Mixed feelings

Ethan Garrett meets Darcy Prescott at a gathering of the U.S. embassy in Peru where they fall wildly in love with each other and decide after very short time to get married. Although the marriage starts very promising, the relationship can't endure Ethan's work related change in behavior - he becomes more and more introvert and having seen a lot as a Special Force operator, he asks Darcy to leave her position at the different U.S. embassies by applying for a position back in the States. Darcy refuses because she worked very hard for her career and can't accept that Ethan has become so narrow-minded. This issue has become a very serious bone of contention between the couple, however without serious consequences yet. Then the worst happens: Ethan has joined Darcy on her assignment in Israel. She is attacked by a man, Ethan steps in, saves her but kills the attacker. This incident is for many reasons the death blow for the marriage.

However, eight years later, Darcy is again on an assignment, this time in the Philippines, where a dubious murder occurred in the U.S. embassy. Darcy knows that only Ethan, meanwhile her ex-husband, can help her. She calls him and leaves a voice message on this phone. He reacts to her distress call but is too late - before he arrives in the Philippines, Darcy was abducted.

A classical Gerard book: fast-paced and action loaded. Irresistible male hero and a heroine who could meet him on equal terms. Inspired sex scenes that are related to the plot. Reunion with old friends from previous books and a rewarding happy end.

Why the mixed feelings? Firstly, I didn't like the flashbacks. There were just too many of them and they ripped the flow of the story apart rather than supporting it. Secondly, the reason why Darcy literally ran away from Ethan was so shallow that I couldn't relate at all. She claimed that he withdrew into himself but besides asking him what's bothering him she didn't do anything else but walk away from him. Finally, I thought the end of the book was rushed and blunt.

In any case, if you have read the previous sequels you might not lose this one.

Gripping Suspense

This story was in a whole other level of suspense (compared to the last two books) and I really liked it. Sure, I was tensed and I got stressed, but everything that happened felt realistic. I felt like I was with the characters and went through what they went through.

Dirty Money is a full length standalone dark mafia romance novel. There are no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a guaranteed happy ending!

FAST PACED AND DANGEROUS GAME

Tia Lewis writing with Roxy Sinclair achieved a quality and complex story. We're immediately thrown into the execution of a Mafia run, digital money-making scheme and although it takes a while to understand the operation, the characters and their situations are quickly established. Tia and Alex are perched precariously on a very high wire and the story oozes that tension. Two people from different worlds, carried in on different paths are trapped in a dangerous game.

Two Thumbs for this new series!

Sexy And Interesting

When a gambling debt puts Alex's father at the mercy of the mob Alex must step in and pay to try and save him.

Destiny who sees the Mafia life as an opportunity to better her situation actually realizes she's just a pawn in the dirty games.

When the fate of these two collide and the attraction takes over things do get

steamy but.. not overly descriptive.

Add the Fed's that want information to the mix and the action picks up.

The narrator has a pleasant voice and I think he was the right choice for this book.

My only issue with him was.. his tone basically stayed the same for male and female characters.

This made it difficult to distinguish the difference at times.

A side from that this Mafia romance is worth a listen.

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.

I hope the pro of this being a good listen out weighs the con of the narration confusion.

Suspenseful start!

I love dark romance, and this book did not disappoint. The buildup was slow, but the suspense made it worth the wait. Alex, a coding genius has something the mafia wants. The mafia, has something that Alex wants to protect, so their mutual needs bring them together. Alex is teamed up with Destiny, and now the fun begins.

Page turner

I have listened to and read this book many times now! I usually feel like I'm in the same room with the characters. Really really like Tliton s writing style. I like the series books the most.

Flirty & Suspenseful, a Pleasant Diversion With Likable Characters

As a reader unfamiliar with the Billionaires in the City series I was worried that not reading the previous installments would detract from my enjoyment of this story. I'm happy to report though that this is a fun and flirty read with a nice bit of suspense that can definitely stand on its own.

In the aftermath of Joslyn Devaroux's attempted murder of wealthy businesswoman Victoria Green, heiress Emma Devaroux and security specialist Jace Lance are brought together under a veil of deceit that could destroy their burgeoning relationship before it's barely begun. Throw in a bit of suspense courtesy of the machinations of Emma's sister Joslyn and her hired thug David and you have the impetus that binds Jace and Emma together despite her anger at his perceived betrayal. Told in alternating POVs readers are given a glimpse into both of the main character's lives which had me finding them likable and enjoying their increasingly steamy romance.

Emma could've lived up to the stereotype of the snobby rich girl but she was anything but. She was determined and strong-willed and gave as good as she got when it came to Jace. With his military background Jace was a loyal man, torn between his initial duty to Victoria and later on to Emma's cousins. Ultimately, as his feelings for Emma grew deeper, he became her champion protecting her from Joslyn's manipulations. Jace and Emma might've started off adversaries but with the danger increasing their interactions became crackling with fun and flirty banter leading to steamy interludes.

Overall this was an entertaining story with appealing characters that made for an engaging and suspenseful tale from start to finish. Though there were some plot holes, some silly choices made by characters, and a few unanswered questions at the end, Ms. Crowe's writing style fully immersed me in the story and pulled me along every step of the way.

Loved Warrior

I really loved Warrior! I had already read the ebook ,but the audiobook just takes the story to a whole new level. I especially loved Joshua Gibson , he was just perfect as Ben's voice. He really brought Ben's character to life for me.

Susan Fouche did a great job as Olivia's voice also. I highly recommend this audiobook you won't be disappointed, give it a listen!

LOVE WILL EVER LAST

What a beautiful love story, where true love will get there no matter what happens as we see between Ben and Libby.

yes there are moments where, when I could throttle Ben for keeping things back & thinks he's doing things for the right reasons, as he doesn't want to lay down his deep memories & feelings.

Even after everything Libby has/is going through she still being strong.

But it's not until it's practically ripped out of his again does he reacts.

Great has love, suspense & it's a great story

Ben has my heart

Well this is the first book I've listened to that I've already read. Wow. I felt the love of Ben and Olivia and their inner turmoil. I felt the struggle and heartache these two were going through more hearing the story than reading. This may be my new way of reading. This story is so worth the read.

Warrior Is An Awesome Listen!

This was very well done. Loved the duo narration, Ms. Fouche and Mr. Gibson did a wonderful job. A great beginning to an amazing series.

Loved it!

I also have an eBook of this story and loved reading along with the narrators. Joshua Gibson most definitely captured Ben's character and brought him to life. Susan did a good job with Olivia, though at some parts I felt that her smooth, seductive voice felt a little overdone. All in all, great audiobook.
