A great read!!

The story for Chaos was much more gripping than Heinous. Having gotten to know Tracie from the previous books, I was already invested in seeing her get her HEA. Torch had made a few appearances but I didn't know much about him.

Their story was a bit typical but I really enjoyed it. Tracie grew up around the Deathstalkers and has been a little sister to all the brothers. She has been like a den mother at the clubhouse and is the one everyone goes to for help, even though she's quite young. But having grown up around bikers, she knows the dangers and drama that comes with so she's always set her sights on settling down with abnormal guy.

Torch has had a thing for her for years and he's tired of sitting on the sidelines while she tries to deny she belongs with the club. With her safety at risk, he uses it as an opportunity to work his way in and claim her.

The story was an intense amount of Chaos for the club and Torch has to step up a bit to help everyone with the devastation they're left with. It's a bit heartbreaking for some of the members and totally had me hooked.

Now...I'd like to add that along with the two previous books I was reading along with the audiobook. I could only get through the first few chapters before giving up. The narrator was ruining the experience and once I went to just using my phone's feature to read my kindle, I started to really enjoy the book.

Chaos

Chaos is Tracie and Torch's story. It's oh so good. Torch has been waiting on the sidelines for Tracie for years. Tracie is determined to not end up with a biker, she wants a "nice guy". Tracie is dating some accountant named Randy because he is safe, works 9 to 5 job and seems really nice....but she craves Torch's touch. Little by Little Torch will bring down her walls she has built and he will claim her. We finally get Tracie's and Torch's back story. Torch's past is heartbreaking and Tracie's surprised me but still emotional .

Chaos is a very emotional story, so many shocking surprises that you will need tissues. DeathStalkers have a Ghost MC coming after them and it's not pretty. Tracie is being stalked by an unknown and things are spiraling out of control for this family. Can they pull together in a time of need? Will the Deathstalkers go to war? Can they catch the man stalking Tracie? Will Tracie finally let Torch in and let him claim her?

Absolution of Aidan Stars

I wanted to like this book so much more than I did, its a great installment to the series but I dont know something was missing for me I cant put my finger on what exactly.

I do know that I liked that Aidan and Deidre didn't fight there attraction to each other they just took it at face value and called it good. Thats not to say they didn't banter because they totally did that. This was also something I liked about this book.

They stayed true to who they were from the previous book. But I dont know something just was missing.. over all a good read, fits right in with the series.

Same narrator, she was good didn't really make the book pop or anything but I do like her male voices.

If you are looking for something to get you into the erotic mood, this book is a great start for such exploration. There is a chapter that tugs at you in the sensual way that makes you remember being a woman freshly touched.

Along with the sexual enjoyment of this book the mystery of Tori's story unfolding is enjoyable and keeps your interested. I quite loved getting to listen to this first book in the series.

The author's story weaving skills made the story very easy to follow. The audible narration made the words animate and draw me in.

What other book might you compare Captive to and why?

Skye Warren's book "Trust in me" I found the mystery and suspense of a similar calibur. both have the ability to leave me craving more.

What does lyric bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

she is Tori. I easily forget at times lyric is the narrator and not the real life confession of Tori's life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

this is a great book. I couldn't put it down and the ending left me hanging on the edge of my chair hungry for the next in the Series.

Very Engaging

What made the experience of listening to Captive the most enjoyable?

The story draws you in and keeps you wanting to figure out what is going to happen to the people involved. Lyric has a wonderful voice. I might just listen to this more than once.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Captive?

I wouldn't list a single point or two. More of the over all journey. You are with Tori as she makes the, sometimes painful, path to grow. i love how to narrator seems to pick on up this and you can feel the strength of Tori build through out the book.

Which character as performed by lyric was your favorite?

Favorite character would have to be the main character, Tori. What was also very enjoyable was that Lyric gave each character their own tone and accent.This really helps someone like me to keep it straight on who is speaking. Something I would have trouble with other wise

I am not one to normally have a external reaction to something I am reading. Is very internal for me. That being said I found many of characters being someone I could care about.

MUDDY WATERS SURROUND THUNDER ISLAND

Meryl!!! What happened? Thank goodness I didn't read this MS book first. I would have written her off totally. A poor plot with too much technical and terrorist information which did nothing to help the story line. The main characters are boring and underdeveloped. I have to agree with the reader from Boston, Mass who complained about the simplistic language. This is not a keeper. Throw it back! If you haven't read Tempting Fate, Trust No One, Half Moon Bay, etc., you're in for a treat. Buy them. You won't be disappointed.

Thunder Island

The book is very cleverly written, as are most of the Meryl Sawyer books. A very good read and quite exciting from beginning to finish.

Great romance from a fantastic romantic suspense author!

Meryl Sawyer has been touted as one of the leading ladies of romantic suspense. In THUNDER ISLAND, her latest book, she brings together two former lovers whose lives have been made difficult by past misunderstandings and unexpected deaths.

Sawyer's characters were wholly realistic and believable. The secrets both kept from each other, and the inadvertant misunderstandings, strengthened their relationship. They could each sense the other's pain and rather than making fantastical accusations (as so often happens), they strove to find the source of the pain and to ease it.

I only took issue with Kyle's attitude and treatment of Jenny when she first joined his class. His condescending attitude really irked me, but of course, anti-terrorism is a male-dominated profession and part of that male bastion of careers that have little tolerance for women.

My only other problem with this book was that the "suspense" part of it didn't really build until the last 4 chapter or so (the part that the back blurb indicates is the main part of the book--"But the aftermath of their desire leads to murder--and Jennifer is the prime suspect in a crime that has its twisted roots in Thunder Island's maze of shocking secrets and dangerous lies..."). And it was easily solved, with little suspense. But the romance part was great. Based on this book, I've gone out to buy as much of Meryl Sawyer's backlist as possible!

A Quick Light Fun Listen!

For a short story, there is a lot packed in, action, suspense as well as some steamy scenes. Meredith is attracted to her smart, sexy, rich, motorcycle riding boss, Gabriel. While Meredith was out running errands, she was involved in a car accident, and the driver of the other vehicles was gravely injured. At the scene of the accident, the other driver gives Meredith a package and ask her to deliver it to the owner, and this is where the suspense and mystery begins. Not knowing who to turn to, Meredith calls he boss, who rides in like a white knight on a bike. Things really get heated, when they find themselves not only in danger, but between the sheets as well!

This is the first story I've listened to narrated by Leigh Kelly and though she did a good job.

Overall, this quick listen was decent, entertaining and fast paced, and could easily be listened to in one sitting. Due to the length of the story, I rate it with a 3.5 stars.

The vehicle that hits her is driven by a young man who is severely injured and, with his dying wish, asks Denise to deliver a manila envelope to his boss for him. With that one request, big, beautiful Denises life is forever changed.

This is a fast-paced, romantic/erotic, suspense story. The characters are well-rounded and fun. I feel like I couldve used a little more back story regarding the main characters but it did not distract from the story.

The narration of this book couldve been stronger. The narrators cadence and inflection remained constant throughout the story, never giving you a true sense of the characters emotions.

If youre looking for a quick (a bit over 2 hours) listen and enjoy romantic suspense, this story will definitely fit the bill.

Good quick story

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. To start, I thought this audiobook had a very strange ending. I would have liked to know where her relationship with her boss went. It seemed to come out of the clear blue to start with. It was cute, but very typical. Maybe because it was so short it lacked substance.

Kept me hooked

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It had all 3 required components ( good story, good and fitting performance, just enough hot sexy scenes).

It is definitely a HEA novel but keeps you guessing still. It's tough to pull off both male and female parts but Emma does a good job.

The story had good flow with the resident bad boy coming to the rescue of the spitfire of a girl in distress all while her God Father aspires to keep them from becoming romantically involved.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review and I honestly can say it kept me involved and tuned in.

Well done mafia crime romance

Wonderful romantic story with lots of suspense and action added in. Well laid out story and characters. Really enjoyed the characters, they felt authentic and real. I love mafia crime stories and this one was well done and believable.

Intriguing Plot

Relentless was a great Mafia romance story as it had the two forbidden people falling in love while having the crime and suspense.

What aspect of Emma Lysys performance would you have changed?

I would have changed Daniel's voice, I did not enjoy the accent she added to it.

Adriana was a very strong lead female who stood up for herself and never stopped fighting. Daniel as an alpha male was perfect for the mafia type.

I liked Daniel he tried to stay away from Adriana, but he has wanted Adriana since they were younger. Daniel is very protective of her which makes you want to swoon.
