I TRIED TO LOVE TREY'S STORY..BUT IT WASN'T FOR ME

I've really enjoyed this series so far and I am absolutely gutted that this story left me cold and wishing I hadn't spent many lost hours listening to it.... hours where I could have been listening to a much more rewarding book. I do realize that I may be in the minority but sometimes, for whatever reason, you just can't connect to the main characters, the narration, the plot.... or perhaps all three.

Trey had grown up with Taylor the love of his life and they were just waiting until she was 18 before they could run away and be together but Trey's evil wicked religious Father had other plans in mind and orchestrated a devious and heartbreaking plan of murder. The tragedy rocked Trey's world and he still left but he was a changed man vowing never again to let love in. Instead he changed his name and reinvented himself into an unsociable, arrogant, cocky and cold-hearted manwhore. On top of the hidden heartache, he was played by one of his hook ups and ended up being a pawn in a sex game he unwittingly played which shook his trust in friendship too. So now he's just an empty shell of the loving man he used to be - only interested in three things.... music, eating and pussy.... and his attitude never changed - even when he joined the Devil's Lair Rock Group (at about 40% into the story) and it epically continued when they made it big. The rest of the members of the band were friendly, supportive and understanding that he just wanted to be left alone and respected his wishes which went on for ten long years and during that time the secrets of Trey's hidden past were never shared and the lies just kept flowing from his lips.

But when he met Journalist Tara (about 60% into the book) the similarities to his long dead girlfriend Taylor were uncanny, they could have been twins, and suddenly he was mezmerized.... but he still felt toxic and not good enough for her. So he fought the attraction as best he could but the chemistry was too great and reluctantly (but desperately) Trey gave in to lust..... however he absolutely denied love. He didn't even quit his whoring ways determined to push her away - which he eventually succeeded in doing. I can't believe a successful woman would allow herself to be treated so badly and the relationship always seemed one-sided. But then the past caught up with him and, once again, it was his love interest Tara who paid horrifically for a past she knew absolutely nothing about.

Continue to get lost in the world of the band, Devil's Lair

Loved the story just as much the third time around. Encore is the continuation of the story of the members of Devil's Lair. Jack and Leila deal with the same types of problems that people in the real world deal with. I enjoyed seeing how the author dealt with them. She continued to use dual point of view. I knew what they were thinking. i knew what they wanted. I knew how they felt. Lori had the most troubles. Insecurities grow, making her run to Leila when ever she panics. At times reading the story was similar to attending group therapy with the benefit of getting more than an hour's worth of drama. Encore isn't all warm and fuzzy. Trey is still having issues. He want to love, but doesn't know how without dealing with his past. Thankfully, Trey's story is available in book 4, Backstage.

First let me say if you have never read the Back Up Series.ÂWHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???ÂYou need to read this series right now! You will absolutely fall in love with this series andÂtrust meÂwhen I say that before you are even done with book one (Back âup) will you find yourself with multiple book boyfriends from this one series!

Encore takes place right were book 2 (Front and Center) leaves off. This is the book that gives us a deeper look into Jack and Leilaâs epic love story and their HEA! It is written with four POV so not only so do we have more of Jack and Leila but we also learn what is happening with Evan (Leilaâs brother) and Lori (Leilaâs BBF) and the love of their lives.

Encore will have you so engrossed in this passionate story that you will feel like you are right there with these characters, experiencing their Rock Star lifestyle but also their life as a couple in love <3

In true A.M Maddenâ style of writing, this story will have you excited, smiling, and laughing from cover to cover. ÂOh and YES, there is very HOT STEAMY SEXY SCENES!!! It is a ROCK STAR ROMANCE!!!

Love that the story is set in the New York/New Jersey area! Love the friendships and banter in this story! Love the romance! I JUST LOVE THIS SERIES!

I fell in love with the characters and especially with Jack and Leila from the first moment I started reading Back-up. And I continued falling deeper and deeper for them during Front & Center. But this third book in the series is my favorite.

Encore has everything. It can make you laugh, it can make you cry, it can melt your panties and it can make you angry or frustrated. It can make you experience each emotion the characters feel. It is written from 4 different POVs (Jack and Leila's of course and in addition 2 more :) ).

Hated to see it end

Amber, Sophie's best friend and often an accessory has problems cropping up everywhere. Her stalker is out of prison and looking for her and her beloved grandmother is missing. I adored this book because I adore all the characters. The writing was stellar, giving you the feeling you are right there. A few of the plot twists were farfetched but the romance between Amber and Aiden made up for them. The stalker story was pretty weak, and the crime even more so. I took off a star for those. Hope the rest of the guys get a story.

I swear, Kate Allenton's stories get better and better with each book in her series. This one totally hit it out of the park!! I LOVED it, flowed so smoothly I was done before I knew it (dang it) and all I can say is WOW! I don't like to give away story details in a review, I just let you know if the book is worth it and without a millisecond of hesitation...YES!!!! Absolutely amazing, I love all the characters and can not wait for the next one

Loved who the author got to narrate this book. I could listen to his voice all day. I had already read the book and really enjoyed listening to the story. I will be buying more audibles from this author.

I'm sorry the narrator was horrible, the story was weak. He is a freaking cop acting like a horn dog, I felt no romance what so ever just sex and hes gonna screw up his career for this girl he doesn't know but jump into bed with within the first day. No thank you. I don't like he heroine either shes to slutty for my taste.
