I LOVE Emily Beresford's narration. Great job with the narration. There is a lot of unhappiness and angst in this book. Not a lot of lightness.

Excellent audiobook

I love how KA Moll managed to write a complex story in such an accessible and entertaining way.

The cheating happens in the first few moments and thereafter it becomes a thriller about stalking and a drama about finding your feet and rediscovered love: this was Moll's best work to date and I loved every moment of it.

Pretty good

Better than average historical MM romance. Some of the language was anachronistic but otherwise it was pretty well done. Not too many sex scenes, which often become boring and repetitive, and thankfully the era prevented the tedious trope of the inevitable wedding at the end!

Loved this!

When I read the blurb for this book I was immediately interested. I love romance books, carnival books, and books that have a little added mystery to them. This book had it all. Tie in that it's M/M and I couldn't have asked for a better listen. The relationship between Jonah and Rafe was sweet and hot and i was routing for them the entire time. I also loved all of the secondary characters. I was drawn in pretty fast and the writing kept me there. This was the first time I have listened to the narrator and the first time I've read these authors and was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I'd definitely listen to this narrator again as well as the authors.

Wonderful love story!

This is a wonderful story of finding love, friendship, and acceptance in a traveling carnival in the early 1900's. Jonah is a small town preacher's son, and he has been kicked out of his home and beaten for the "perversion" of being attracted to another man. Rafe is the owner and leader of the carnival where Jonah takes refuge, and he has his own secret past and reasons for trying to escape. The two men are instantly attracted, and they quickly begin changing each other's lives for the better.

I found this story thoroughly entrancing. Jonah, Rafe, and the other carnival workers, are all brialliantly brought to life, through both the authors' words and the fantastic narration. There were moments that brought me to tears, and there were times I smiled happily. I enjoyed this world and the people who inhabited it. Jonah and Rafe stole a piece of my heart.

Good continuation

So far I have enjoyed both books I liked the story lines in both and look forward to reading the next one

Building Family

This story focuses not just on Hector and Steele as a couple but the building of a family with them bring to boys who need to be removed from drug dealing parents into their home. Hector and Steele's relationship moves forward with the push of the boys arrival. They have much to face that helps cement their new lives together.

A truly lovely story

When I first spotted this book I did not realize it was book 2. I immediately checked out book 1 and after reading the reviews was regretting that I bought book 2. The blurb drew me to read it nonetheless and I am so pleased that I did. It was filled w/ love, love between the two MCs, between their friends, between the two boys they took in. It warmed my heart and I went to bed feeling warm all over. I totally recommend this story, you will not be disappointed.

Fun way to experience this western love story

I think this book has just a few too many people and a few too many story threads to work really well.

BA Tortuga excels at giving us real people with strong country backgrounds in rural setting. In this case, Colorado, on a ranch.

Geoff, the chef (ha-ha) absolutely steals the show as the most interesting character in this story, but hes not one of the MCs, unfortunately.

While I thought Ford got the shaft from his uncle and Stoney, he didnt much move me as a character. I also think Stoney needed to have done more to earn Fords forgiveness than what we saw.

Im a fan of the authors unique, more stream-of-consciousness writing style, but this one seemed a bit all over the place. There were a few too many characters and side stories and the main romance sort of got lost in the shuffle.

Im not a big fan of second chance romances but I like single-father stories and Quartz is a good kid. The cowboy part will definitely be attractive to some readers and, obviously, fans of the author will want to check this out.

I like BAs The Release series better, but this wasnt a bad read, and it has a lovely epilogue which I adore.

UGH! First crack out of the bag: its pronounced like the metal lead Leadville, not like the verb to guide (leedville). Sorry, but that bugs me. John Solos accent on the Spanish words arent great either. But, I like his female voices, though. In general, I like his Western accent. Hes got a lovely slow drawl for Stoney. Quartzs voice is okay. Its hard to do children and he makes a respectable attempt. Ford and the many other cowboys are all voiced well. I think Geoff is hysterical and I like the voice he chose for him.

I think that this is a great way to experience this story, and to me, made it more fun. The authors dialog is her best feature and Johns narration showcases this. There are so many characters and John does a really nice job of differentiating them all. His voice is easy to listen to and he has a great sense of timing and emotion.

Loved!

A very good audiobook from a new to me narrator. He does differentiate the accents so it is easy to tell who is speaking.

I love Dee and Devon's historical novels and this one was very enjoyable.

A Very enjoyable story of two men courageous enough to pursue love in the 1800s. The main characters were sexy and had such wonderful chemistry which mAde the sexy times hot.

Just as great as the written word.

I loved this story when I read it forever ago.

And seeing that they are now available on audio is thrilling.

To have these two characters come to life not just with the brilliant story telling but fabulous narration was amazing.

The trails that Stephen had to through. To understand and endure. The every lasting love they found at the end.

Tepid

Tepid characters. Tepid story. Tepid narration. It wasn't terrible; it was just plain ole blah.

Lots of secrets

Would you listen to Stranded with Desire again? Why?

Probably not. It was good but just not One that stuck with me that much.

What other book might you compare Stranded with Desire to and why?

I would compare it to most in this line. Good stories with stereotypical tropes. You can always count on a good fluffy romance with this line.

No This is my first.

If you could take any character from Stranded with Desire out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Maine. I would like to see why he hid all these years and how he felt about who did the mystery and why they did it. I would also like to ask him more about his and Colby's future.

Stranded with Desire is a good story with the Boss/ Coworker trope, survival trope and a touch of mystery. Its all pretty stereotypical and easy to figure out but that is what this line is, just a fun, fluffy romance easy to read and enjoy line. In other words with this line, you know what you are getting. I love Rick R Reed ad Vivien Dean so you also know the story is well written and enjoyable as well.

Maine is running the company his brother wants to run. Maine is off o a business trip with his personal assistant when he is called to come back a little early and not tell anyone. The weather is bad but the pilot says they can make the flight, yet there is an issue and the plane crashes. Maie and Colby survive but are stranded alone in the mountains and have to find their way home. They also find that thier secret fantasies are harder to hide.

Johnny Mack's narration was good. The voices clear and pacing good as well.

If you like Boss/Coworker, coming out, mystery suspense, a light romance with an HEA you will like this

Stranded with Desire has a bit more of an edge to it than the previous Dreamspun Desires books Ive either read or listened to. Then again, when the main characters nearly die in a plane crash and then have to survive the wilderness, even if only for a day or two, it shouldnt have surprised me. What did surprise me was that the authors didnt go straight to the happily ever after once Colby and Maine were rescued. Nor did they make Maines decision as to whether or not it was time for him to come out of the closet, an easy one.

Really Good Author

We, our little group here, all loved the writer's others works on Audible, North Star in particular. That made getting this one fait accompli. Although Ms. Jensen isn't at her best here, her skills as a writer keep this one at a level that make it a good listen. When it comes to romance, I found the storyline of Once Upon A Summer pretty weak, the main storyline being the relationship between teacher Charlie Brooks and her eight year old student Luke. This wouldn't have been an issue either were it not for the ridiculously unrealistic ending and the feeling that the ending having been written at the beginning of the creative process was a difficult place to get to; thus the awkwardness of the narrative in getting there. This is the fourth book I've purchased by this writer and is the content the weakest of the four, however with this author it speaks more about the other selections than it does this one; while falling short of her previous efforts this is still a good listen.

Good book really well narrated by TJ. pity the ending jumped so far a head

Great short.

This was a very different short. I've not had the opportunity to listen to a lot of Lesbian writing, but I'm not shy. So this was a great short, but it was just that. I could really see that this could be something much longer. However, I enjoyed both the narration and the story. Of course, it was a little exotic, and the characters were deep, which really made them stick in my mind because in a short you don't always expect them to be. Well done to both the writer and TJ because together this was very entertaining. I'll be looking for more from both writer and narrator.

loved this book and narrator

I loved the storyline between tatum and Christopher. The Story begins with Christopher having a domineering boyfriend who doesn't respect him or can be faithful that's when Tate walks in and changes his world and Christopher's World at the same time.

Great start in a series!

I had read this book previously so I knew the story but David Ross brought this story to life in a way that was amazing. Tate and Christopher were alive in a way that pulled you in and did not want to let you go.

Though, I would recommend to turn it off when going through the drive-thru. That poor cashier still has difficulty looking at me without blushing.

Well written and authentic

Eli is a rich guy and a big fish in a small pond. He had a bad experience in high school that has led him to closeted life and/or identifying more bi leaning het than anything since.

Adam is the polar opposite. He wears his sexuality like a badge of honor and runs a center for LGBT youth in the same small town.

After a fund raiser Adam and Eli strike up a back and forth enmity of attraction and some scorn on Adams part. They end up devoting most of their time together building the Adams new center and helping one of the kids, Kollin, deal with his homophobic parents.

Without giving away too much of the story, something happens to Kollin that forces Elis hand and makes him face his issues.

Now that Ive read the subsequent books in this series, I can appreciate this book for what it has to offer more than I did on its initial reading.

I absolutely loved watching Eli emerge from his past through his work with Kollin and the center. (We just got to see the amazing person Kollin turns into in Book 3 and the groundwork is laid here.)

Adam was both fun and annoying in that he kept pushing Eli away then drawing him back in, but he was blunt and snarky and another great character. I was just as frustrated as Eli by his hot and cold routine, but again after reading Book 2 a lot of his actions make more sense.

Occasionally I didnt feel Eli behaved as Id expect a man in his position to act, and this brought me out of the story at times. Adam, however, continually felt real if wishy-washy.

For the most part I think this story does a really good job of staying in the land of possible and really feeling authentic. There were lots of ways the characters showed very human reactions and yet there was still the appropriately sweet (sometimes hot) romance taking place.

As the first book in a really amazing series I think this did a fantastic job of starting things off with a bang and gives the reader a lot to both love and hope for in the coming installments.

Drew Rosenberg is a new narrator to me, and according to Audible this is his only narration. His voice was really smooth and very easy to listen to. To me he did this very serious and sometimes heavy book a disservice in that his voices are sometimes more like caricatures than authentic people.

quirky fun with dual narrators!

I love it when a book surprises you, and this definitely did!

What better way to make someone confront their gender issues than make them attracted to someone who is transgender! Excellent plot device! Ginsberg thinks bottoming is not masculine. He thinks cooking and cleaning is not masculine. So his job, his sexuality, his desires all not masculine so he hates himself and his life.

The dialog is great, the emotions are really poignant without being uncomfortable, and I (for one) learned some things about being transgender.

The storyline is not typical in that it covers a less often discussed part of LGBTQ transgender. Its quirky and sometimes dark and painful. Though we have seen storylines where gay men who hate themselves, I havent seen it quite this fiercely before.

Anyhow, when our MCs do finally connect physically, its amazing and awkward and funny and tender again not your typical hot and horny man on man action. (I, for one, would have liked to see some more of this if only to really emphasize how love and sex are unique to each couple and not constrained by societys normal. I love the bonus hole! and wish it could have seen more action ;)

All in all I thought it was a great book, a lovely continuation of the Bluewater Bay Storyline (we get to see some of the old characters like Eli and Carter), and a really nice look at subjects not normally seen.

I love dual narrations! Though they didnt do a strict duo there are times when Dorian has to do both MCs as well as Tobias, but they separate them by POV. Dorian has this great deep western feeling voice that matches Derrick superbly and Tobias higher, more feminine but still very masculine voice and pacing is wonderful for Ginsberg. I really loved listening to these guys take turns and highly recommend this as a way to enjoy this story.

Sweet story with trans MC

This is a hard book to review. I am generally not a fan of dual narrations, but these were two great narrators, so I thought I'd give it a try. It didn't work out for me.
