Critic Reviews:

"Lushly detailed and ambitious in scope, The Price of Inheritance is rich in romance, war stories, and betrayals. A priceless read by a writer of immense talent." (Amber Dermont, New York Times best-selling author of The Starboard Sea)

Entertaining

Entertaining light listening. I liked the setting in the world of high-end auction houses and the ultra-rich milieu of Newport. The romantic angle was a bit weak, though

"Into the Shadows feeds into that yen for the dark, damaged hero like catnip for felines." (Dear Author)

Captivating thriller

Carolyn Crane created one of the most damaged heroâs I think I have ever read about. BY incorporate it the teachings of Bruce Lee, she helped make the actions of this super hero believeable. Once started I had to keep reading , very exciting book.

Astoundingly beautiful story

SPOILER ALERT BEWARE!!!!!!! I'm warning you this has spoilers!!!! Omg! Did that really just end like that? I've been waiting on this book for months. The last cliff hanger just about killed me. But this cliff hanger is ten times worse. Oh my goodness Alyssa you are killing me!!!! Ok now to the book. I am so in love with Luke Ryann. That boy loves Reese so much he's willing to risk his life to protect her. He goes back to working for his father. He's working undercover to bring him down. The whole time Reese thinks he's left her and doesn't love her. Then he finally sneaks around a few times. And Lord help me it was so freaking HOT. They almost have sex, almost, and it was one of the hottest scenes I've ever read. Omg!!! When Reeses dad Andrew goes undercover to help Luke things go terribly wrong. They are both shot several times. Andrew dies unfortunately and poor Reese is devastated. My heart breaks for her. Then as she's leaving the hospital she overhears Rachelle, the undercover agent, asking to see her husband's Luke Ryann. First of all Reese doesn't even know he's there in the hospital and hurt. Secondly, now she thinks he's married and lied to her. Three months later when the case is finally wrapped up and Luke is finally free. He goes to see Reese. He's lit candles, bought her shoes and a dress, and prepared a romantic rooftop dinner. But she's furious. She tells him she can never forgive him and that she knows everything. He things she blames him for her father's death. He doesn't know she thinks he's married and doesn't know about what really happened to her dad or what Luke was doing to take down his dad to protect her. He tells her he'll never stop loving her and walks away. Omg what a cliffhanger. I'm really liking her friend Sean too. He's so sweet to her and he really likes her ALOT. I hate to see him get hurt but I want Luke and Reese together so badly. But I like his character too.

Basically a good read.

Author goes way beyond what is necessary in her sex scenes, she seems to think going into great detail in each scene makes for a better read. She's wrong, they just become annoying and since its an audio book is harder to skip over. The main character and the plot are very interesting and believable. Think the author has a good future ahead.

Terrific plot and characters -

If you could sum up Shadow of Danger in three words, what would they be?

Suspenseful, Powerful, Character Driven

Who was your favorite character and why?

Celeste - Strong woman doing her best, and trying to help people at the same time.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to count, and really appreciated the mixture of police drama, chase scenes with a touch of romance. I am very impressed with this book and am heading to the bookstore for others by this author.Did like that backstory on all the characters. Very three dimensional!

Love a good mystery

kept me on the edge of my seat till the end however do not like gnomes.

NOPE

What disappointed you about Shadow of Danger?

Wet cardboard could have done a better job on the narration and the writing is extremely cheesy. Didn't make it past an hour of listening.

And OK read..

Any additional comments?

You really had to be kind of thick skinned to listen to what these serial did for their sick pleasure. Also, you have to NOT be bothered by swearing. The F-BOMB was let lose 83 times, which doesnt bother me but I know you puritans cant abide it.

I did find myself skimming pages now and then, since 414 pages are a little much. It was like the author was looking to add more and more stuff just to make the book longer. Like the part with Ian and Celeste relationship. It was MADE part of the book when it really didnt have to be there. It had nothing to do with the serial killers or her and Johns relationship, so it was NOT necessary to add all that. Any more than the story of Dr. Trumane had to be in the book. The book just went on and on. Between the parts that didnt really have to be in the book and Johns heartburn and acid reflux (was it necessary to mention that 13 times?) and all the sexual thoughts and the almost sex, and the sex itself.

Suspenseful

Wow, didn't know how this was going to turn out. Susan's AKA Rachael's ex husband was really one nutty jerk. Every time he was brought back into the story line. I'd cringe and think what in the heck is he going to do. This is the first book I have read by Lindsay McKenna. So don't really know if I like this style of writing. However I am giving another of her book's a listen. I really like suspenseful novels but this one was a little to close to a nightmare for my taste. Still in my opinion it was well done.

High County Rebel

Not sure why I kept listening to this book except for the fact that I always finish a book once I start it. I found Tallinn to be too horny from the very start. And he kept his secrets too personal way to long. Cat's voice was way too masqulyn for a girl's voice! Liked the ending, but I figured it out too soon! All was too predictable for me! Just didn't care for it. Won't recommend it to anyone.

just a tad too slow and easily figured out too muc

same conflict in da K series but fills my need to listen. to one daily and I like the characters in the series

Members Reviews:

Relaxing Read

Steady paced plot with believable characters. Recommended for those liking romance & suspense. Sit back & enjoy!!

Poor plot, poor narrator

What disappointed you about Fast Track?

Very disappointed. Not in the caliber of Mercy and others. Story plot and mindset of the female character much like a very old harlequin, not much depth, the man taking over-not listening to her-she smiles and is OK with it. Narrator made her and the other females sound ditzy (not anything like their own books) and superficial.

Will keep trying with Judy Garwood. Have loved many of her other books.

Has Fast Track turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No. Only finished it to see if she would find a backbone at the end. Nope.

Members Reviews:

WOW!

Wow...just WOW! This is one of the best dark romances I have listen to in a while... I am loving this series...vol... whatever... I like the fact actually that they are short... under 3hrs...because all the nitty griddy starts early on...

This is vol 2, and it picks up right where vol 1 leaves off... Lilly has signed the contract...and now she working for her freedom... This book gets a bit more dark with the violence... Lilly really pisses Stoneheart off... and he kinda... well... he is not so nice when he is angry...

Lilly slowly earns her freedom from the pillar...but where she ends up in the end... is it really any better than the pillar... OMG! I need book/vol 3 like yesterday!!!! So good...

Narration was great...

Great buy, credit or sale...

Hiding behind the couch but can't look away!!!

Would you listen to Uncovering You 2: Submission again? Why?

This series has been very cleverly written and I will be listening to this book many times. There are so many hints to what lies behind the story and another one comes to light each time the story is read.

What other book might you compare Uncovering You 2: Submission to and why?

At first I compared this book to Consequences but after reading this second book in the series I think it has a flavour of its own. It's obvious that JS has his own agenda and I am so intrigued to find out what that is. Lily is going to need to think so much smarter if she wants a chance to outsmart him. This man is ruthless.

Have you listened to any of Amy Johnsons other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amy Johnson's narration is as intense in this book as it was in Uncovering You 1.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

For me the most telling part in this book was in the early chapters when JS turned on the purple light to show Lily how easily he could control her boundaries. When he whispered 'run' my heart dropped - I almost gave up then. I thought 'this man is mad - how will you ever bring him down'.

Any additional comments?

Scarlett Edwards is an amazing talent. She has been able to continue the tension created in the first book through to the second and I am so looking forward to the third. I just hope our heroine keeps fighting back!

Hooklines again!

4 two hour listens, and #1 will snag you. It sounds very intriguing...along the lines of Consequences. This is my cup of tea so I am hanging in there to find out what happens. The narrator was good, not great.

Mysterious and Entrancing

This book takes your further into the story of Lilly and JS. The book has mystery and suspense. It will take you to the reaches of your comfort level as it deals with kidnapping and to some extent rape.
