I've discovered in the woods? Something is eating away at the soul of this town - this withering kingdom - and it will only be restored if I can uncover the truth.
    Members Reviews:
    Creepy in a good way.
Really good second book in the Graveyard Queen series. I really like how the story unfolds for Amelia, how she discovers the towns secrets and how they effect her. At times it's a little predictable but getting there is a treat. Amelia and Thane are interesting and likeable and finding out how they've been manipulated is a very good read.
Khristine Hvam does a great narration but then I knew that from the Jane Yellowrock books she also narrates. I don't know a thing about a southern accent but I like to think that it's as Khristine represents it. In these books the accent makes the story all the creepier. I certainly hope they stick with her for the narration of the third book, The Prophet. Hopefully it will show up on audible soon.
    Good continuation - but.....
Good second book in the series which sees another graveyard needing restoring by Amelia but this one has some creepy surprises in store for her. Along with the plot, which is dark and creepy, it also tells us more of Amelia's beginnings and thus why she can see ghosts. However, there just wasn't enough romance in it for me to enjoy fully.
Worth my credit? Mmmm again, 50/50 I will continue with this series now I am 2 books invested into it but if I hadn't ever started the series then it would be a no.
Good story but not enough romance for me
Amelia Gray is on a new assignment in this book, she was commissioned to restore a cemetery in Asher Falls, South Carolina. Something about this assignment is suspicious. There is a lot of mystery to the town and the townspeople are very reticent to outsiders. She makes a handful of friends, most importantly Thane Asher and a stray dog she adopts and names Angus.
The biggest mystery she uncovers is her past connection to this town and we learn she was lured here because of her past.
This book was plot-driven and the romance was collateral. I was looking for a replacement for Devlin (her guy in book 1) and it didnt have enough of real romance to make me happy.
It is a well written book though.
Second Book in Series Delivers Chills
'The Kingdom' is the second book of Amanda Steven's 'Graveyard Queen' series. This gothic novel continues the story of Amelia Grey who restores old southern graveyards. She also has the ability to see ghosts. In this book, Amelia finds out the truth about this ability as she works to restore the old cemetery in Asher Falls, South Carolina which is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
This story brought chills to my spine.

lana Hamilton isn't an adventurer like her pilot mother, or a diplomat like her do-right brother; she's a brash, fun-loving filmmaker who'd rather work behind the camera than be a "Star Princess" in front of it. Heiress or not, she's a perfectly normal, single woman...until Prince Che Vedla crashes into her life.
With six months to choose a bride, the sexy royal wants to sow his wild oats. Ilana can't blame him-but fall for the guy herself? Hotshot pilot or no, Che is too arrogant and too old-fashioned. But when he sweeps her off her feet Ilana sees stars, and the higher he takes her the more she loves to fly. Only her heart asks where she will land.

    A favorite genre and author.
What did you love best about The Star Princess?
    The story and genre.
What did you like best about this story?
    Loved the characters.
How could the performance have been better?
A totally different narrator? I can't stand listening to women who are BIIIIIIGGG smokers. It's VERY distracting, especially when I'm expecting her to start hacking and coughing at any given moment. Not feminine at ALL.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
    It was just plain fun.
    Any additional comments?
Susan Grant is one of my favorite authors. Let's please find narrators that can contribute to her work.............not detract??!!!!!
Boring - reader made it worse
The reader's lack of inflection and raspy voice emphasized the slow moving story. The characters' lack of interesting characteristics couldn't carry the type of book the writer attempted. I liked the futuristic elements and wanted to find something to like, but this one puts me to sleep.
    Okay
The story was plausible, though set in the future and between different beings. But coincidence was necessary to get the HEA, and that can be tiresome. And you need to believe in love-at-first-sight, which I do. But that can be a challenge for some people too. However, I didn't like that the sex scenes were sort of glossed over with little detail. Why bother then?!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I must admit it took me a long time to get used to being read too. But after going back to the begining a few times because my mind drifter off i finally learnt to focus and quite enjoyed it
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Haunting?
i must say i really can't pick one, i totally enjoyed the whole novel
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Yes i found her voice very detracting, to the point i actually had to turn off a number of times
Could you see The Haunting being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Umm, now that would be interesting. As for the stars to play the parts i would have no idea, been a few years since i have watched a movie, well a new release movie

Fast paced exciting ride through Irish Mythology!
Would you consider the audio edition of Raven Calls to be better than the print version?
I do consider this audio better then print for this book. The whole series stands out more for me since I traded in my print for the audio.
This book was sooooo worth the 2 credits!
This was a wonderful story told with great skill. I have loved the heroine throughout all the previous books and especially this one. ???Raven Calls??? is a great story that was written with incredible intensity and depth. It???s a totally rich experience. I hated for it to end!
    Okay But Not Great!
What about Gabra Zackman???s performance did you like?
I love the way she does the different voices and brings sass to the charters.
    Any additional comments?
I Love the series but it seems like she is dragging it out and I feel that most of the story is filler.
Holy Crap, so much is going on in this book
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I actually almost did listen to this book in one sitting, I went for a quick morning walk and 8 miles later, I was in downtown Denver. (The walk back was terrible!) There is so much that happens in this book I just got sucked in. I was really glad I went back and skimmed through the other books in the series before listening to this one though, otherwise I would have been a little lost! This is one I will definitely have to listen to again to pick up everything that happened.
    Just fun!
I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and CE Murphy doesn't disappoint with the most recent installment. I really appreciate how Jo has changed and matured from book to book. Unlike so many of the heroines in this genre, Jo fumbles around, srcews up, faces the consequences of her decisions and learns from them. Very refreshing!
Gabra Zackman does a great job conveying the humor and sarcasm inherent in the dialog.
Looking forward to seeing where this series goes from here.

Entertaining!!!! But the not first in the Series
I love this book. It was fun and entertaining. I just did not want to stop listening to it. I finished it in a day. But I do need to warn you that this is book five in the series. At first I did not notice that it was not the first one. But then the author made references to what seems like pass books. I have not read the other books before. I wish audible would warn us that it is part of a series and that it is book 5.
But the story was fun and they were always some kind fighting going on. The narrator made the book a little up beat. Even when there was killing and fighting. It was interesting. I did not hate it at all. But she does need to work on some her voices. Sometime I did not know who was talking until the name came up. They sometime all sounded the same.
I like the fact the author did not just give us the main characters points of view or journey but multiple points of views and journeys. I loved it because it kept my mind involved.
There is some graphic sex scenes in the book but not to many. I wish audible also rated that.
I like this author, I have her on author to keep my eye on list. She kept me wanting to know what was coming next. The book can be a stand alone...but its not. I hope they record the others because I would like to have get them.
This book has Big Family Crazy, War and killing, Fighting, Steamy Romance, Dragons that are yummy men, Fun, and Entertainment from beginning to end.
    Hope you agree! Enjoy:)
What a disaster - the narration was horrible!
I love the Dragon Kin saga and couldn't wait for the audio version. But the narration is so bad its beyond belief. All the lively characters are flat - that is if you can work out who is who. And who is Avar? It sounds rather close to Evar in Fury of Fire by Correen Callaghan. The name in the book is spelt Eibhear. There is also a British slant to the language as mentioned by a previous reviewer. The narration was so awful it was criminal and only got one star to acknowledge that she opened her mouth. I never got past the first half of the story it was way too painful. Thankfully I download the Supernatural Anthology that has the Dragon on Top short story. It's narrated by Justin Eyre - now that woman really brings the dragons to life. She gives each one a different accent and character. It's nothing short of brilliant - I just hope she manages to do a few more because if the other narrator tries to do it again she needs to be taken aside by the Cadwaladrs!
    Totally Wrong Reader!
This was a great story but it was read by the wrong person! The prose of the story was written in "Olde English" vernacular but the reader didn't have an English accent. What happened to Justine Eyre, who read the short story by G.A. Aiken, in the "Supernatural" anthology? She was perfect for these dragon stories. Please get her to return as the reader before putting any more G.A. Aiken novels on audio.

Not what your expecting, happy surprise!!
Where does Priestess of the Nile rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Well i am addicted to audio books and have hundreds of titles purchased from audible. I need like a 5 book a week plan!!
Bought this one because it was cheap, and thought it would be a quick listen.
Usually the short books are more on the steamy side, with not much substance, WRONG, if you like fantasy fiction with a little heat and actually want a good story this is one to get and at the price you really cant lose.!
What other book might you compare Priestess of the Nile to and why?
Too many to list, as a female I am like most of you and like to spice things up a bit , but not with all the grunting and swearing, and wam bam the books is over.
This book was not like that at all very romantic story set 2000 years ago on the nile river, had good plot and just enough steam, and a loving hero all the way through!
What about Felicity Munroes performance did you like?
The best part about listening to an audio reader is that you forget your being read to, and she delivered. As I have said purchased for the price , but really got more that I paid for. good job!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and i did listen to is all in one sitting while i cleaned house!! that's why I am so addicted! listen to books while I am driving to work, on trips for sure and especially while cleaning!! As long as I have a book I could clean all day!!
    Any additional comments?
Just a quick 2.5 hours of romance to add to your day!!
    Unexpected delight
Would you consider the audio edition of Priestess of the Nile to be better than the print version?
    No audio version was great
What other book might you compare Priestess of the Nile to and why?
    Not sure
Have you listened to any of Felicity Munroes other performances before? How does this one compare?
No I haven't but I will after hearing this book
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    I cried like a baby
    Any additional comments?
I will listen to this book again. Very soft spoken and heart-warming like the notebook.
True love can live forever but where?
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would hightly recommend this book because it holds your interests from beginning to end.
You will be looking for book two.

    Super Good Listen!!
This was a very enjoyable story. We have a human Hunter, that is a vessel for a goddess. Her job is to keep Vampires honest to an age old treaty that keeps them from killing humans, under penalty of their own demise. This story takes place in Las Vegas, a very fun, decadent city, with things always happening. The mystery is who is killing human women and why, the most puzzling is the state the bodies are discovered in. With the scion of Las Vegas, (new head of the Vampyrs, Rowan killed the other one) at odds with her, but he can't keep his lips off hers, and not being very co-operative sets up the tension aspect of the book. So much so, she goes over his head to the First. Needless to say things get very interesting with the discovery of more bodies, with the Vegas police involved it will be hard for them not to realize that something not human is doing the killings. This book is worth a credit and I will be listening to it again.
    Attitude
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to several of my friends. There many trademarks in this book I like. The story is well written in my opinion, there is attitude from the main characters, the book has mystery, sex, mythology and vampires. I have listened to the book several times and enjoyed it every time. This something I don't usually do.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Goddess with a Blade?
When Rowan calls The First during one of her conversations with Clive. In spite of her rocky relationship with The First, she continues to honor him even when she is not in his presence. The First is over joyed to hear from her as well, lets her know she is missed. Clive witnesses the respect Rowan has for the First and the admiration the First has for Rowan, he then realizes he will not be getting his way. Clive witness something probably no one has witnessed there is a real father daughter relationship there. Even is Rowan doesn't believe it so.
    Which scene was your favorite?
    Sex on the desk.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    I am not sure.
    Any additional comments?
This book has a way of making a really awful day better. I really enjoyed the book.
Excellent spin on the supernatural world
Excellent spin on the supernatural world - just be aware that there are some very descriptive sex scenes (although they don't take over the book like some authors) and use of colourful language, (again it exists but there are must worse out there) so if such things put you off then this book is probably not for you.

    Transformational :)
In the latest installment of the Walker Papers, Seattle police detective and shaman Joanne Walker finds herself in the middle of transformational hijinks and murder. At this point in C.E. Murphys fantasy series, Joanne Walker is maturing and gaining much needed confidence in herself and her talents. But dont worry her self-deprecating and hilarious internal monologue is still present and priceless. Morrisons and Joannes relationship is still remarkably awkward but makes slight progress only to take a monumental step back. While I find the lack of romantic progress irritating, this is a wonderful series and Spirit Dances is a solid addition.

    LOVED IT!
What about Gabra Zackmans performance did you like?
Gabra Zackman is a great narrator. She really makes the characters come to life. I have to say I started this series in print and dropped them for the audio version.
    Any additional comments?
LOVED IT! I picked up the series and went through it in a couple of weeks. I had a few issues when the series started but I was still drawn to this world. I loved the characters. I started this book and though there wasn't enough Gary time for me I was still sucked in and had a few real life distractions but today I finally got to finish and WHAT a way to end this book. I have a few favorites books, and Spirit Dances is on that list. SD is also on my favorite list of the best ending's. This is not the end of the series but, WOW I've been running the ending over and over in my head all day, and I can't wait for the next book, Raven Calls! Good thing The release date is a few weeks away.
    To quote Morrison
Another step as a sharman for Joanne
I enjoyed this book the most in the series. Joanne is becoming more mature as a sharman and we get to see more Morrison/Joanne interaction, we have been all waiting for. There are parts that are laugh outloud funny as well as touching. I am eagerly looking forward to reading more of Joanne's adventures.

    So Freakin' Boring
The story droned on and on and on, and never picked up. There were many times I almost gave up on it, but hoped it would get better, it never did. The narrator was just awful, she made the story so even worse. Save your time and credit.
    Enjoyable but Mushy
This was a fairly good read. The characters and settings were well drawn out during the first half of the book, with enough plot progression during this to keep me tuned in. If you like formula paranormal romance without a whole lot of surprises, this is your book! It was a nice start to a new series. Sometimes the first book in a series spends too much time on "world building" and not enough time building the characters and the romance, but the author does a very balanced job of this.
I've seen some reviewers compare this to JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but I didn't really see it. In BDB, the good guy vamps fought bad guys who were supernatural, but not vampires per se. Also, the heroes in BDB were more over the top and bigger than life, even for vampires. I see more similarities (almost too many) in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breeds series, which, I might add, is a marvelous series for paranormal romance fans.
There are a few problems, which is why I only gave the story 3 stars. First, the book is loaded with the standard romantic fiction tropes that I, for one, am getting a bit tired of. The "gay male best friend", the "rushes headlong into danger despite all warnings because I'm a selfless person" and the "practically an orphan self sacrificing for my sibling" tropes, to name a few. Also, some of the dialogue between the hero and heroine was a bit over the top mushy. These are small things, but they did take something away from the book for me. Still, I have a tendency to like these series more the further I get into them, because I have more investment in the characters I suppose, so I have already purchased the second book.
The narrator did a good job, but tended to make the mushy dialogue sound even mushier out loud. I'm not sure if that's a product of the writer or the narrator, but the combination didn't really work for me. Still, this was only a bit of dialogue, mainly towards the end, so it was only moderately distracting. All in all, yes, I've read better, but I don't feel like I wasted my time or my credit.
    Boring
The story drags and the narrator is terrible. All of the vampires sound like pubescent boys.
