    Dry as Dust Disappointment
The story line had promise. However, this book read much like a staid old lady's tale being orally conveyed, rather than an well developed novel. It was dry, with what little action there was being told in a third person gloss over, rather than interest generating action. Also there was very little character inter-action. What inter-action there was, was written in stiff precise language, which might have been all right for the two sisters raised in New York City, but which didn't ring true for men and women raised in the west. I also found that there was little emotion conveyed, or evoked, by the characters. In all, a disappointing read.
    Victoria and Savannah
To much time repeating the same thing, the story could have been half the length, and to much talking about God and jesus ,even tho it repeated everything over and over I liked the story.goes to show you can't help who you fall in love with
The Western Mail Order Bride: Burning Bridge
The book was really good and had many different people you were wondering what was going to happen to them. This story was good about the love between sisters and the men fell in love with.
    Western mail order bride
Liked the fact the book had a Christian theme, however the plot was weak and there were many typos. Also, needed to be proofread.

    Praise-inspiring
After reading the âLincoln County Seriesâ by this author and being genuinely surprised at the depth of story and characters and emotion in them and not âblandâ in subject matter at all, like I thought it would be, I decided to give this book âBroken Identityâ a try. Although I knew the premise was about a Christian marriage tested by infidelity, I never expected to feel such strong emotion from their circumstances and the characters involved. It was actually painful and heart rending to read, like watching someone being pulled slowly and painstakingly towards a dark pit and being helpless to prevent it. It was agonizing for me at times and I didnât want to finish the story because of it. Then I thought if I feel this much compassion and heartache for a fictional character going through this, more so for someone real, what kind of pain must GOD feel each time he sees one of his lambs strayâit must be unimaginable.
Bravo to this author for such life-like characters and such a poignant story and for telling not only the side of the wife, but giving the husbandâs point of view as well and doing an incredible job of it. My only regret is that the story was not longer.
Anatomy of Temptation Explored in Broken Identity
Begin with the question, "How can a sincere, Christian woman with an almost perfect husband (one that many only wish they had), end up having an affair?" The answer is the text of Foster's book. It doesn't happen all at once, or because of a one-time whim or rash decision. It happens step-by-step, as the main character thinks small thoughts, rationalizes and makes small choices that eventually lead to the unthinkable. We see through Foster's exploration that we are all capable of stepping onto the same path. It allows us to challenge our own thinking and decisions.
This overtly-Christian book is best appreciated by those of faith who deal with the same struggles and temptations- but often don't realize they are not alone. The final forgiveness and redemption by her husband is a true picture of what Christ can do for all of us.
    Love it
When things looks like it going right, we are not satisfied we think we need something more when God has blessed us with it. Relationship are not easy without communication. I feel that's what was part of Brian and Mona problem was. They doing the same thing over and over. Mona wanted something different and exciting. She looking for more attention.

    narration could have been bettet
Maybe it's just me but iI do want the narrator swallow, dink water ect....The story was great needed a better director
    suffering in silence
I really liked the story and idea of the paranormal aspect. BUT I suffered in silence listening to the narrator!!! this book could have been a great deal better with an experienced narrator who can do male voices or better yet have a male do the male voices. I suffered through because I like the story.
    Good overall
Starts out slow but picks up. Before long you are snared by the wish that your own dr. shared Dr. Maddy's traits.

Great & lots of action, Lil' but great romance
This story centered on a group of private and government security or law enforcement workers w/ varying paranormal abilities. The action-filled opening with a relationship conflict made for an enticing start. And the action-filled momentum continued. I enjoyed the strong heroine, Keira, and whatfrom my novice viewthe law enforcement, tactical specifics the author included. The author seemed to know what she was talking about and added enough specificity to add flavorful layers and depth to the story. The addition of spoken Greek was another positive. I dont understand it, but it added great realism. And the narrator seemed to do great with it; of course, I wouldnt know if something was mis-pronounced, so. The story was also full of witty dialogue. And it had well-developed characters and interesting side stories. More realism came from reference to some real cutting edge psyche-surgery with appropriate detail and usage. Keira is the best heroine ever, and the last, elongated action sequence of the book was SUPERB! I had ants in my pants, sitting on the edge of my seat, literally.
This story might be a little bit heavier on the action than on the romance, though the author really did a great job of having them both continuously intermingled. The chemistry between Keira and Luke was amazing. The sex was romantic; no explicit terms used. And there werent numerous sex scenes. When they finally got togetherand it wasnt until the 2nd half of the storyit was worth the wait. The story was romantic w/o being mushy. It was a pleasure to watch Keira and Luke get to know each other better and express what they feel for each other.
The one negativevery slightly negativecame near the end of the tale, with maybe 2.5 hrs left or so, when Keira reneged on a final decision thereby returning to an earlier decision. This vacillation is explained reasonably, but it got a bit tiresome. Still, it meant little in the overall story and my experience of it. Bring on more Joan Swan. And the narrator worked well for this story. Her depiction of the little boy speaking Greek was the best. Children can be hard to do, it seems, based on my experience having heard other narrators fail at it. An added bonus at the end is 20+ minutes of the 3rd book in this series, Rush.
    Great continuation of this series
    Any additional comments?
I knew after I read Fever (my first book by this author and the first in this series) that I'd want to read the rest of the books in this series. This book did not disappoint. The main characters had chemistry that kept the romance as intense as the suspense.

    Publisher's Summary:
From #1 New York Times best-selling author Barbara Freethy comes the third book in the popular Callaway Series, an emotional and suspenseful novel of love, family and dangerous secrets.
Ria is as sexy and sultry as a warm tropical night and as beautifully dangerous as the island drinks she serves at the beachside bar on Isla de los Suenos - The Island of Dreams. But Ria is not as carefree as she appears, and the pretense is wearing her down. One night she risks everything to escape from reality.
Drew Callaway is a former Navy pilot and rescue operative looking for his own escape from a life that has seen too much tragedy. Meeting Ria is like embracing the sun, and their single night together is life-changing. But the dream quickly fades when Ria is killed in a tragic accident at sea.

Drew isn't afraid of a little danger, but can he risk losing his heart to a beautiful stranger?
    Members Reviews:
    Very predictable
This is the second book in this series that I read. I felt the other one had more of a story to it. I was a bit disappointed in this one.
Falling For A Stranger - Loved It!
Would you consider the audio edition of Falling for a Stranger to be better than the print version?
Just as good. Of course listening to the narrator gave credence to the different emotions expressed so brilliantly.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ria was my favourite. She was so feisty, go-getting, spirited, refusing to give in to the persons working to destroy her and Megan.
Have you listened to any of Shannon McManuss other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't but I would love to listen to her again and again. She is superb.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Drew realised that Ria was lost to him forever, he was devastated.
    Any additional comments?
The mix of mystery and romance made this an enticing and tantalizing read. Listening to Shannon was just icing on the cake. Well written as all of her books are. This book is so good that you don't want it to end. The sequels take the drama forward and continues with the same characters. I enjoy the way she writes and keeps you involved with all the characters.
But this is what Barbara Freethy does so well. This book is a must read - every page brings one closer to the astounding finale. Sit back and enjoy. Great read! Follow the Callaways. The series is surreal.

Even though he also has precious little other than his tools, he tells her that the Lord will provide if she has faith in Him.

    Not good
    Any additional comments?
I'm sorry to say I am amazed that Carlisle is so well read. This book is more juvenile in language, tone and content than juvenile books. I love Janet Evanovich so it's not that I have a problem with girl-talk. I tried another of Carlisle's books and felt the same. Not a writer for me -- though I wish her well as a person.
    A whole lot of murders
Too many murders, with everything getting wrapped up in a short period of time. Narrator way to old
    Another awesome bibliophile mystery
Brooklyn is at it again, only this time it's her best friend Robin who finds fhe dead body. Together Brooklyn, Derek and Robin try to solve the mystery of the dead body in Robins bed and the connection it had to the rare book that Brooklyn is currently working on. I love these book bc it's full of laughs, mystery and is a all round fun and intriguing read! Can't wait to start the next book in this series!
Different reader half way through the series???
What did you like best about Murder Under Cover? What did you like least?
The entire series has been fun and entertaining. It is unfortunate that the reader has been changed half way through the series. After having listened to the first three books and enjoying that readers performance, the 4th book with the new reader simply doesn't sound right.
What didnt you like about Susie Berneiss performance?
I was used to the character's "voices and personalities" from the first three books. The change in reader in the fourth book ruined it for me.
