This is an interesting story, it just wasn't long enough. I would have like to know more about what happened in their life.
One Bible's Journey Along The Oregon Trail
I loved this book!!! I love having ebooks ready to read at the touch of a finger. Very good book.
    too short
This is ok. It's a quick read. The characters are decent. I feel like it ended abruptly. In this case, ten or fifteen extra might have been a good thing.

    The Story Continues
Usually I wouldn't buy another book by any author that leaves me hanging. However I really fell in love with these characters. So much so that I went out and bought the paperbacks. But must say I really, really, like the audio's. Specially the narrator Eric G. Dove who does a fantastic job narrating all of them. Not only do they keep one on the edge of their seat, they are so funny I laugh out loud as I picture this little town and all the town's people. Be sure to buy all of this series as it is more than worth it.
    A little flat
I love the picture chosen for this book but similar to book one in the series, this one had zero passion and the love story developed literally over two dates. Dont see that happening in real life so it was hard for me to totally get into a story where the main characters were SOOOO in love so quickly. Weak action sprinkled here and there and good narration. Not sure if I can recommend it as great work of action or romance, but it was entertaining enough.
    Risky shot
Love this book, love Kathleen brooks. I have read the book i decide to try audio i loved that took
    Cliffhanger
The story is great and has some suspenseful moments along with bits of comic relief. However it does end on a cliffhanger and I immediately got book 3. I'm so glad I did!
    Risky Shot
I hate cliffhangers. This was so good that I'm anxiously awaiting the purchase of the next installment.

A novella companion to New York Times best-selling author Maya Banks' Shades of Gray.
Softly at Sunrise takes place in a gap of time that occurs in Shades of Gray. Reading this novella will in no way spoil Shades of Gray, though there are some brief mentions of events that occur in that book.
Rachel Kelly has traveled a long, hard road in her journey back to her husband, Ethan, and the Kelly family. Now, as she and Ethan are poised to move into their new home, safe behind the walls of the Kelly compound, Rachel wonders if shell finally be free of the ghosts that have haunted her for so long and if shell step into the sun after a past steeped in darkness.

    HATED the new narrator!
Whatever reason they had for changing the narrator, it was a bad decision....at least get someone that didn't make them sound like backwoods hicks and wimps to boot!
I am seriously considering just buying the books from now on because I can't stand this narrator!
    Disappointed!!!
What did you like best about Softly at Sunrise? What did you like least?
The update on Ethan and Rachel. The only thing I didn't like was the narrator.
What did you like best about this story?
The update on Ethan and Rachel and the fact that they finally are getting back to a happy life.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Adam Paul?
I don't understand why in the middle of the series the narrator would be changed! Adam Paul is horrible and made the audio book a major disappointment. If he continues to narrate this series I will not purchase another audiobook. I will check out the book from the library!!!
Was Softly at Sunrise worth the listening time?
Not with Adam Paul as a narrator...
    Any additional comments?
Please switch back to Harry Berkeley
    Bring Harry back.
Adam Paul is not the right person for this reading, or any KGI reading. It has ruined the KGI series for me. The guy all sound girly half of the time. Adam does not give the characters the same emotion that Harry did.
    Really enjoyed the story
What did you love best about Softly at Sunrise?
I really enjoyed the storyline and update on Ethan & Rachel. The school incident was well written. I Missed the prior narrator, I liked Adam Paul and remembered him from the Breathless Trilogy, but really missed Harry Berkeley as he brought the characters to life.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Which character as performed by Adam Paul was your favorite?
Like his normal voice, the change is Character, wasn't as good as the prior narrator, Harry Berkeley
    I loved it...
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely..it took a while to get used to the new narrator, but I got so absorbed in the story that he faded into the background.
Who was your favorite character and why?
PJ, definitely. She was an aboslute female in this book..strong, fragile, girly, manly..all wrapped into one. She brought what happened to her to the forefront, avoided it, dealt with it her way and on her terms. She was all over the map and it was wonderful.
Now, Cole would be next. He was so sensitive and manly all at the same time.

    The Butcher of Beacon Hill
So many elements of classic gothic novels of yore...misting Highland moors, stomping stallions, dead wives and fiancées abounding. Ms. Beaumont sure keeps you turning the pages. The atmosphere and emotions she creates are five-star, particularly as Felicity redefines her revenge and renews her faith instead. Despite his moniker The Butcher of Beacon Hill, I totally love Graeme. This tale brings to my mind the novels of great Victoria Holt, especially when a trusted loved one turns foul. This is a pleasure from start to finish.
    First ebook I read.
I liked this story. It flowed nicely and the atmosphere was just creepy enough, yet romantic. Would have really liked it more if it was a full length novel. I would read more from this author.
    Christian Gothic?
Into the Grae by Nicola Beaumont is the first book to be released in White Rose Publishing's new Gothic line. The book blurb reads: Graeme McCracken, Lord Hamel, is cursed. Loving him is deadly, so he vows never again. Never fall in love, never risk another woman. Then he rescues Felicity Worthington and falls in love with the feisty beauty--but his love is fatal. Now, only God can save her...but will He, when He is the very God who cursed Graeme to begin with?
Felicity Worthington is on a mission from God: Kill Graeme McCracken and avenge her friend's death. But the lord of the manor is strangely alluring and mysteriously magnetic--not at all the cold-hearted murderer painted by her mind's eye. As she begins to trust, to love, she is devastated to find that Graeme is indeed the Butcher of Beacon Hill. When her life is threatened, she learns that only faith and love can save her from becoming the next victim on the moor.
At 77 pages Into the Grae is a quick read. But it certainly had the potential to be a full length novel, if the author had chosen to make it one. As it is, she did a great job of building plot and characters in the scope of the story. All the typical Gothic elements were included - lonely old house, ancient family servant, brooding hero, innocent heroine and crazed villain. Felicity is mesmerized by Graeme right from the start and readers will be, too. His character is a mixture of deep, melodic voice, dark good looks, handsome face and mysterious past.
It is Felicity's faith that allows her to face Graeme, supposedly a heartless murderer, and to eventually realize that he is not to blame for the tragedies that have befallen him.

    Publisher's Summary:
Mackenzie and Twila Sellars are the unfortunate daughters of Patrick Sellars, the latter better known to the Four Oaks community as the town drunk. The man's constant inebriation has left the girls, respectively twenty-one and eight, to shoulder a life of poverty, neglect, and physical and emotional abuse with only their kind neighbor, Sophia Lucasta, lending an occasional helping hand and attentive ear.
After several years of having to serve as "stay-at-home sister", Mackenzie attempts to turn things around with her new waitressing job. Her gentle demeanor and strong work ethic win the respect of her co-workers and community, but also unwittingly manages to capture the interest of her manager, Ryan Patterson.
When Ryan pursues a romantic relationship, Mackenzie staves him off, reminding him of their employer/employee relationship. But the truth is, it is her deep shame and mortification of her family's condition that keeps her so guarded and reserved. Will Mackenzie learn to take a chance, have faith in herself and others, and learn to love?
    Members Reviews:
    An Inspirational Journey
Would you listen to A Broken Road to Nowhere again? Why?
This book is an inspirational story about hope, faith, forgiveness, and compassion. The two sisters, Mackenzie and Twila, immediately captured my heart. As I came to understand their lives I found myself saddened by their seeming hopeless situation, but their determination, hope, and faith proved to be invaluable. The romance between Mackenzie and Ryan was warm, honest, encouraging and full of promising love. This story proves that, with determination, optimism, and a belief that life is full of opportunity, a broken road to nowhere can be changed to a path to a promising future.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mackenzie is a strong young woman character, who despite having to deal with more than her share of troubles, remains true to her convictions, is determined to achieve her dreams, is compassionate of others, and has a solid work ethic. All of her characteristics help her to move forward to a better future for herself and her sister.
Have you listened to any of Teri Wilders other performances before? How does this one compare?
Teri Wilder did an excellent voice audio for this book. She made the characters come alive and added extra nuances that really made this an enjoyable audio book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A Broken Road To Nowhere; an inspirational journey to a promising future
    Any additional comments?
I highly recommend this book. It is well written and the characters are engaging. It is truly an inspirational journey

    Good story, but narrated badly
The storyline was good, but the narration was wanting. It didn't sound professionally done, and although it didn't keep me from listening to the story, it was distracting.
Sweet story in need of a different narrator
I enjoy the book of Ruth and, having read/seen several versions of the story, was excited to find this modern-day retelling. The story itself, while not earth-shattering, was sweet. The narration, however, made it hard to truly enjoy the experience.
Normally I enjoy listening to books read by the author, as I figure they are able to depict their characters and story exactly as they imagined them when writing the book, but "Faith" is an exception to this rule. The author's reading style is wooden and rushed, with very little vocal inflection and no pauses where I felt there should have been some sort of a break. At times it made it difficult to understand who was speaking, and overall I found it hard to connect with the characters. In this case, I think I would have enjoyed reading a hard copy of the book more than listening to it. Fortunately, it was only 45 minutes long; I would have had a hard time finishing if it had been much more than an hour.
If you're looking for a fictional interpretation of the story of Ruth, I would highly recommend "Here Burns My Candle" and "Mine is the Night" by Liz Curtis Higgs. Both are also read by the author, and she does a wonderful job of bringing her characters to life.
