    STORY REVIEW......
I don't normally read young adult books but I found this one interesting so I gave it a go. The story is well written and had a good flow to it. The characters were well thought out..
    AUDIO REVIEW......
I found the narrator to be very good at telling the authors story. She had a nice voice did a good job of pulling of the emotions of the characters. Well done..

Can't wait to see what's next!
I was not a fan of the performance but overall this was a really good book.
My first introduction to the series
I haven't read any of the Broken Dreams series, so this was my first introduction to the series and the author. The writing was nice, but there isn't a lot going on plot wise. I'm assuming that this is a great prequel for the series and a good introduction into Natalya's backstory.
Jennifer Baggiero did a great job narrating, but the audio quality was a bit hollow. Baggiero has a nice voice for narrating.
**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

I have not read "One, Two, Three" so this prequel was a first look into a teen ballerina's dysfunctional family. The story moves before and after the tragedy that changes her life forever. I now want to read the previous book to see where this story goes.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed.
    Dancing Prequel
One Dream Only is a short story of a teenager trying to live up to her parents' expectation of being the best ballerina. Sixteen-year-old Natalya Pushkaya's mother is a well-known famous ballerina within the world of performing arts. Her father is a famous pianist. Publisher's Summary:
Seventeen-year-old RJ always gets what she wants. So when her soul is accidentally collected by a distracted Grim Reaper, somebody in the afterlife better figure out a way to send her back from the dead, or heads will roll. But in her quest for mortality, she becomes a pawn in a power struggle between an overzealous archangel and Death Himself. The tribunal presents her with two options: She can remain in the lobby where souls wait to be processed until her original lifeline expires, or she can replay three moments in her life in an effort to make choices that will result in a future deemed worthy of being saved. It sounds like a no-brainer. She'll take a walk down memory lane. How hard can changing her future be?
But with each changing moment, RJ's life begins to unravel, until this self-proclaimed queen bee is a social pariah. She begins to wonder if walking among the living is worth it if she has to spend the next 60 years as an outcast. Too quickly RJ finds herself back in limbo, her time on Earth once again up for debate.
RJ is a snarky, unapologetic, almost irredeemable, very real girl. Her story is funny and moving, and teens will easily connect with her plight. Prepare to meet the Grim Reaper, who's cuter than you'd expect; Hawaiian shirt-wearing Death Himself; Saint Peter (who likes to play cornhole); and Al, the handler for the three-headed hound that guards the gates of hell. This cast of characters accompanies RJ through her time in the afterlife and will do their best to gently shove her in the right direction.

    Truly Wonderful!
This book was truly a wonderful read! The story was sweet and funny. It was also sad but joyous overall. The narrator was excellent! Highly recommended!
    Moral message humanity needs
A teen must read. Clever, hilarious, memorable with a moral message humanity could use a dose of. RJ is a great lead character but even the sub characters are perfectly developed to create one hell of a cast...can I say hell with a book about heaven and the afterlife??

    How far is too far?
At one of Manhattan's most elite ballet schools, wafer-thin ballerinas pull their hair into sleek buns and lace their pointe shoes high, waiting for their chances to shine. But beneath the pretty, polished surface, these girls are hiding some terrible secrets and telling some twisted lies.
Privileged Bette is tiny and beautiful - like a ballerina in a music box. But living forever in the shadow of her ballet-star sister and under the weight of family expectations brings out a dangerous edge in her.
Perfectionist June can turn a flawless plié and diligently keeps her weight below 100 pounds. But she's never landed a lead role. Tired of always being the understudy, this year she'll settle for nothing but the best - even if she must resort to some less-than-perfect means to get there.
And new girl Gigi isn't your traditional ballerina. A free-spirited California girl, she's not used to the fierce competition. Still, that doesn't stop her from outperforming every dancer in the school. But even she is hiding a ticking time bomb, and the very act of dancing just might expose her secrets to everyone.
Being a prima isn't all satin and lace; sometimes you have to play dirty. With the competition growing fiercer with every performance, and harmless pranks growing ever darker, it's only a matter of time before one small spark ignites...and even the best get burned.

    Good Book
loved it, well read. dis not lose interest at all cant wait to read the second book
Bland story but not too terrible
The readers were fairly monotonous; I can't judge that hard because I'm not an actor myself but it would've been nice to have inflection and some excitement put into the reading.
    Love it!
Great book and really great performances! Can't wait to listen to the next one. Love it!
    Tiny Pretty Things
The Story was fantastic until the very end ??? What happened did the writer run out ink ??? As a reader/listener I was left wonder what happened to all the characters and I was so angry when I realised that was it, that was all there was to this story .... Glad I only listened to it and hadn't wasted my time reading the book I would have been soooo disappointed ...

    Publisher's Summary:
Kody Keplinger returns to the world of The DUFF in this brand-new companion novel!
Sonny Ardmore is an excellent liar. She lies about her dad being in prison. She lies about her mom kicking her out. And she lies about sneaking into her best friend's house every night because she has nowhere else to go. Amy Rush might be the only person Sonny shares everything with - secrets, clothes, even a nemesis named Ryder Cross.
Ryder's the new kid at Hamilton High and everything Sonny and Amy can't stand - a prep-school snob. But Ryder has a weakness: Amy. So when Ryder emails Amy asking her out, the friends see it as a prank opportunity not to be missed. But without meaning to, Sonny ends up talking to Ryder all night online. And to her horror, she realizes that she might actually like him. Only there's one small catch: He thinks he's been talking to Amy. So Sonny comes up with an elaborate scheme to help Ryder realize that she's the girl he's really wanted all along.
Can Sonny lie her way to the truth, or will all her lies end up costing her both Ryder and Amy?

Excellent narration for such a horrible book
I was so intrigued by the premose of this book since I somewhat liked The DUFF so I thought why not give this a chance ? .. apparently this was a mistake, the book was just terrible and made me disgusted most of the time .. I couldn't think of a single moment where I felt connected to thw character .. I guess thia author is not my cup of tea afterall, however I have to comment on the narration because it is what kept me pushing this .. she was amazing and she did fit the part
    Waste of time..
I love the narration, but the story sucked.. All the build up for nothing. The behaviors of the main character were cringe worthy, and it prevents you from liking her too much. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, this book is lacking the romance for sure.
    Enjoyable but frustrating
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Lying Out Loud is not a prequel or a sequel, it is a self-contained story, which should not need to be read in a particular order with Keplinger's other titles... However there are a number of throw-away scenes in this book which refer to characters and relationships from her earlier titles. The scenes contribute nothing at all to the story, but rather slow the pace as well as giving away summaries of the entire plots of her other novels. It felt thoughtless and self-congratulatory of the author to include these, and I wish an editor had pulled them out of the finished book.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I lost patience with Sonny quite rapidly. At first her constant lying is mildly entertaining and a symptom of her home life / family situation. But her treatment of her best friend, the ingratitude she shows towards her, as well as the way she places her in an intolerable situation and then goes back on a promise she made to her for purely self-interested reasons, all made me very angry.Towards the end of the book, when it was completely obvious that her lies would be found out, it felt unrealistic that any person could be stupid or selfish enough to act the way Sonny does, at which point I hoped both the love interest and her best friend would simply wash their hands of her forever.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I enjoyed the scene where Amy's parents find out the real reason Sonny has been staying at their house.

    Publisher's Summary:
Whitley Johnson's dream summer with her divorced dad has turned into a nightmare. She's just met his new fiancee and her kids. The fiancee's son? Whitley's one-night stand from graduation night. Just freakin' great. Worse, she totally doesn't fit in with her dad's perfect new country-club family. So Whitley acts out. She parties. Hard. So hard she doesn't even notice the good things right under her nose: a sweet little future stepsister who is just about the only person she's ever liked, a best friend (even though Whitley swears she doesn't "do" friends), and a smoking-hot guy who isn't her stepbrother...at least not yet.
It will take all three of them to help Whitley get through her anger and begin to put the pieces of her family together. Filled with authenticity and raw emotion, Whitley is Kody Keplinger's most compelling character to date: a cynical Holden Caulfield-esque girl you will wholly care about.

    frustrating...
This was so frustrating. I guess it would have been a good book for a 12 year old, however the language and sexual content was conflicting with the childish story line. Either the story line needed more depth, chemistry, and less self loathing from Whitley or the language and sex talk needs to be taken out since it was really kind of out of place anyway. There was zero chemistry and to be honest, was a bit boring. I loved the DUFF, this was a let down in comparison.
    good story
loved it! twist in the beginning was the bait and I took it. awesome story

    Last Request
While I adore Amanda Ronconi as a narrator, she is firmly fixated in my mind as "Kaylee", so I kept forgetting I was listening to the story from the POV of Tod or Nash. I would have preferred a male narrator...the one who did Reaper would have been a good choice. I didn't deduct stars for this though, as I cannot fault the narration otherwise. The story was great, as I expected it would be...the whole series is fantastic.

Wilderness Survival Tip Number 1: Drinking your own sweat will not save your life. Somebody might have told you that, but they were trying to find out if you'd really do it.
Henry Lambert would rather play video games than spend time in the great outdoors - but that doesn't make him a wuss. Skinny nerd? Fine. But wuss is a little harsh. Sadly, his dad doesn't agree. Which is why Henry is being shipped off to Strongwoods Survival Camp. Strongwoods isn't exactly as advertised. It looks like the victim of a zombie apocalypse, the "camp director" is a psycho drill sergeant, and Henry's sure he saw a sign written in blood...
Wilderness Survival Tip Number 2: In case of an avalanche, don't despair. You're doomed, but that's a wicked cool death. Wilderness Survival Tip Number 3: If you're relying on this audiobook for actual survival tips, you're dead already.

    Entertaining
This is a truly entertaining and funny book. Pretty sure I knew some of these kids when I was young. Strand drops in random, yet perfect little details about awkward teens. I run when I listen to books and I laughed out loud throughout this story and got in extra miles so I could hear more. Aaron Landon is an excellent reader. Wolf Hunt was also fun and I look forward to WH 2 and his other works.
    love it
it was cool and i dont suggest for like 9 year olds but it is so cool
    Don't waste your time
Not his best work. It wasn't even entertaining enough to keep me interested. I kept catching myself zone out but wasn't upset that I missed a part.
