Recommended

An excellent addition to a terrific series. Sophie is such a strong woman and very smart. she is determined and stubborn. So much so that she turned away from love to her regret. Now she has another chance, will she take it while she can?

There is a large inconsistency that I could not overlook when rating this story.

As with most of the stories in this series, this story stands on it's own but is enhanced when read in series.

The best yet

Love the continued use of the cast of characters, expanding the town. Elements of danger, exciting action and even comedy. It's like I know these people, know how they'll react.

Love love love

I absolutely love all of the books in the Keenston series (and original series). Everything from Kathleen Brooks is a must read! Perfect balance of romance, laughter, and suspense.

Follow this series!!!!!!! Seriously start it now!

Would you consider the audio edition of Forever Secret to be better than the print version?

I tend to prefer the audio version personally because I can "read" while I am doing anything.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the strength of the characters. Each character is built out and ones you love and grow to love even more during the novel and series.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when you discover just how smart and strong Sophie is as she controls the scene with the gun she designed.

Hold On To Your Seat!

You're in for an exciting ride! I love it when a book grabs my attention right from the beginning and holds it right to the end. Forever Secret certainly did that and more. I could hardly contain myself from fast forwarding to know what was going to happen next...but of course didn't want to miss anything. From edge of your seat suspense, an amazing town of people and laugh out loud scenes, the story grabs your attention and doesn't let it go. This is definitely my favorite book in the Forever series and in my opinion it is definitely a must listen. Thank you Kathleen Brooks for giving us such wonderful stories to get lost in! Eric G. Dove once again outdoes himself with his amazing narration!

Title: Barefoot With a Stranger

Subtitle: Barefoot Bay Undercover, Book 2

Author: Roxanne St. Claire

Narrator: Kaleo Griffith

Format: Unabridged

Length: 9 hrs and 49 mins

Language: English

Release date: 12-30-16

Publisher: South Street Publishing

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 20 votes

Genres: Romance, Suspense

Publisher's Summary:

Nominated for the Romance Writers of America 2016 Rita Award for best romantic suspense novel.

Francesca Rossi might be the youngest in a long line of badass siblings, but this computer whiz would rather hack a database than pack a pistol for the family business in Barefoot Bay. When an assignment forces her out of her comfort zone and into the field, Chessie decides to amp up the excitement quotient and has her first one night stand with a smokin' hot stranger she'll never see again.

Former CIA agent Malcolm Harris is fresh out of prison for a crime he didn't commit and knows the government is watching his every move, waiting for him to slip up. But the only mistake he makes is to assume the sexy, sassy woman he seduces on the way to Barefoot Bay is a spy. He learns too late that the beauty he's bedded is really his best friend's sister...and his undercover partner on a risky mission.

Chessie and Mal have to stay one step ahead of the CIA, navigate their way through a perilous country, and fight the insane chemistry that sizzles between them. It doesn't take long for this hacker and spy to discover the power of their unplanned partnership...and learn that falling in love might be the riskiest business of all.

The Barefoot Bay Series is really several mini-series all set on one gorgeous island. Every single book in the series can be picked up and enjoyed whether you've experienced none, some, or all of the others. The complete series consists of the four original books that launched the series, followed by a trilogy of Billionaires, a trilogy of Brides, and a prequel plus trilogy of Undercover stories. This way, listeners can either enjoy a long series, or just sink into one of the trilogies for a shorter time commitment. There are a few boxed sets and free "first in trilogy" options so it won't cost too much to spend many days (and nights!) in Barefoot Bay. And there will be more next year!

Another great Roxanne St Clair hit!

Where does Barefoot With a Stranger rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

It is right up there with my list of favorites!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Barefoot With a Stranger?

One of many was when Francesca was crying over the graves. This was such an emotional scene and she knew she was going to cause her brother extreme pain.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in the hotel where Mal and Francesca were "fake" having sex for the benefit of the listening device. It was so funny what they were doing and what they were thinking about what they were doing. I laughed so hard!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! I couldn't because life gets in the way of my listening but I came as close as I could to "reading" it very quickly.

Any additional comments?

This is a great series by this author!

Outstanding

It could only happen to Chessie Rossi! When her flight is cancelled she finds herself in the company of one very hot stranger. She's always lived by the rules but just this once she decides to have a night of pure fun.

Members Reviews:

intense action non-stop

You better hold on tight when you start this journey with Noose and Rose. Marata Eros pulls you into this whirl wind from page one. The cliffhanger will pull you in deeper.

BAD

I don't know what is worse, the reading or the writting. Completely, totally, utterly bad.

Cliff hanger and so much more.

Listening to the narrator immitate a male biker is painful. I couldn't relate to Noose's character, and with the female history, I cant understand her jumping right in to a sexual relationship with a biker. Could be a much fulfilling story with more character building on his feelings with the female character, and.....the cliffhanger???? Well, if the first book was fulfilling I'd be keen on purchasing the following books. In this case, I'll save my money and time. Not attached to the story and easy to walk away from this one.

Riped off

The story didn't finish, sucked in, paid the money for 2hrs and the story didn't finish. Come on, totally feeling riped off.

The story was ok, the writing Ok the narrator was great. BUT there is no way I'm spending my money on the #2, the book would have cost twice as much as one that is longer and actually finishes.

Members Reviews:

voice didn't match

the lady's voice was fine for the story. The man's voice was more for an older gentleman or some other book that wasn't about a macho former seal. it caused me to like the book A Little Less

To many sex scenes

Story was good however the sex scenes were ridiculous especially during high drama areas like in the cell when they are captured.

Sizzling

Loved it. Alison Ryan's wtites a very sexy James Bond-Jason Borne story. Bruce Cullen and Alison Summers have the best voices. Makes for a very hot performance.

X rated Porn story

not enough story, too much detailed sex.... not what I want to hear. the book would have been good without a all that. I stopped after a few chapters. Disappointed that I wasted my money on this

Great book but

Loved that it was so action packed, great hero. Down side the girl cries too easily and that it is a to be continued book.

Members Reviews:

read this book do not listen to it.

m.s. should stick with writing and leave the reading to someone that will give the story the emotional value it deserves.

Aahhh.....

I really wanted to like this book, but it reminded me high school. For two smart people they their communication skill were very poor. Needed a better narrator. Voice very annoying

Great story

Really enjoyed the story but felt the narrator was not good at the emotions of the story.

Deadly Encounter

Mrs. Mills does extensive research for her books and it shows, I truly appreciate it. As always this was an engaging and intriguing novel. The story of Stacey, Alex and Whit was heartwarming. The suspense was masterful. The narrator gave an excellent performance, this added another rich dimension to this superior book. As always I'm looking forward to more by DiAnn Mills.

Outstanding narration

I'm impressed with the way the narrator can do 10 different male voices in Chapter 49

Hard to follow.

I struggled to get through this audio book. The narrator was hard to listen to, and not great with character voice changes. The plot was confusing and hard to follow through the middle and the characters were not well formed. The wrapup was fine but it was hard to get through.

Terribly predictable and overwritten

This 65 chapter book could have been done in 25 if every chapter hadn't been so repetitive. It was slow, predictable and poorly written. The performance made it even worse with very little charisma in the readers voice. It was almost monotone. If I hadn't been on a 6 hour trip and stuck in the car I would have never put myself through the agony.

Excellent

I throughly enjoyed this Book.--suspense, intrigue, and romance. I can't wait for Book 2.
