Love the audio!!

I loved this book when I read it the first time around. I decided to listen as a reread before reading mother before wife, book two in the series. It's been almost a week, as I haven't had much listening time, but I'm so glad that I decided to see it through. I love remembering all of the things that I had forgotten about the compound. And Brinley and Porter. I think I'm even going to read the little nocella again before continuing on to mother before wife. Just for another refresher.

Love everything about this series!!

A beautiful story, brought to life.

This is crazy accurate with the details of polygamy life. I have always been intrigued by the Colorado City polygamists and this gave me a unique and beautiful story about following your heart despite the pressures of doing what you are supposed to.

Bridget Haight was so perfect for this book. She had that innocent tone to her voice that made you adore the character even more.

This book brought back memories of islands I've visited in the Caribbean. When you mentioned going to parts of the island most people never see I was reminded of driving to a pharmacy for medication for a patient on the ship I saw the dilapidated buildings in the same block. On the next street were signs of wealth.

Another island's hospital had chickens on the grounds. Family members brought and cooked food for their sick relatives. The handling of syringes and needles was medieval.

I'm retired now, but your books make me want to go back one more time. Can't wait for the next in series.

Typos

Enjoyed series but was annoyed by all the typos . Doesn't anyone proof read these books? They were so bad at times I had to reread it several times.

BAD, BAD EDITING !!!!

Unfortunately, although the story line is interesting, and the characters are entertaining, THE EDITING IS AWFUL !!! I hate to leave bad Feedback and this series of books is the first EVER for which I've left negative feedback. After reading the initial book in the series, I purchased the set of 12 volumes in this Caribbean Murder Series. The editing gets WORSE and WORSE as the series of books goes onward. Having struggled through 7 of them because I enjoyed the characters, I am finally throwing in the towel. I am NOT interested in reading books 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 (although Amazon will NOT refund my money because it is 15 days since I purchased) and I must say FOR SHAME on the Author: Jaden Skye for allowing good ideas to be presented in such a slip-shod manner. Not only excruciatingly BAD USAGE, but also confusion of character names. Nothing wrecks a story more than to have the main Detective's name exchanged for the name of the Murder Victim, and then the Murder Victim's name following in the next sentence. . .wait, who? REALLY BAD - NOT RECOMMENDED.

I like the plot, but I've seen better editing and proofreading on high school term papers. The atrocious editing really takes away from the read.

Way too many typos, thin plot, unreasonable characters, unrealistic emotional swings, etc, etc, etc...

I volunteer to proofread the stories before going to be printed.

Aside from a lightweight plot this book was terribly edited for both content and continuity. No surprise the download was free...the book is exactly worth what I paid for it.

The story is too short not enough information

Is there anything you would change about this book?

There needs to be more information about the characters, there was not enough time to know the characters or to really feel them. Then the story was over before it had really began........it was not believable

The story was really too short to deeply develop the characters. I liked characteristics of both the lead characters. Her for being responsible, grown up and caring about her future and him for appreciating a good woman when he sees her and for treating her with respect.

What A Surprise!

I knew when I started this story, it was going to end on a cliffhanger (and a fairly intense one at that), and the story is actually told over three short audiobooks, which I was ok with this since I knew this up front. However, what surprised me is how much I liked the first story in the series, and how much I am looking forward to listening to the other two books.

The plot moves at a steady pace, and has a Romeo and Juliet feel, because Chase and Allie, should not to be together. They both have fathers for rival MC's and being together will cause friction between the MC's. However, they are both attracted to each other and Chase pursues Allie.

Tanya Eby is great narrator, and this is the second book I've listen too today that was narrated by her. She does an EXCELLENT job narrating different stories and genres! Kudos Tanya!

Excellent Story

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I found this book very exciting. My first time with this author and I find Meli has all the characteristics of a great author. She gives you all the aspects of a great book that I like. She sets the story up from the first and grabs you and doesn't let go. She builds the story, the characters, the suspense, the romance to a point you become absorbed. I was disappointed when the story ended, but I jumped into the next one immediately. Just so I could follow Chase and Allie's relationship. Tanya Eby did an excellent job with the characters. She has a knack for distinguishing the male and female voices as well as the inflection in her voice to represent the mood and actions of the characters. Love this book!

Love a good MC romance!

I love, love, love MC romance. This one is no different. Such an instantly steamy story between the main characters, Chase and Allie. I will be listening to part two very quickly. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Not quite plausible enough for me

I didn't care much for this story, or any of the characters. The whole thing seemed rather shallow and unrealistic. I found it hard to even imagine some of the scenes that took place. However, I can see the appeal to a YA audience. Young people would definitely relate to the characters more, and probably find the story exciting and suspenseful, if not altogether believable.

I listened to the audible version which made it a little more interesting.

Good Listen, but a cliffhanger

I listened to this book for a book discussion, and went into it no expectations. Typically the MC genre of romance books is not my thing. I thought this book was well done, and really enjoyed Tanya Eby's performance. What I did not like about this book was the cliffhanger ending.

Bored again.

This is the second book by this author that I have tried to read. It was so focused on sex, thinking about sex, having sex, fantasizing about sex, describing sex, that there was not enough time to develop the characters and enact the plot. I will not be trying to read another book by this author.

Extreme Danger - Shannon McKenna

EXCELLENT!!!!!!! I would give this book 100 stars if i could. i have read ALOT of books over the years but nothing as good as this (Pamela Clare's I-team series is really, really close). I dont know how anyone could even rate this book lower than 5 stars. If you didnt like it....you're reading romance for the wrong reasons. Who wouldnt want to fall in love with or be in an affair with the hero of this book? The language was realistic not offensive. Sorry to break it to you 1-star raters, but i highly doubt a man in Nick Ward's way of life is going to have toned down language- it doesnt make sense - Men curse - its a fact. The sex in this book was EXTREMELY HOT! which is just one of the things that makes this book AWSOME. I have read this book 3 times (almost back-to-back) it was so good. Unlike some of her other books, this one hooks you in the first chapter and never lets go. It was by far the thickest romance i have ever read but it never felt like it and it never lagged. NONSTOP, start-to-finish whirlwind of emotions throughout this book! I supose though, if you like the romantic fluff that is completely unbeleivable (because i know of no tough or hot guy that talks that way)then Shannon's books arent for you. As for me, i will ready everything she writes as i nearly have already.

Wow! Another winner in sex, fear and suspense. I love this author!

During much of the reading of this book, I felt scared. The villian Zhoglo was evil. The things he threatened to do and actually did were horrendous. He was into rape, torture, murder and kidnapping children and young adults, who were imprisoned to be used later for organs to transplant. He would kidnap children, siblings and spouses of people as a way of blackmailing those people into doing what he wanted.

True to McKenna's form there were a lot of graphic, erotic sex scenes. I loved the characters. Tam had a wild and surprising role toward the end. She has had minor but important roles in other McKenna books as well.

Josh is the Prez of a MC and also a demon...he has been very busy and neglecting his wife Clarice...she leaves and goes on a planned vacation by herself..and he realizes he needs to be more kind to his wife...he goes to her and rekindles there love and finds out he is going to be a dad....he learns a valuable lesson about love and family and all turns out as it should!

A short sweet read with wonderful narrators

Have you listened to any of Robert Coltrane and Rita Rush s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Robert's but not Rita's. I did enjoy this one much better than the one I had listen to before. His male voices are wonderful strong but gentle when needs to be.

Any additional comments?

This was short and sweet story of finding what is important and holding on to it. At first this story throw me talking about demons it didnt take long to work out there were demons that were good that just wanted a nice quite life. I found it to be a cute read with Josh finding out what is important his marriage and his friends. There isnt a lot I can tell about the story or it would give it away. I found it to be interesting it was a read that I did enjoy. I wish it had been longer.

The narration of Robert and Rita was outstanding with Robert doing all the male voices and Rita doing all the female ones. Their voices blend together well with no background noises. You could tell where the one narrator stopped and the next took over but I would think it would be hard not to since they were so close in changing over. In no way did it take away from the audio and I was half way through it before I noticed it. They both had very clear and pleasant voices to listen to. Roberts was strong and powerful yet sofa and gentle. He hit the tones and emotions just right. His voice is rich and easy to listen to. Rita narration was sweet you could hear the pain of the character along with the need of wanting to spend some time with her man away from everyone else. She is easy to listen to with a very strong pleasant voice. I really enjoyed listening to both this narrators and cannot wait to listen to more.

All in all I totally enjoyed this sweet listen and look forward to learning more about this author and these narrators.
