A very enjoyable read!

A very fine work that easily transcends the narrow bounds of horror ...

A very fine work that easily transcends the narrow bounds of horror fiction, and crosses over into historical fiction. Add to this some literary and poetical tributes to the work of Kafka, John Fowles, Dumas, and even Baudelaire, and there are simply no end to the surprises in store. The author has a rare talent for recapturing the voice of an earlier era, and this, blended with the novel's rich historical detail and sheer psychological terror make for a heady mixture! Not to be missed!

Story worth reading!

Listening to this short story by Ms.

Cole, I can see she has a considerable amount of creativity. She can make you breathless from one moment to the next. Switching scenes and not knowing what just happened made me curious to keep listening. She makes you hunger for more, wanting to know beyond her thoughts of how the story began and ends in her mind. I would like her to create a series of this fascinating story, to make it more than just a psychological short story. I would read each book from beginning to end, if she did.

The only thing I was taken back from was the narrator, it did not fit the story. But buy the book and see the creation she has mastered.

A USMC Werewolf? Oh Heck yeah!!

This is a really cool take on the werewolf theme...I find I am really digging it. The writing isn't fantasy themed (which I like) and actually more along the action kind of story. It does have some graphic violence...I mean it's about a 'USMC werewolf'...duh? but it's not over the top eating intestines kind of gore but, again, more war novel than anything. I find the settings very well done (been to the sandbox myself) and the military side is correct without being overly done (some seem to think that using nothing but acronyms is how ALL military talk is...it ain't).

All in all a great series that I'm looking forward to more of....maybe even a whole offshoot of fantasy/military fiction....

Dips and dives and turns.

Good but not quite as good as the first one. Still enjoyed it a good bit though.

Another review said "the bad guys win" in his one liner... I disagree. This feels more like the middle of the plot line. There's quite a bit more to explore and do in the storyline and I look forward to the next book for sure.

Kind of like "Empire Strikes back" a lot of bad stuff happens/develops, so it can be worked out later. Otherwise it gets too easy all the way around for the characters. Well cant say that with this one. Some pretty dark stuff at times in this one.

Update: On reflection I updated my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

Read both first and second books in one night, loved the character development, story was exciting and fun to follow. There is a lot of military jargon and very many acronyms but they are explained if you care to look them up but not necessary to enjoy the story. Many questions and paths to explore, can Aidan go total wolf? Will have to wait and see! Really look forward to future entries in this series! Highly recommend the two books.

Good sequel

So Aidan's saga continues. The Council of Werewolves hasn't killed him yet but other elements are being brought into play to complicate his life. However, unexpected allies show up unexpectedly. And then there's Claire... The whole relationship thing is heating up. Will secrets pose a problem? Only one way to find out...

Another great read from Tim Miller!!!

Blood Bath was nothing that I had anticipated it to be!!! This book took some twists and turns that I totally was not expecting!! Tim Miller has given his readers a book that pushes boundaries and hints at something a little extra. He is starting to build a very cool treat for his readers and I am so excited to see more of it develop!!

Allison is one twisted chick who likes to bathe in the blood of her victims. We get to watch her evolve into more then just your typical serial killer. I LOVED going along on this journey with Tim Miller and his characters.

I highly recommend this book to any and all extreme horror fans. This book has tons of blood and gore...It also has a storyline that is easy to follow and leaves you wanting to know what comes next for these characters. I think Tim Miller did a great job with this book!!!

One of Miller's best

This tale of a serial killer is reminiscent of Elizabeth Báthory, except that our hero doesn't bathe in the blood virgins to stay young, she prefers the blood of dirtbags. It's written in the first person, and it's hilarious at times. I like how she works at the Chesty Chola, and how she gets employed by a criminal ring that needs people whacked. I will warn you that some of the torture scenes are pretty intense and graphic. This is splatterpunk with characters you can sympathize for, it's well-written, entertaining, and a hoot, but if you're someone who gets easily offended, this isn't for you.

Reading the Dead

I enjoyed the storyline and the growth in the main characters. Anna's voice made my ears bleed, but the rest of the characters were well differentiated. I will likely read the next book rather than listening to it.

Wow, What a Fun Ride!

This was such a fun journey! The story starts off as a fun mystery thriller, but once the supernatural gets involved, the story takes some unexpected directions. The narration was amazing. There were so many fun and memorable voices, and I really felt immersed in the story. I excited to listen to the next book in the series!

This is an interesting concept, but the concept is poorly executed. The writing is stiff and flat. I lost interest and skipped to the end of the book.

An Honest Terror!!

Viktor's writing had me captivated from the first chapter of the book. At times I found myself holding my breath because of the intensity. It was a roller coast of inner terror for me. Viktor's descriptions had me not reading but taken into his book and being a part of the journey. It is the terror that isn't seen or discussed but you know it is there under the surface waiting for you. So good but sometimes having a vivid imagination worked to my detriment. I found myself taking "rest breaks" and coming back to the book a little later! I am hooked and now a life-long fan of this author. If you are looking for thrills and laughter this isn't your book. This is a book for those not afraid to take the journey! This might well be the best book I have read in a very long time. Can't wait for book 2! Well done Viktor!

Very Interesting Story

Throughout the book I wanted to know what happened next to the characters! If you have a religious background it will be even more interesting to you to see how Viktor weaves religion into the paranormal story. Knowing that Viktor is bringing personal experience to the genre makes you read his writing in a whole new way.

A well crafted read!

Astonishing read! I couldn't put this book down. It's not your average 'Paranormal' story. It took me deeper, taking me by surprise how Viktor Salazar brings to life some traditional lore held by some of my own family members! Throughout the book I was on a very familiar Supernatural and Spiritual journey through the eyes of his main character Emmanuel! Awesome book! Highly recommend. I can't wait for book 2!

Unique book!

I enjoyed this book because it has a unique "twist" on the zombie phenomenon. It's not "laugh-out-loud" funny, but it's quite entertaining. Well worth the time to read if you like zombies.

This was a book I picked up with trepidation as it seemed all too possible it would be a âone trick ponyâ stretching a single joke to beyond breaking point across the length of an entire novel. Wrong! It is like a bowl of potpourri on the sideboard of life - lots of subtle blending examples of humour - many of them very American so I suspect there were even more than I noticed, handicapped by my British perspective. This is a book that takes ironic comedy to a whole new level - maybe âsteelicâ comedyâ? Humour is a very personal thing, but this book hit me right on the funny bone.

This is a well-written book which takes a totally deadpan approach to a thoroughly - hysterically - funny sequence of events. It is dark comedy, so avoid if you are squeamish. The pace of the book rolls along in a perfect, unhurried way - screaming up into the action sequences and taking time to enjoy the more delicious moments of humour.
